"Stay Report - 7/6 - 7/7 Location: The hotel is located in a small office park about 10 minutes north of Downtown Columbus. It's nice because the area is very quiet at night though you cannot walk anywhere so you'll need a car. On the other side of US 80 is a shopping center with a Target and a few restaurants. Do note that on the drive to the hotel some of the turns are hard to see at night as they aren't well signed. Hotel: The hotel is a larger HGI than some of the other suburban ones. it has several large banquet halls and meeting space in the lobby. The parking lot outside is large enough and there's a very attractive lobby which has the restaurant and bar and a small sundry store behind the front desk. There's also a business center and outdoor pool. Check In: A friendly agent handled check in, thanked me for being Diamond and asked how many keys I wanted. Room: The room was a nicer design than I'm used to at HGIs and had really good light along with a large TV, large desk area, outlets near the bed and a nice bathroom. Dining: The hotel is not able to serve food at this time but they are doing a grab and go breakfast bag. Overall this is a good option for Columbus. It's quieter and newer than the Doubletree. I'd be back. "
"This hotel sits next to a small lake in a commercial area near Columbus proper. The hotel was clean, staff friendly, and the amenities were good - given the pandemic. Pool was closed, unfortunately, and much of the sitting areas were limited. The rooms were very clean and were pandemic proofed as much as possible. Even the television controllers were wrapped. The room had plenty of storage, contained a fridge, writing desk, lots of usb and good WiFi. Loved the lamps, which helped this old married couple whose sleeping patterns do not always match. The staff was very friendly and seemed very competent. Good stay! "
"My family has stayed here for years and used to love this property. Sadly, it has fallen into disrepair and suffers from poor management. On our recent stay, we rented four rooms and a banquet room. The rooms were dirty. The air conditioning vents were literally caked with dust and grime that has to be years old. The sinks didn't drain properly. The bedside lights were inoperable. The A/C cover literally fell off onto the floor one nigh and you could really see just how dirty the unit was. The windows were so filthy you couldn't enjoy what we know is a beautiful view of the lake. On three different occasions a staff member called "maintenance" to address a problem. Since "maintenance" never showed, we decided he was actually a ghost and that the staff just humored guests by pretending he was real. I heard two different guests checking out who were complaining of roach infestations in their rooms (We did NOT have this problem). Hotel appears to be understaffed and the existing staff just really isn't that helpful - probably are overworked. We won't be back. So sad."
