"We stayed in the Holiday Inn Express on Seymour street in North Bay for one night as we travelled south toward home. The hotel has been nicely renovated and our room was really lovely! During these COVID times we had no hesitation about their standards of cleanliness. Having stayed in many hotels over the last 3 weeks of our travel, and having experienced many “bag” breakfasts because of COVID, this breakfast was among the best. The hotel is perfectly situated if you happen to be heading south on highway 11. I definitely recommend this hotel."
"Check-in was very efficient and contactless. Room large and very airy and clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Hotel is near very busy intersection which was under construction at time of visit which made getting into hotel entrance a bit difficult which was not hotels fault. Good location for TransCanada highway. Grab and go breakfast was declined."
"Spent 2 nights there for business trio. Outside the city, some restaurants at walking distance. Could use more cleaning in the room, my bathroom had lots oaf dark dirt behind the bathroom, some black hair also around the bathtub.. Corridors were not that clean because of garbage left by moron customers.. Pillows and beds were comfy though. There was a big mess for the invoice at the checkout as 6 rooms were under my name but we ended up being all the same person when it was time to pay the rooms..."

"Chanced upon this place while looking for a place to eat - local gas station owner pointed me in their direction. The restaurant and suites are situated at an elevation - a point of vantage - overlooking Lake Nipissing. I had spent a couple of days exploring the Lake's surroundings (North Bay, the town of Nipissing itself, etc.) and can safely say that the view from Terrace Suites has got to rank among the very best!! Terrace Suites itself is a picture worthy building set in a scenic setting that I look forward to returning to stay in overnight together with my wife. For this visit I had to satisfy myself with partaking of a delicious lunch of fish (haddock) & chips. I also have no doubt that the very personable couple - Jerry and wife, my bad for not asking her name :( - that runs the establishment provide their guests with a truly welcoming and hospitable environment."
"This is the FIRST time I have ever written a review while STILL in the place. I was so taken by the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the place, and the wonderful suite provided. It had everything we needed and was spacious and very well appointed. WOW. It's November and cold and snowy and we were up here in North Bay on business, but I can imagine it would be absolutely stunning in the summer, just from what I saw as I entered. Exellent, excellent, excellent, is all I can say. A great in=suite fireplace. A spacious suite with everything provided. A great little restaurant with delicious food attached and friendly service. Everything is amazing. Book here and you won't be disappointed. WOW. JUST AMAZING ... a real pleasure."
"I stayed here while on business in North Bay. Usually stay at chain hotels but they were full so I came to Terrace Suites in Callendar. It’s clean, comfortable and quiet at night. The staff are attentive and very friendly. The food at the attached restaurant was above expectations. There is something on the menu to please all tastes. Next time I come to North Bay I will skip the chain hotels and gladly stay here again."

