"We came here as a grown up family of 5 and my daughter’s dog to get away for a few days. We have been absolutely blown away by the friendliness and comfort of this establishment. We arrived before our check in time and the person on reception went out of her way to check to see if we could have our rooms early, unfortunately not, they had not been deep cleaned by this stage. We did manage to check in a little later albeit still earlier than our agreed time. We had a drink in the bar and we were all looked after really well in a very friendly professional manner, including Milo the dog who was presented with a bowl of water and some fussing from the staff member. The room was very well presented and was in character of the style of the property. The bed was enormous and very comfortable, there was plenty of drawers and wardrobe space to accommodate all of my wife’s “extra” clothing and even had enough room for me to store my stuff too, bonus! The bar and lounge areas were very comfortable and allowed us all, including Milo, to sit together. We spent quite a bit of time sitting in there playing cards and other family games together, I won 2 of the games. The surrounding area was a delight to go for a dog walk and you can walk as far or not as you please. The hotel is a short drive from Seaford which is a stoney beach, Free car parking on the road on the seafront, we sat together and watched the sunset over the sea. Alfriston is a small village and offers a few restaurants and pubs. We had a meal in the hotel to celebrate a birthday, mine, and we had a lovely evening meal in the lounge as we were allowed to have the dog with us. The service was extremely friendly and the food was very good value. I recommend the sausage and mash if your there on a crisp winters day. Breakfasts were plentiful and relaxing, no rush to complete or vacate, we stayed in for a while drinking tea and enjoying our family time. To sum it up; friendly, comfortable, great area, we will return, suggest you visit. "
"Fourth visit to this lovely hotel, sadly only for one night this time. We took the half board option with Booking .com which worked out as really good value as the food here is excellent and even under covid restrictions, the quality and brilliant service is just the same. Nice touch to be greeted at reception as a returner, we always feel so welcome here. Good to see the owners still investing in the hotel, lots of new furniture in the public rooms and the bathroom in room 19 was new and really nice. We also had an afternoon tea which was delightful. Comfortable large bed, the room was very clean and quiet. The furniture is old fashioned, but really good quality. I only have one tiny gripe, the thin pillows, spares had obviously been removed. See you next year x "
"What makes this beautiful country hotel even better is the amazing food and kind, attentive staff. We shared the wonderful 18oz ribeye which was cooked to utter perfection, and we throughrully enjoyed the shiraz. The manager and small team of staff worked tiressly ensuring everything was OK. We also loved the pianist who played during dinner and missed him when we retired to the bar. A truely wonderful weekend was had celebrating my birthday. We will most definitely be back. Thank you"

"Stayed at the wingrove last night and it was lovely from start to finish. Sharon at reception was lovely to talk to and very helpful. We stayed in room 14 which is spacious and the housekeeping team have done amazing job with the room! It was cosy and very clean, we couldn’t ask for more!! Dinner and breakfast was amazing the food was perfectly cooked, good portion size and it came out in right time. The chefs really do know what they are doing when it comes to food. Service was brilliant and efficient and we will 100% be returning back. What a lovely get away myself and my girlfriend had, just what we both needed. Beautiful views of the downs and endless walks to go on."
"From stepping in to the front door and throughout our stay the staff, service was second to none, very friendly and welcoming. Room was brilliant and very comfortable. No 11 overlooks church, very quiet and the bed was incredibly comfortable could have stayed there all day. NY meal was excellent, plenty of it and of a high standard. Breakfast/brunch couldn’t have been bettered and we wished we could have stayed longer. Would like to come back as love Alfriston as a base to explore Sussex and would definitely stay here again."
"We found this place easily as Alfriston is a small village and they had helpfully warned us of road works limiting access. Warm welcome. Not an easy place to get luggage either from car park to reception or up narrow winding stairs room was spacious as was bathrooms albeit old fashioned shower. We were told room would soon warm up but sadly it didn’t. Charming young lady offered us another room at far end of building. By then we had no time to repack & relocate. As we attending a function locally the reason for our stay. We spent a sleepless night in very cold room inadequate pillows and rather hard bed(needed a toper) Breakfast was ok. No one was able to offer récompense so to we were charged full tariff. I feel young girls who don’t know how to sort out central heating should not be left in charge without back up Check if they say the heating will be on soon don’t unpack until it is!"

