This was a perfect location to stay while visiting our son in Mt. Arlington. We had never been to New Jersey before. With the exception (unexplained..) of the fire alarm going off one night, this hotel was one of the QUIETEST places we've ever stayed. (Even though, I learned they had 3 wedding groups staying there). It's far back off the road, and next to a Hilton Homewood suites. The king-sized room was just right for 2 people. It has a pull out sofa but IMO (3) people would NOT be comfortable in the room, it's way too small. Very nice kitchen amenities (even a dishwasher), could allow 1-2 people to stay here several weeks if needed. We didn't use the pool (it has ALOT of restrictions during these Covid times). The room / hotel was impeccably clean. Very large parking lot (shared between the 2 hotels). Though the bathroom is small, due to the closet design, there's a long closet between the bathroom and the kitchen area (helping with air flow). Bed super comfortable and the shower was amazing. 2 ”less than great” things are: there's no housekeeping service during covid times (I did not want it DAILY, but believed it was 'on request'. ). You can get a towel refresh and shampoo, etc. but that's it. The breakfast (grab and go), like another writer mentioned, was just ...not good. The odd thing was that everything is individually wrapped (even the slices of bread to toast!) but: you're still touching the toaster handle, the microwave handle and buttons, etc. (doesn't make much sense). There were whole apples (maybe small fruit cups would be better) and the waffles did not taste good at all. Butter patties were frozen. Individual yogurts were a good idea, and the juice was good. Coffee is available 24/7. There were also some kind of breakfast sandwiches to ”nuke” but they didn't look good to me. IMO breakfast closed early on a weekend: 9am. A high point - the laundry room is very nice, very clean. But BE PREPARED with quarters -- it's $1.50 per load to wash or dry. (I always bring laundry pods and dryer sheets). Nearby: there is Rockaway Mall which (contrary to what another writer said) is really big (but fairly devoid of people). There are some restaurants around, and a Costo. But if you are used to buying alcohol / beer / wine etc. at a grocery store, you can't in NJ. We were dissappointed to find that the Shop Rite 'package store' section closed at 8pm on a Sunday. This hotel and the Hilton, do not have bars or restaurants on site. OVERALL -- very impressed with the hotel, and if you stay in Rockaway (not Dover), the area is very nice. We would 100% stay here again.

Probably a 3.5 rating. It's clean & seems pretty new. The room had a kitchen area with a microwave & a stovetop, but no oven. In my room, the refrigerator is decent, but the doors open the wrong way. There are a few cooking utinsels, silverware, glasware. The thing to cook there would be TV dinners & not much more. The room is smallish, at least a standard room, but it has enough to get by. There is a table & chairs that can be used for dining. There's also a comfy-looking upholstered chair that has a very big arm on the left side & a normal sized arm on the right side. For someone left handed, their arm is trapped in a sense by the high side of the chair. There's a llamp behind that chair, so it's likely good for reading, save for the weird chair. There is also a reading lamp on each side of each bed, so there's a lot of light. There ought to be a few more plugs including for USB cords, of which there aren't any. The WiFi is fine & the TVi was also fine, with a decent selection of chaaannels. There's also an iron/board available. The beds were comfortable. The batroom has a full tub, which is a fading thing these days. The sink is outside the tub & toilet, so it can be used seperately. The sink could use a towel bar/ring nearby as there is no place there to hang a towel. The drain closer unit for the tub was broken, but managed to hold water. The tub did drain well, which is not always so in hotels. There's an unusual closet there that I can't really describe. There's no dresser for folding clothes/socks except the night stand. The closet has some shelves for that I guess. The closet is unusual as noted, with a lot of wasted space. The free breakfast was mediocre, though COVID may still be a factor. The breakfast area is very small for the size of the hotel. I could see it getting over-run if a lot of the guests arrived at once. I've stayed at a lot of different Marriott hotels & this breakfast was among the poorest. They had no butter. It seems that someone could simply go to a COSTCO or Restaurant Depot for that. Also, no english muffins. The only toastable item were individual slices of plain white bread., without butter. There was no make-your-own waffle option either. The indoor pool is nice. I don't know if there's a small gym area. Parking seems adequate. I saw an outdoor grill available. Also during our stay, the smoke alarm went off each moring & the fire department had to be summoned to turn it off. There was no fire. This isn't necessarily the fault of the hotel, but one of the times we were still asleep. Maybe a guest was cooking to make up for the inadequate breakfast.

I loved using the Wilshire for my wedding hotel block. We had a lovely welcome dinner for our out of town guests which was so not only convenient, but also lovely. Food was a buffet, we had a bar with beer and wine, and the lighting/atmosphere was beautiful. Not everything was perfect (things happen) but the customer service went above and beyond. They made sure to correct their errors, give refunds where appropriate and were so kind and made me feel much better. The lobby was also great for larger groups to gather and enjoy some extra time before and after the wedding events. I would definitely recommend them!!

Facility a little old, could hear water rushing in the pipes. A large party breaking up at 2AM woke us up. A/C was good. Overall very clean. Appreciated the breakfast, but the coffee wasn’t good. Just being honest!

