"While this is a good hotel, as are most of the hotels in the Marriott chain, the walk-in showers are not safe. During my stay the evening of March 17, 2020, one of the heavy glass shower doors came out of the track when my wife tried to slide it open and fell against the inside wall of the shower stall. Luckily, she was not inside the shower at the time and the door did not shattered. I notified the desk clerk, and with her help was able to left to heavy glass door back into the track. I noted that there was no safety guard to keep the doors from coming out of the track. This problem needs immediate attention by management before someone is seriously injured."
"This hotel is quite new and very clean. Carpets in hallways and in room are modern and clean. Our room had very comfortable beds and nice linens and pillows. Mini-microwave and fridge in room with nice sized tv and cable channels with HD and good reception. Hotel offered a very good full breakfast with coffee, breads, eggs, bacon/sausage, cereals and pancakes. Reception desk service was welcoming and prompt. Easy access from I-40 but you must drive to other dining locations from this hotel. This is a good value hotel."
"I was recently in Gallup teaching a class for work. The staff at this location are extremely helpful, professional, and courteous. They most definitely go above and beyond. The rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is free and has a variety of options, and the coffee is flowing all day long. I would highly recommend this location to anyone traveling through Gallup."

"My family and I stayed here when we were in the midst of moving from our home in the area. The staff was absolutely amazing! The check-in staff made it a point to build relationship with my daughter who loved walking by the front desk to see her “friends”. The breakfast staff was also amazing, especially Christopher. I have stayed at many Hilton properties over the years, as I am a diamond member through Hilton properties, and this was easily a top five experience in customer service!"
"This is a regular stop on trips in the Gallup NM area. This is the first time however to use the kitchen and lounge area and it was very refreshing to have a great meal at a hotel. The staff on this stay were outstanding. From the Receptionist to the Host in the lounge / dining area. This is one hotel that I recommend without a second thought."
"This is a super nice Hilton Garden Inn. I have stayed here in the past and will always stay here when traveling through the area! The rooms are super nice and comfortable. The facility is in a great location. The parking lot is well lit. The breakfast was really good as we had fresh food and not just a continental breakfast."

"I lost my kitty last week when I stayed here. She slipped out of my room. I was heartbroken. When I told the front desk clerk, she spread the word. No luck. Before I left, she told me to go talk to Jeannie in the kitchen. Jeannie told me if my kitty were found, she would take her home and keep her safe till I could go back and get her. Well, kitty was found 2 days later in another room. Jeannie kept her promise; it was almost 6 days before I got kitty back with me. I am so thankful."
"We hit the ground running for 36 hours in Gallup and the hotel was a perfect break between two days of shopping. Courteous staff, spotless rooms, quiet LARGE rooms. We even made it to breakfast which we both enjoyed. Will be back to Gallup more often now that we know we know where to stay"

"Traveling for work, especially during a pandemic, can be a bit unnerving. However, the caring staff, the cleanliness of the property, and the array of amenities on site make me want to return for leisure. Crystal and the entire front desk team made me feel comfortable from the moment I checked in. Anytime I needed anything - including when a circuit went out in my room - they immediately provided support. The cleaning crew did an amazing job sanitizing everything multiple times a day. And, since I stayed there for a significant period of time, having the full kitchen in my suite and the laundry room in the building, enabled me to fully focus on my work. I used the gym when it was empty and you could see that it was constantly being cleaned. I was also glad that all staff and guests were required to wear masks for safety, as several healthcare workers were also staying at the hotel. When I was preparing to check out, Crystal and her team made me feel extra special with beautiful and thoughtful parting gifts. If you are just passing through on a road trip or planning to stay for a significant period of time, I highly recommend TownPlace Suites. The staff truly goes the extra mile to make guests feel safe and comfortable and the amenities are fantastic for what you pay."
"The bed was comfortable, the room was setup very nicely to maximize storage space, and the breakfast was great. The room was warm when we entered, and we had no issues with heat even though the low was 0 degrees outside (we're from Florida so like the room pretty warm). I loved all of the tables and closet space. Breakfast as fresh and hot, and the attendant made sure it stayed that way. I would definitely stay here again."
"Very friendly hotel that is recently built. Check in was easy, and room was clean and I felt safe. Having a kitchen with refrigerator and real glasses made being on the road comfortable during this stressful time. Walking distance to several restaurants so was able to park my car after a long day of driving."