"We stayed at this location overnight this past weekend and found it to be very convenient when traveling with pets. We pre-booked a ground-floor unit with a king bed and fold-out sofa, and were delighted to find that this room had a patio door for easy pet access and parking directly outside that door. Directly off Highway 11, this was easy access to get around where we needed to go. The hotel also had free wifi and a workout room with breakfast included. The rooms are tired. They say non-smoking however we spelled smoke throughout the overnight and in the morning directly in our room. This is definitely a budget location with sparse amenities for shampoo, etc and limited towels and pillows provided. Front desk staff are helpful and will attempt to get you what you need, however there is often only 1 person at the desk even on a Friday night. On a Saturday, the breakfast is only OK. It's mostly cold options with the addition of waffles, 1 pan each of eggs and bacon. Service was poor with delays for filling the trays exceeding 10-12 minutes and when they are "filled" they only fill them halfway at best so they were depleted quickly. If you are in a hurry, this is not a fast breakfast option. Honest opinion."
"This past Friday, I had the misfortune of staying at this location. The room was shabby, with a chipped-paint and broken chair. It is what it is. The bed wasn't horrible. When I turned on the hot water to take a shower in the morning, the room was filled with the overpowering smell of piss. Too disgusted to shower, I packed and went to check out. This is where it gets good. I complained to the two staff at the front desk. They don't say a word. They just process the return of my deposit. After a couple of minutes of silence, I ask if they are going to say anything. I got a mumbled "sorry". When I asked for a refund on the room ($150 ???), I was told that they didn't have the authority. The manager has the authority but doesn't come in until 1:00 p.m. (What? I can only assume that the manager is trying to dodge the inevitable barrage of daily check-out complaints.) I leave. At 1:15, I call back and talk with a rude "acting-manager" (that was clarified to me), who had no apology, but who said that she was aware of the problem, would investigate, and would call me back in 20 minutes. I left my number, the same number on file for the room, and waited. An hour and a half later, after no call, I called back and was told that the manager was "in a meeting". It's two days later, and I never received a call. Comfort Inn, I went out of my way to resolve this issue with your staff, and they went out of their way to avoid me. Based on this experience, we will avoid all Comfort Inns in the future. Incompetent and unprofessional staff, along with worn out and unsanitary rooms, is this really the best you can do?"
"This is a decent little spot to stay in North Bay. Although the rooms are small and the included breakfast is lack lustre...it is made up for by its cleanliness and friendly staff. I would give it a thumbs up for its location as well, just off the highway and close to the University/College."

"We arrived and were checked in immediately, had trouble with the door to our room and quickly the problem was resolved past my expectations. The restaurant at this hotel is amazing, friendly and quick service and the meals are hot. The pool and jacuzzi are clean. Great hotel would definitely be staying here next time in North Bay."
"I had reserved a block of rooms for our hockey team (7 and 8 year old players). I had asked that we all be on the same floor and in the same section together. I didn't think it would happen as it never has in the past. They went ahead and put us all on the same floor at the end of a hallway. Our kids were able to play together and the parents didn't have to worry about where or what room their child was in. It was excellent!"
"This location is a bit of an older building and the room reflects this a bit. With that in mind, I had the best sleep ever in a very comfortable bed. I found all of the staff very friendly and helpful and in fact I am going to say more so than other BW locations I have been to. The price is right at this hotel. I would stay again for sure."

"Saw this place online and wasn't sure, and then read an article in the Toronto Star about road trip to North Bay and to be sure to stay here, so we did! Cute place, we also stayed in Rom 202 - King Bed with Firepace and small balcony that overlook the parking lot, all the rooms do, its like a cool looking old fashion motel, but you do get a partial view of the lake which is nice. The manager was super nice to deal with while booking "Chitan" sorry is I miss-spell, was awesome to deal with and answered all of my many questions. Well priced for what you get at $169 a nite. Room is very clean as is the bathroom, looks like it has just been rennovated, room itself is average, but we enjoyed the stay. Did have a gas fireplace, for looks, as it doesn't generate any heat. White Owl restaurant which got rave reviews in the Star was so so for us and pricey and very loud. Sunset Inn is a great place to stay for a night while you are passing thru North Bay!"
"We booked one night in a fireplace room and had no idea what to expect. Well what a gem of a place this is! The owner greeted us and was so friendly and helpful. The room was just what I wanted Room 202)...a little rustic with a water view! Very clean! It was a beautiful sunny day so we went and sat on the small private beach and had some drinks. Very relaxing. In the evening we went next door to the White Owl Bistro which was as equally fabulous. Can't wait to go back to visit!"
"This is an Amazing place to stay. You can't just stay one night it is so worth staying longer. STAN the owner is an amazing host. He makes sure you have everything you need. Knows the area so he can recommend any place you want to go to eat or have ice CREAM! This place is a Gem. A little quaint with a touch of modern. Very clean everywhere. A must stay. This is my second time here this year. I will be back!!!"

