"My family spent 5 nights while on a ski trip with another family. This was our first time at Pinei & their second stay but we found this cozy spot to be a perfect location away from the hustle of downtown Ortisei or Santa Christina. The hotel’s shuttle service to Ortisei ski gondola lift makes it so easy to enjoy this hotel’s location on a hill top with its scenic view. In addition to the fitness room and sauna/pool/massage services available, the ski room has ski racks & boot drying features which make it so convenient and pleasant for extended stay at this hotel. We opted for 3/4 board option, which covered full breakfast & dinner plus mid-day snack and we were so glad with our choice. Breakfast is a full course, lunch including eggs, pastry but most importantly, self served fresh squeezed OJ always !! Dinner is equally delicious full fare of made-to-order 3 course plus a full salad bar, making one’s stay here very challenging not to indulge after a long day on the slopes. We had a family room that was comfortable and spacious, particularly the upstairs space. There is a self service laundry option as well. The only disappointment was our neighbors in an adjacent room snoring really loud or coughing that we could hear at times. Overall, we were delighted to discover this hotel and would highly recommend to others without reservation. "
"We were so happy we chose this hotel. It is located above the town of Ortesei, but remote enough to feel like a retreat, with incredible views of the valley and mountains. The hotel has wonderful amenities, and is especially well set up for families, with several pools and lovely gardens with play equipment. We found ourselves planning our next trip there with future grandchildren, and we have to travel all the way from Sydney, Australia. The hiking opportunities in the Dolomites can keep you occupied for weeks. Our favourite was one of the walks at the top of the Col Raiser cable car."
"This is our second year coming to hotel Pinei and we absolutelly love it. It was great last year but this year they have expanded their spa and now it is a dream come true. Everything is super clean, everybody is very helpfull and kind and you just feel very special there. I will continue coming there with my family."

"We stayed here as the first leg of our honeymoon and were very, very impressed - we will certainly be coming back! The setting and rooms are immaculate and the hotel has a relaxing aura. In particular I have to highlight the quality of the food available. We took the half-board option meaning breakfast and dinner were included and the menus available each evening were just superb, as well as having a number of excellent options on the a la carte at no extra cost. The pasta courses each evening were some of the best pasta dishes we have ever eaten! The wine list is extensive and with a good range of options. In particular I must mention Sorina, Manuel and Alexander from the restaurant who looked after us brilliantly. Finally to anyone thinking of visiting I would recommend taking the walk on the first day with the hotel's guide (Hannes). It was a great way to discover the local area which then allowed us to plan our walking routes for the next day, as well as an e-bike excursion. The hotel has it's own bikes which you can rent for the day which is a must do. All in all a terrific hotel and one I will certainly return to."
"I’ve been visiting the Italian Dolomites for over 12 yrs since moving to Italy as my husband’s family has a long tradition here. As our family has grown (with two girls 3yrs and 6yrs) our needs have changed and whilst we still love trekking we also like family friendly places where we can enjoy ourselves together. Tirler is ideal if you have young children as they have created an adventure playground in the heart of the forest with a witches trail, giant swing, bridges, tree houses and hidden dens. My girls love it! Outside the restaurant area is a great play park with animals where you can happily spend a few hours until the last bus home. This summer we spent over 3 wks in the area and came back at least 5 afternoons to eat and play. Our friendly waiter “Moritz” was lovely and very happy to practise his English with us. And the friendly witch “Coredina” played with the children for hours. Thanks Tirler for helping us relax and enjoy the mountains!"
"We just stayed 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tirler. The hotel has a calm quiet vibe while also being kid friendly at the same time. The heated pool and adventure playground were all big hits with our 6 year old. The meals in the restaurant were great and there are so many options on the menu. We rented e mtn bikes one day and I would definitely recommend that - it's a great way to get around and see the area."

"This trip is considered to be a more expensive hotel, but the room is the lowest cost-effective. The room is super small and very tasteless. Below the window of the room is the entrance and exit of the parking lot. Look at the official website map. It's the house, in the middle of the two rows of houses. The service staff of the hotel are very polite, but the room facilities are really bad, so I am really not satisfied!"