"After a long drive with our 3 kids we were disappointed to be told we couldn’t have a baby crib. We were told there was one available but because there was only one person working they could not leave the desk. While we understand she could not leave it, it left us without a bed for our three month old. We booked through a third party website and didn’t have an option to leave a note or reserve a crib. We tried calling on the way but there was no service for most of the drive. Then when we did get through to the hotel, it kept going to an pre-recorded message and said there was an error. So we did try in advance to get a crib. The lady at the desk did not come across compassion to our situation and came off more scolding than helpful. It’s unfortunate that policy limited her from giving us a crib to take up ourselves. Then she added information, telling my husband that she didn’t think they cleaned the cribs so we wouldn’t want one anyway! In our room, it was spacious and fairy clean however a hand towel had mascara residue one one side and light brown spots in the other. The pull out couch bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. I could feel every single spring digging into my ribs and hips. Fun times. We paid for a restful night after a long drive but no crib and a bad pull out mattress made things harder and less restful. The queen beds were very soft. So that was nice for our other family members. "
"We had an excellent stay for 1 night. The room was spotlessly clean and very nicely decorated. Features included excellent mattresses and bedding, great lighting, bedside outlets, safe, full-length mirror, small fridge, microwave, and coffee-maker, easy check-in, luggage carts, fast elevator, interior corridors, fast access to the Interstate, but very quiet due to insulated windows and privacy curtain. Right behind the famous Route 66 hotel, El Rancho. Indoor pool and hot tub were great after hiking. Breakfast was good, including scrambled eggs, sausages, home fries, tortillas, waffles, oatmeal, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, breads, cinnamon sticky buns, juices, etc. Andy and Eileen were particularly helpful, and we appreciated the upgrade to a junior suite. Highly recommended! "
"Very nice hotel in the middle of town. Rooms are clean and well designed. They have a row of can lights right over the beds, just about the best reading light I have seen in a hotel. Mattresses are soft foam, we had a wonderful nights sleep. Window open so you can get fresh air, nice, and rare in New hotels these days. You can hear the trains, but it's quiet if you close the window. Good breakfast, cute dining area. Front desk was friendly and efficient. Two things kept me from rating this property a 5: 1) Couldn't use pool and hot tub because it was overly full of kids swimming in street clothes. When they left, dirty clothes were all over, saftey life rings were taken off wall and left floating in pool. Socks were in the bottom of the hot tub. 2) Back security door had been propped open with rocks. We moved the rocks and closed the door, but it felt a bit unsafe."

"There was a lot of external lighting and no curtains to shut it out. The fridge was also loud but at least I could unplug it. The breakfast was very skimpy as well. The bed was comfortable and, for the price, it wasn't a bad experience, just an adequate one."
"The hair drier in the bathroom didn't work. The toilet rocked. The WiFi was spotty and slow even though multiple connections were supposedly available. The outside door was extremely difficult to open and close. Most likely, the track needed cleaning."
"Made reservations, travelling with pets. Website said pet friendly, no pet policy or charge described. We usually do La Quinta for free pets and always nice. This Days Inn shows as a Whyndam property. Don't be fooled! Privately owned by some Indian company. We thought the place was closed because there were no cars in the lot. Now we know why. The rudest receptionist I've ever encountered! Then comes the $15 per pet charge. Told her it's not shown on their site, but in usual smugness she says we always charge, everybody does. I challenged that and she waived me off. This woman is the poster child for "should never work in the service industry ". Told her I was not paying a charge that was not identified. In the end, she said F.U. to me. Good job! Empty parking lot, be warned."