"hotel is surrounded by many restaurants and shops, staff very friendly, breakfast had many options and food was fresh. The lobby always had coffee, tea, fresh fruit and cookies, a nice touch. We used the laundry facilities for washing team uniforms, it was great to have that on-site. The team used the pool, some parents used the fitness room, beds were comfortable, housekeeping was great to bring extra towels when needed too. Just an all around great hotel stay. Thanks :) "
"Stayed for a night, typical nice Hampton. Clean, comfortable bed, good breakfast. Felt comfortable and confident in their covid protocols, with the exception of the elevator. My friend and I got in elevator and another woman came up and we assumed she would wait for the next, she did not, and got in after us and continued to seem like she was struggling to breathe and stand up the entire time. Thankfully we were all masked but elevators should be for only your own party/room, there are two elevators and stairs this isn't unreasonable, and this should be clearly listed outside the elevators."
"I'm picky when it comes to cleanliness about where I stay and the linens used. This hotel met my expectations. I actually had low expectations since I was visiting a smaller city and I've been used to bigger cities, but they definitely met my expectation . "

"The one bedroom suite (#103) was the perfect space for a two night vacation with my husband and 16 mo old son. The small space was laid out very smartly, including a kitchenette with everything you need to eat in (sink, soap, dish towels, cutlery, plates, microwave, toaster, fridge w/ freezer). The bathroom could be accessed from both the living room or bedroom, which was helpful. The staff were very friendly, everything was clean, the price was right and there was a little playground on the premise. Would stay here again!"
"My brother and I stayed there last night. We were shocked when we saw how big our suite was. It was huge! The person at the front desk was friendly and offered suggestions for breakfast the next morning (we got there late after a long drive). The beds were comfortable and there was a bigger kitchen counter top than my kitchen at home; no oven though ( not that we needed an oven). There was microwave, a fridge and a double sided sink. All in all if I am back in North Bay again I will stay there again."
"We stayed here because every other place was completely book. I am so glad we did! It was huge and beautiful! We stayed in the honeymoon suite . It has a beautiful two way fireplace and a hot tub. It was amazing and really great for the price! Everything was clean and looked decent."

"I have stayed here numerous times when I have to work late or the weather is too bad to drive home. The owners are ALWAYS super nice and accommodating when I call them. The rooms are quiet, clean and the beds are comfortable. You are always greeted with a smile. It is a nice break from the big chains. There is a microwave and a fridge in your room if you want to have food there. Drive up to the door, nice little bench to sit outside, picnic area in the summer if you want. Clean, quiet comfortable and affordable. What more could you ask for."
"We were just passing through Ontario from Maine to Michigan and needed a place for the night. This was a great choice. It was very clean, quiet and the owner very friendly and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place for the night. "
"The room was a nice and clean. The room that I had was quite large and had a kitchen that had everything I would have needed. The owners are friendly and very helpful. I will stay there again and recommend it to anyone visiting North Bay."

"Stayed here one night on our way from Alberta to Toronto. Front desk agent was very nice and friendly. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfy. Only complaint was that we were told breakfast ended at 10am, we arrived downstairs before that and it was over. The women cleaning let my son have some juice but that way it. Kind of annoying."
"We were very disappointed with the stay at this hotel in North Bay. It is a very old and very expensive place to stay. The buffet breakfast had very few chairs and tables to accommodate the patrons and we were told that the hotel was booked each night because of the international plowing match in the area. Only about 20 people were able to be seated for breakfast at one time. The rooms were outdated and the bathroom was not the cleanest. we had to plug in the lights and the alarm clock when we checked into the room."
"Even though the outside of this hotel and the grounds are in need of a lot of care the inside seems to of been recently updated and is very nice. Our room on the back side of the hotel was quiet, clean and spacious. The breakfast was what you would expect but the breakfast area is quite small. It has a pool but the hot tub was out of order. The staff were nice to us and helpful about explaining how to get around town. If a map of North Bay was available that would of been very helpful. This hotel was a good value."