I expected a tad more for the money I paid here. I had thought Livingston - so more upscale of rooms...and I even paid for one of the newer rooms. It was clean and I appreciate that and I had zero noise at night so that was great. I was apprehensive upon check-in b/c when we parked, there was a guy smoking **** in his car next to us. On check-in they give you a waiver to sign - a very long waiver so I read it. Part of it was you had to request housekeeping the night before (no big deal) - but there was a very large section on parties. Zero tolerance for it and will be fined or even kicked out for multiple calls. I applaud that aspect but I started questioning why there was a long waiver for that. THEN, the guy said it's an extra $75/night (that will be refunded to you if you cause no trouble). Which set off red flags for me - obviously, they've had a lot of problems in the past. In the room - there is also a sign that if you smoke **** (or anything) in the room you're being fined. Now - all that said - we had zero problems - but also not too busy when we were there. The hotel is large and definitely can host weddings / conferences so this is one way for them to limit the noise violations - or smoking/drunkenness. Again - I applaud that b/c I want to be able to sleep at night. Overall - average hotel that I think is in a bit of a need of an upgrade.

My wife, Elizabeth, and I have spent several vacation stops at The Westminster Hotel. We find it to be warm, welcoming, comfortable and restful every time. The staff is professional and the accommodations second to none. The recently renovated restaurant provides daily breakfasts in a buffet style which caters to every taste. The fact that my daughter, lives close to the hotel, just increases our overall satisfaction. I would recommend the facility to everyone who desires comfortable and friendly experiences at a “home away from home.” Grade A+

Always my go to Location when I'm in the area. What I like the most is the easy access off of route 80, the parking lot is large enough to park oversized vehicles. The rooms have been updated, and the staff always will try to accommodate my requests. I've used the Ford room for my Company meetings the room is clean and ready when I arrive, Although the staff as changed over time. I do miss Danelle she worked the front desk on the evening shift she was great ! The gentleman on the front desk over night is pleasant I usually get a ”have a good day” from him when I'm sneaking out in the early morning. I did have an interaction recently with the young lady on the front desk with the dog. I was trying to get the dogs attention, she asked please don't talk to the dog and went on to tell me that her dog was a service animal. her tone seemed abrasive at first, then I realized there is a reason why she has the dog with her. I told her I was sorry and to have a good night. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Reviews From Real Travelers
We're Bonvoy members because we like Westins. According to the Marriott corporate website, the Marriott brand and the Westin brand are both considered “Premium” Bonvoy properties. As such we expected a similar level of service to what we've received staying in Westin properties. Unfortunately this particular Marriott is a stunning disappointment. We arrived at the property for check-in to find there was no valet parking. They charge a parking fee of $15.00US, which they charged by default, even if you have no vehicle there. Several of our friends who arrived by taxi had been charged. They had to call back and get the charges removed. In addition, there was no staff at all to assist with baggage. Everyone had to haul their own. There was an exciting scavenger hunt to find a luggage cart whenever you needed one. The rooms are clean and present well. I appreciate that there are walk-in showers instead of tubs. I question the choice to use a vinyl composite flooring instead of carpet. The hard surface makes the room noisy, the floor cold, and has a very “Super 8” feel to it. As with the Westins, the beds are quite comfortable. We originally intended a 7 night stay, but due to reservation issues we opted to cut back to 5 nights. I've called the property a dozen times over the course of 14 months to reserve a hospitality suite for the week. The sales manager here is either incompetent, lazy or both. In that 14 month window she was unable to fulfill even this exceedingly basic request. She ignored every single one of Marriott's 5 core values and ruined a trip we've been planning for three years. Our first experience with the on-site dining elicited a mixed reaction. The food was better than expected, and our server was extremely accommodating. We had a table that ended up being 12 people (started with 6, expanded as additional people arrived). Some left and others took their spots. All told we were there about 2-1/2 hours. The hostess was quite cranky, apparently it was inconvenient for her that we were still buying drinks and chatting. She pointed out a few times that we couldn't stay long, as she had another group coming in. That struck us as odd, as she'd told us earlier that they don't take reservations. Even our server was getting annoyed with her, probably afraid she was ruining his tips. We found that breakfast service is short, closing by 9:30, and the staff member in charge of the lobby coffee was quite anxious to shut off the coffee machine Friday morning, even though several of us were gathered in the lobby chatting and...wait for it...drinking coffee. Apparently she was afraid the guests would avail themselves of...guest amenities? There was no coffee service at all on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Hotel tip: Anyone staying at a property Marriott considers “Premium” shouldn't have to order coffee delivered. The convention space is nice. It's smaller than most I've been to, and really too small for the convention we were attending. That

This hotel does everything well. We had a large party and booked a reservation for dinner at one of the on-site restaurants- The Auld Shebeen, a terrific little authentic Irish Pub. We were placed in a semi-private room, which was wonderful. The food was terrific, the service impeccable. Our rooms were well-appointed. Breakfast buffet in the morning was also standout for a chain hotel buffet. Front desk service was friendly. The lobby was very nice. Would highly recommend this hotel, and will return.