"My partner and I decided on the Dolomites for our first ski trip outside Australia based on recommendations of the area and the vast array of skiing available. Given we were traveling at peak season, we chose to stay a week at Hotel Touring and it exceeded all expectations. Pre-trip, the hotel were quick to respond to any questions I had over email, regarding ski passes and arrangement of lessons. A quick note to those traveling to the area for the first time; book the Dolomiti Super Pass so you can ski around the mountain. If you book your ski pass more than 2 business days in advance, the hotel will have it waiting for you when you arrive, which was really convenient. With ski lessons, book via the link the hotel sends you for the St Christina ski school. Not being familiar with the area, we pre-booked lessons in Selva, which was too far away, so we had to give them up. Access to the mountain is via a chairlift that is 100m away (take this one if you want to start on the easier runs), or there is a free shuttle the hotel provides that takes you to the Sasslong gondola, literally a 5 minute drive. The shuttle service was incredible; not only did they drop you off in the morning, you could also text to be collected by 5pm from the apres ski bar each evening. Breakfast and dinner was included each day, the quality was impeccable and the staff were attentive, professional and fun. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quite large and there is a separate ski room to store your skis and boots each evening. We chose the free parking, which was right next to the hotel and super convenient. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to check out the spa/sauna area...next time! All in all, an unforgettable experience. We were really sad to leave and hopefully we will be back some day! "
"We thought the room we had at this hotel was a good value for the price. The hotel sits right in the heart of Santa Cristina. It was easy to ski downhill to the lift, and a short uphill walk back. Our room was relatively small and uncarpeted. I thought the bed was very hard and the pillows not very soft. I found out later that I should have asked for a topper for the bed to make it softer. The rooms were soundproof, which was really nice. We thought everyone who worked at the hotel was very friendly and went out of their way to please. We liked all of our waiters. We thought that the food was excellent, so we would definitely recommend getting half board. Most of the staff was not very fluent in English. I wanted porridge made with water but that was going to be impossible to get. The stainless steel rooftop pool with changing colored lights was stunning, and we enjoyed the textile sauna next to it too. We did not try out the adult saunas. There are two things that I would suggest. First, the ski room was an absolute mess, heavily used, very crowded all the time with everyone's equipment, and there was garbage laying around and puddles all over the floor that never got cleaned up. This area needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. Be aware that the hotel has no fitness room and no place to stretch. Parking and loading/unloading is an adventure, but that's Italy! I will definitely never forget the Hotel Touring Dolomites' wonderful breakfast croissants filled with apricot. Those almost make up for any deficiencies!"
"A family ran hotel where there is great attention to detail in every corner. The lovely owners are present and at your service all the time with great suggestions for day trips etc. The food is excellent and the service is friendly and everything is delivered with a smile. The son of the owners works in the restaurant and will happily share stories about the culture of the region with you. The Wine list is perfect with lots of local focus. The breakfast is generous and will surely give you enough energy to do Sella Ronda. The rooms are cosy and the cleaning is all you could ask for. The hotel has a spa area which is great, but it might come as a chock that it is men and women together, naked! Haha! A little odd but well in line with the sauna culture. We also thought it was strange that kids were not welcome at the spa. There could be hours for families, or certain days maybe. In all, a great choice and good value for money! Next year we hope that the hotel will have a shuttle to the Sass longo cabin!"

"This area of the Dolomites is stunning. It is regrettable that these glorious mountains and valleys are not a bit more accessible, but the Hotel Al Forte makes the tedious drive into the area worth the time and effort. The staff -- especially Neno and Lilly in the dining room -- are absolutely the best that we've encountered in many years of traveling. The chef is very good and his breakfasts and dinners are varied, consistently delicious, and more than ample; his pastas are superb; at all breakfasts and dinners, one is tempted to overindulge. The rest of the staff are very good and Luca, at the front desk, is most helpful and congenial. The Waillant family deserves accolades for restoring the old fortress into its current condition and usage after its destruction in the fighting in this area during Great War. As Americans with much experience in the Italian Alps, we were delighted to discover this area of the Dolomites and this pleasant, comfortable hotel."
"We had a wonderful week here in mid February staying in a newly refurbished junior suite, with a fabulous view from our balcony. The beautifully restored hotel has very welcoming staff and is situated a few kilometres away from the village centre and lifts, however the shuttle system they offer is excellent. The food on offer was more than adequate albeit a little limited for vegetarians. The service was impeccable. All in all we would love to return in the future. "
"We had a fantastic stay at the hotel Al Forte. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is lovely with a historic, rustic feel and we loved the health spa with sauna. The evening meals were varied, enjoyable and sociable. Minibus transfers straight to and from the lifts were fast and efficient. The skiing was superb and the sun shone all week! Thank you to all the team at the hotel. "