"Booked a few weeks before for a couples weekend. Setting lovely and room very nice and spacious, though a bit dated and gloomy and could definitely do with redecorating. It’s a very mixed bag here, the main issue being really inconsistent levels of service which ranges from lovely people to unorganised, chaotic and disgracefully rude staff. We hadn’t had chance to book our spa treatments but given there’s such a big offering and we had paid a fair whack for two nights in an executive room we thought we might still get chance to book on to something. Upon arrival we were told if we wanted to do this to speak to the spa staff on the phone or in person so we went down and were greeted by cold stares from a line of four spa staff, who didn’t respond to our friendly hello. When we asked if they had availability we were abruptly told by the lady on the desk “no we’re fully booked and are for the next few weeks”. We asked if there was nothing at all Saturday or Sunday on any treatment and she (sarcastically) said “no, normally when you book these sort of places you know you book your treatments way in advance” at which point my gf and I looked at each other bewildered by her rudeness. We fully appreciate the times we are in and the fact that it’s not the staff’s fault we hadn’t pre booked the treatments, though it should be made clearer upon booking the room online or on the phone that this is absolutely essential if you want any chance of a treatment. Naturally we were disappointed as this was a part of the weekend we were very much looking forward to and it was meant to be a “spa” break after all. Though having seen previous reviews and the also abrupt rejection/hanging up I received from the golf shop over the phone when I rang up to enquire about any tee times for hotel guests, I was semi-unsurprised (again something booking earlier avoids but some good manners cost nothing). What would it have cost the spa desk to see our disappointment and be nice and just offer to call us asap after any cancellations or something (which they eventually did after we got rather annoyed at how rude they were being, we had literally just arrived and that was one of our first impressions of the place). To add, the other spa staff at the desk all decided to start putting their two pence in, including “Jack” who proceeded to say “oh you wouldn’t go to football without doing....” at which point I asked them to stop patronising us. I asked if I could speak to the manager to which he responded saying he’d try to find his card, but then said oh actually I can’t find it. Otherwise, some lovely staff across the hotel and nice food off the pavilion evening menu, though the breakfast and other food was mixed including some very suspect scrambled eggs and bacon. I appreciate there is an influx of demand and it is not easy for the hotel and the staff at the moment but again good manners cost nothing especially when the room price is pretty dear, you expect at least a reasonable l"
"Stayed for 3 nights and was hugely disappointed. When we arrived, we were struck by what a classy looking hotel it is, but that proved to be its most impressive feature. Our room was a nice size and was perfectly clean, but the absence of a fridge was a surprise (not sure if this was a COVID precaution, but there didn’t appear to be an obvious place for it to reside) and the bed was so soft, both my wife and I have ended up with bad backs. I absolutely understand the need to limit numbers in the gym and swimming pool because of COVID, but there were frequent occasions that we phoned (and when they could be bothered to answer), only to be told to there were no free slots for either, only to then subsequently be granted access when we visited the reception and pointed out there was hardly anyone using either facility. This sort of laziness is infuriating, a situation made worse when we were also told there was not a single free massage slot available until November, which, if true, is something that would have been useful to be have been told at the point of booking. The biggest criticism however lies with the pitiful excuse for a breakfast. When being shown to our table, we were greeted with a brown paper bag, containing a croissant wrapped in cling film, a Luke warm yoghurt and a banana. Thereafter, we were able to order a cooked breakfast, which alongside the cheap orange juice concentrate, consisted of the cheapest and tasteless ingredients you are likely to find. No danger of finding local produce here, the singular sausage was more of the dirt cheap economy variety, the bacon had more fat than meat, the tomatoes had been waved over the grill and the baked beans were the smallest portion I have even seen. Even the bread was of the cheapest sliced economy variety. When staying at a hotel in the summer, that hotel had understandably stopped the self service breakfast buffet normally on offer, replacing this with the same buffet choices, but where this was served to you by waitresses behind a Perspex screen, with they and us all wearing masks. This meant we were still able to enjoy all the usual offerings of cereal, fruit, cakes, et al. Not difficult to arrange, but clearly no one at the East Sussex National has that kind of wit, as they provided nothing of such basic offerings that one would expect in a hotel of this supposed calibre. I absolutely understand that hotels and others in the hospitality industry have suffered enormously during the pandemic, but such disorganisation and a propensity to do everything on the cheap, wringing out as much as they can from customers for the smallest outlay, is not the way to engender return visits. Even the request to keep our room for a further hour was met with an agreement to do so.......for an additional £10.00. We won’t be returning."