"Very warm hotel, a solid old gem of a building. It is a very clean building, and very clean cute room (with no weird smells). We are staying in room 109 “Doris Day” room. These rooms are updated and comfortable! Surprised! The bed is plush and comfortable, with crisp sheets and plush pillows. There is a nice flat screen tv. You can’t hear street traffic or the train like I imagine some hotels here do since they are so close to the tracks. We ate “to go” since we were here during the covid . YUM. I had cheese enchiladas with *delicious* green chili ... wow I really liked that green chili. They have a great local beer selection available as well (we tried SantaFe brewing and Cumbre). The women at the front desk were friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. The security guard was friendly as well. We are truck drivers and we will definitely be back! Awesome! Thanks !"
"Having spent night in Gallup along famed Route 66, someone told us about the El Rancho Hotel and that John Wayne use to stay there while filming westerns in the nearby desert. We were able to see Room 100, where JW stayed while there. When we met the manager, Teena Carney, she filled us in on some of the John Wayne lore. Seems movie companies filmed for 3 days then the crew stayed at the hotel for 4 days. ....all this in the late 30s and early 40s. A livery stable and bunkhouse were out back and Miss Carney has found treasures there. Cowboys actually rode horses into the bar area. Being a huge John Wayne fan, I could feel his presence. Other stars stayed there during various films being shot in the area and have their names on the doors"
"I was here about 13 years ago and the h/motel was a dump. They’ve invested in renovation and for the price, this is the best deal around. Service is attentive which you don’t get everywhere in New Mexico. It’s clean. Rooms are modern-ish. The lobby is amazing. Huge fireplace. Balconies. Memorabilia of the great Western age around Gallup. We stayed in the John Wayne room. And to get breakfast included for 3 for $59 a night is crazy. The parking lot is one giant pothole, but I’ll forgive that since that’s pretty much the entire state’s road system. "

"We were traveling from Tennessee to Arizona and stayed only at Hampton Inns because the hotels are usually always clean and have great staff. This hotel had Jessica at check in, she is very nice and checked us in quickly. The hotel was clean as well as the room. Beds were comfortable and we had a great night’s sleep. They also have an indoor pool and a hot tub. The hotel is very close to I 40. The breakfast in the morning was very fresh and hot. Rayshell checked us out in the morning and is very friendly as well. Checkout was quick and we were on our way. Nice hotel to stay at if you’re in the area."
"We use this hotel because it is conveniently located to where our family lives. Otherwise I would be tempted to stay at the east side Hampton because it is newer. But everything was nice here, except the one day we had brown water, that I believe was the city's fault. The hotel staff was on it and offered free bottled water. The breakfast was nice, better than some hotels not as good as others. The food was good and I liked the fact they had sack, to-go bags, ready for you to just grab if you don't have time sit and eat."
"We have stayed at many different places on our travels. Hampton Inn is one of our favorites. Pleasant and helpful staff, clean rooms, prices are good. We have never had any problems with Hampton Inn. We would highly recommend Hampton Inn when traveling."

"I booked this room for January 4th, 2020 not knowing there was a wedding going on. They had kids running up and down the hallways. Banging on walls and screaming. The noise was unbearable, there were kids in the room upstairs that were jumping up and down until 1am. Drunks and kids were up laughing and screaming at 2am. Only reason I give this a 2 star is because the gentleman at the front desk was very apologetic, and very professional. I got zero sleep, finally got up at 3:30am and left for my 11 hr trip back to central California. Call ahead and make sure they don’t have an event going on. I will start at a different hotel from now on. Gallup is my halfway point from Texas where my husband is currently working."
"I liked the property but in the middle of the night when the heat turned of the system started bangin and making noise which kept waking us up. The room 2101. Everything else was nice. The lobby had interesting art and the room decor was cute. Was charged for an incorrect check in date and could not get a refund so watch reservation systen carefully. Would have given better rating if it was not for the noise and mixup"
"The check in was quick and I was excited at first because the inside looked good, but when I went to look for my room, it was hard for me to find my room because the lights were off in the hallway. There were tapping noises all over. I understand that there’s maintenance going on, but I don’t know what that tapping noise was, but it sure did kept me up. There’s no vents in the bathroom, and it stunk all the time, you can hear the next two door giggles and conversations. I’ve read some good experiences in this place, but honestly this is probably by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had."

"Ideal for a one-night stay when road-tripping. Convenient location, all amenities we look for including CLEAN, with good WiFi & a great king bed! Breakfast was not available due to COVID-19 but staff were ++ apologetic (*not their fault)"
"Overnight stay Very nice clean stay. Front desk experience was exceptional the room was clean and easy location. Really easy access to HWY 40 will definitely stay there again on traveling through Gallup"
"Pros: Room was very clean. Rest of property seemingly well maintained. Surprisingly quiet. Easy access to highway Priced accordingly Cons: Front desk guy was sketchy Free breakfast- meh (horrible coffee) Lack of eateries nearby No screen on window - window lock was barely a lock TV remote worthless even with new batteries This is the kind of place you sleep, shower and skedaddle With all due respect to the fine people of Gallup. It's a stopover like Barstow and Kingman."
