Top 10 Crown Center Hotels

Built in the mid 1920s, this beautiful small hotel has been well maintained, or nicely restored. It is immaculate and clean. Our room (206) was very nice and furnished as it would have been when the hotel was built. The king sized bed was so comfortable. The location is convenient with on-site parking. This is not the Waldorf, but very nice! The bar is eloquent and the bar tender is excellent. The restaurant focuses on sushi.... I’m not a raw fish lover, so we ate elsewhere. The staff is overly accommodating and warm. My wife and I enjoyed and appreciated our stay in the Deland Hotel.

I would like to update my review for the Westin Lake Mary, which previously had been satisfactory. It is no longer satisfactory. The Westin has joined the growing list of hotels which find it acceptable to dispense with the Housekeeping staff. I’m not clear whether this policy exists only on weekends, but it is appalling nonetheless. For some bizarre reason, the Westin told us when we checked in for the weekend that the room wouldn’t be cleaned until we checked out…..seriously?! Thank you Westin for blaming it on the pandemic….aren’t there enough things being blamed on the pandemic? Do we really need to invent more? We begged and begged the front desk, but to no avail. I even told them that they’d get a poor review because of this. They didn’t care. Apparently, the housekeeping staff has been drastically reduced. Why? Who knows? One would think that during a pandemic, there would be extra employees on staff in order to help keep things sanitized. Mind you, our nightly room rate was not at all reduced for this lack of essential service. Nor did it matter that I have been a Marriott/Westin Rewards member for at least the past 30 years. To be clear, our nightly rate was close to $200 per night….equal to or even exceeding what it was before they stopped providing essential cleaning services. Am I the only one who doesn’t to pay $200 per night, only to live with empty pizza boxes and wet towels on the floor inside and outside the rooms? This hotel was basically average before this so-called no-cleaning policy was established. Now it has plummeted to poor.

This is our second visit at this particular Hampton Inn & Suites, and we returned with good reason. The staff is friendly and eager to help, the rooms are clean and quiet (yes, even during Bike Week!), and the breakfast is delicious. The fitness room is also well-equipped. Good location, too, with restaurants and stores close by, as well as the historic downtown area. The hotel also is pretty much a straight shot of about 18 minutes to the speedway in Daytona, and well-positioned to easily access other communities/parks, etc. in the area.

While it is a decent enough hotel, and the room was acceptable, it was made way worse that they do not do daily room cleans, not even emptying trash!! As well, I had to alway go to the front desk for coffee packets for the room, because they don't even replenish the room stocks. There was barely anyone in the hotel while I stayed and honestly, I think they could have planned to have housekeeping daily while I stayed. I won't return.

Nice hotel room is nice and clean. It is located at the exit of the expressway. Convenient facilities and decoration are in line with the positioning service. Good parking is free. But because the business is good, the location is tight, but it is possible to stop breakfast and compare it with the United States. More taste is also good, the service staff is very friendly, there is a restaurant near the hotel but it is a nice place to be deserted.

The swimming pool was not heated, so it was too cold to swim in. 😕