"Firstly I’m really disappointed at having to write this review, as the East Sussex has always been our favourite go to hotel for a special treat, but this time was so different - my husband booked us the Valentine’s Day special which included a spa treatment, 3 course meal etc. Well when I rung up to book the spa, I was told there was no appointments for anything the whole weekend! When we complained about this at reception on booking in - we where told we could have a voucher (but as we don’t live that close, travelling there just for that wasn’t viable). Our room was ok - but they are starting to look tired with flaking paint and the balcony furniture was really not nice! Our afternoon tea was lovely - when we finally got it, it seemed to take forever to arrive! The evening meal was our main problem, we wasn’t given any choice on timings, told our table was at 7.30...there were no starters we liked and mains where so basic and not enough choice - so we decided to pay extra for a sharing steak - it was delivered to our table by two boys (yes I meant to put boys) who didn’t even talk just put the steak on the table and left, to say this was a sharing steak would be a big stretch, to me that would be for one person not two, we questioned this only to be told it’s weighed correctly. This cost us £22 extra!!! Even though we only had two courses, not three that we had paid for. Desert was the only good part. In my option it would seem that staff levels have been cut back to the detriment of the level of standards we have come to expect from this hotel. On checking out the member of staff was not interested in our concerns at all and told us to email the manager - this is something I’ve done twice now and to date I’ve not received a response! We’re really upset as I just don’t think based on this experience we will be back! "

"Just had a 2 night stay @ One Warwick Park. 10/10 & everything about the hotel was just amazing. From the moment we arrived to the day we left, the staff were just so amazing & friendly & couldn't do enough for you. We had a drink at the bar 2 night running & the atmosphere of the bar area is just chilled & very relaxing. The decor is modern & just fantastic. The barman was amazing as well. We ate in the small hotel restaurant on Tuesday night & the the 2 staff couldn't do enough for us. The food was lovely & tasty as well as was the red wine. The deluxe room was immaculate & clean. Very good sized room & big bathroom with bath & rain shower in the bath. The room is very modern & just tastefully done. We had breakfast for our 2 day stay. We had our breakfast cooked to order & how we wanted it. There is also a continental choice to choose from. The breakfast was tasty & kept us full most of the day. Once again the chap who took our breakfast order was friendly & couldn't do enough for us & also remembered who we wanted our breakfast the following day. Once again when we checked out the staff were amazing. The hotel is very modern inside, but has the amazing old Royal Tunbridge Wells charm outside. We found everything about our stay friendly & comforting & were very sad to leave Thursday morning."
"Stayed here in the Deluxe room 105. Perfect room, very spacious and huge comfy bed. The bathroom is huge and the rooms looks out onto Warwick park. This hotel is very well maintained and exceptionally clean. The staff are always smiling and friendly. The newly decorated bar is a great addition and the cocktails are great. I had a bramble and a Tom Collins, wife had a strawberry Bon Bon, all perfect. Breakfast on the terrace was great, full English with good quality sausages and perfectly cooked poached eggs. This is now the only hotel we will stay in when in Tunbridge Wells. To sum it up: perfect ambience, clean, modern, great restaurant..... what’s not to like about this place. Well done Warwick park. Hopefully be back soon!"
