Reviews From Real Travelers
This was my second visit at Acquapetra. The first time I was impressed by the architecture, the great service and the overall acceptable prices for the Michelin star restaurant, bar and spa. We stayed in a standard room that was cute but small. This second visit I decided to go for a suite for two nights. Let's start with the positives: - The room was lovely. Great decor, spacious, over two floors with a great patio upstairs and a nice balcony downstairs. Two bathrooms. Perfect with even two kids if needed. There were some signs of wear and tear easily fixable (see photos) but overall no complaint about the room. - The food we had was great. There is no question that they use the best possible ingredients. - Some of the staff was trained, experienced and professional. Especially those also working at La Locanda del Borgo. Now the negatives: - We called and emailed to change the date of arrival. The staff we interacted with over the phone and email was unprofessional and clueless. How can a hotel that charges 300€ per night per room have someone responding on the phone who is rude, speaks no English and lacks the basic skills to work in hospitality. Not a great start! - As soon as we arrived the Aircon in the room wasn't working. I had to call twice and both times the person answering the phone was rude and unprofessional (must be the same person above). No apology, no explanation. Nothing! Ridicolous. It was eventually fixed but when it is 30° outside and the Aircon doesn't work you apologise, you don't act annoyed with your customer. - At times there was an unpleasant smell of sewage in the room. Of course I understand the resort is remote and they have their own sistems. Still, if you charge 5 star prices, you offer 5 stars standards. - Now to the breakfast service. Unfortunately, service was hit and miss. When served by personell from the Michelin star restaurant, it was spot on. Professional and competent. The other staff used to fill in had no clue. Inexperienced and unprofessional. I fell for them as they were polite, yet, the standard was low. Buffet food was great, though charging extra for pochet eggs felt like a robbery given the price of the room. - We had lunch there on our first day and I realised that prices have almost doubled since last time I visited. 35€ for pasta in the middle of nowhere? Come on! 12€ for a glass of local wine when restaurants outside sell the same at 3€? 6€ for a bottle of water? If everything was flawless I would understand the Four Season prices given the location and the subpar service , given most ingredients are local as are the wines, why overcharge your customer? - We had a lovely dinner with outstanding service on the second night but still, being charged 45€ for their own local Aglinico felt like a robbery. I am local, I know local prices. Double prices are understable in a hotel. When you go x4 though, it is just gridiness. - Though a Spritz was 15€, service by the pool was nonexistent. Is it reall

The site is lovely and relaxing and surrounded by trees and olive groves. The outdoor pool is lovely, well kept, plenty of sun beds, chairs and shade. The rest needs some attention. The room seemed shabby and in need of some tlc, the shower in particular was so shabby I felt a need to wear slip flops. The area outside the rooms was a bit of mud with a few shrubs, the spa area was a bit tired. All of this could be improved, it is a shame. Like someone else, we also couldn't find the entrance, it's not well sign-posted and we drove round the block several times before we realised where the entrance is, and that was being guided by sat-nav. I also agree with the earlier reviewer that the surfaces to walk on are not great, with or without heals not easy to roll a suitcase on and you are constantly wary of twisting an ankle if you are not careful. We only ate in the restaurant once, and that was enough. I've had far better Michelin meals, the sauce was a few drops which because the plate was hot, actually dried up, the potato was a smear so I ended up with some pulled lamb and ate it with the bread, thus I paid a lot of money for a lamb burger.

Menna who served us breakfast each morning was the star as far as the staff are concerned. She remembered our coffee order each morning. Breakfast room overlooked the pool which was a very relaxing place. The October warmth allowed us to sit by the pool each late afternoon. Air conditioning required asking the front desk to turn it in. Not acceptable. The curtains were coming off the rails. Not acceptable. The wifi was very slow. Not acceptable. Hot water was not very hot. Not acceptable. Noisy neighbours with screaming kids in neighbouring rooms. Not acceptable. Location of Caserta allows easy day trips to Naples, Pompeii and Salerno. Would we stay there again? Probably not.

Room was clean , comfortable, and had all amenities we needed . Air conditioner was initially working but turned off at some point in the middle of the night due to “system overload”. Still the room remained comfortable into the morning . Breakfast was great. Pool wasn’t working during our stay which was extremely disappointing as I had purposely chosen this hotel for the pool given the extreme heat. But it’s t looked nice outside ! Parking underground is a bonus!

Spent the last 2 nights of our Italian holiday in this hotel. Receptio staff very helpful. A bit tricky finding the car park, you have to go down a tunnel to find the large parking lot. We were told it was 10 euros for 24 hours if you were a guest of the hotel. Our room was on the 4th floot, comfortable bed, air conditioning, good sized bathroom. Wi fi provided. The receptionist recommended a lovely restaurant two minutes away from the hotel, and gave us the bus timetable for our bus to the airport, bus station and train station very near hotel so great for getting to Naples and other destinations. Royal Palace is literally on your doorstep. The breakfast is firfst class - amazing selection of meats, hot food, cakes, croissants, breads, etc. Lovely fresh fruit salads, assorted juices etc. Enjoyed some drinks one evening at the bar, served by Marino, the barman, who also worked in the breakfast room each morning. All staff ourteous and friendly. Would agree that the furniture in the room was a little ”Distressed”, not sure if it was old or deliberately meant to look that way, but this was only a minor matter. All in all, good value for money, and the breakfast will keep you going until supper!

It is the level of a fast hotel. It is convenient to make a tip on the road back to Rome. When I first came out of the hotel, the surroundings were dark and it felt very unsafe. I wanted to go to Carrefour to buy something to eat so I went back to the hotel to bear it. Then go out and turn right, turn left at the intersection, and walk to Carrefour. After a 5-minute walk, I arrived at Carrefour and the street became more popular. I took the courage to walk for about 5 minutes and enter the local pedestrian street. Just in time for the weekend, there were more and more people, and I found an inconspicuous restaurant. As a result, the more people came into the night, it turned out to be a small bar for local young people to have supper. I drank a lot and went back to the hotel to sleep, and had a hotel breakfast the next day, which was also a fast hotel standard, *return to Rome. It can only be said that it is a good place to live, no surprises and not too bad.

We have a short stay for the visit to the Rega, booked on the flight while we were already on the journey! We have found a wide availability from the reception, they have booked a place in the garage, they have accepted our dog without overpriced. New hotel of Zecca! Beautiful, elegant and clean. This is very close to the Royal Caserta. Excellent and abundant breakfast. Small fitness room but with what it needs. Very cold in the bathroom but not to die frozen!

It has become our reference point when we go to Caserta. Excellent location just a few meters from the Regia, large, renovated and very clean rooms, breakfast varies and with excellent products. The only neo is the low availability for parking.