"My boyfriend entered into the prize draw on the instagram page and we were lucky enough to win! We had a warm welcome at reception and had Prosecco waiting for us in the room. The room was very clean, comfortable and very pleasant. Even had a complimentary breakfast. Thanks to Ruth at reception for being so friendly. Would high recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Tunbridge Wells. Thanks again One Warwick Park, we will definitely be returning "

"Once again Trip Advisor reviews came up trumps for me on this one. Called up to check that Gluten Free food is an option before booking and then just booked on the phone with David who was super helpful. Upon arrival David checked me in, showed me to my room No 1 & helped carry my bags. Proceeded to show me where everything was and explained dinner & breakfast times etc. The room was lovely in it’s presentation and decor but the shower was well what can I say out of this world! I have never seen or used an electrically controlled shower for both switching on and raising/lowering the temperature until now - such a cool feature and the power of the shower was amazeballs!!! There was even an ironing board and iron on the top stairwell on the main landing there for anybody to use if they so needed to. So freshly clean I headed down for din dins they had a good selection of GF foods on their own separate menu. I opted for the slow cooked lamb with smoked creamy mash & buttered curly kale and it was divine... The lamb literally fell off the bone and was so tasty! For pudding I opted the creme brûlée with blueberry compote and again was very nice. Happy and content I trundled off to bed and watched a little tv on the large tv displayed on the wall and had a few cups of tea with their lovely Earl Grey teabags that they use there. I had a truly wonderful nights sleep here in this super comfortable bed & woke feeling super refreshed & ready to attack the days work ahead. Off I trundled down for breakfast and to set me up for the day I had my usual bacon, mushrooms & baked beans along with my own Gluten Free bread that I take with me when travelling and toasty bags to use in the toaster so as not to get any cross contamination from gluten, the breakfast table was well set out and you can help yourself to normal tea (as I call it) a selection of other teas, coffee, toast, cereals, fruit, juice and they had the NICEST cloudy honey there which was to die for as I had some on one of my slices of toast and it was that nice I simply had to have another 2 slices of toast which left me super stuffed ready for my day of customer visits. I unfortunately did not get the name of the nice young lady who was looking after everybody so well in the morning but she was fab too as well as David. Definitely great value for money staying here and the food was out of this world not to mention beautifully presented. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area - STAY HERE! You simply will not be disappointed! I hope you enjoyed my review and pics "
"It was clear very soon after entering the premises that a lot of money has been spent on the place as everything (bar and accommodation) is pristine. It has been and still is an inn with accommodation and the main entry is into the bar. in the middle there is an enclosed stair area with two doors accessible by a room card. All the accommodation is upstairs. Our room was an adequate size (but not large), well furnished and comfortable. it was not air-conditioned (I did not expect that) but there was a fan which helped a lot. The bar was a pleasant area in which to sit and the local beer was very palatable. Wi-fi is available throughout the inn. There was plenty of car parking at the side of the building. We only ate a light meal on one night but what I can attest to is that the fish goujons were superb. The breakfast was quite good (English or Continental) and at the time of our two night visit it was available for only £2 on the room rate - an excellent investment .All three of the staff whom I met were friendly, helpful and very pleasant. There is a nearby shop in the village - I do not know what it sells but they do morning papers. There are quite a lot of visitable places closish, not least, of course, the wonderful Bluebell Railway. Overall we had an excellent stay and I would recommend the inn. Good luck to the proprietor for all he or she has done!"
"We stayed for 1 night on a DB&B basis. The welcome was excellent and the room was all that we expected and more; spotlessly clean, great bed and a brilliant shower. Complimentary teas and coffees in the room were very good. The whole place felt very covid safe. Evey table had sanitiser on and masks were worn at all times by staff and by guests unless in their rooms or seated at a table in the bar or restaurant. Staff regularly sanitised their hands and table cleaning was very thorough. The restaurant food was great. We opted for the tapas selection (as it offered a variety of dishes that we'd not had before) and we weren't disappointed. The desserts were also excellent. We also used the bar which was very good too. Staff were very friendly and served at the table. Breakfast was very good too. All the staff that we met were excellent. We would highly recommend the Buxted Inn Hotel. If you want a nice weekend away that feels likes a treat then go ahead and book up. It's great to support small local businesses and you definitely won't be disappointed."

"We have been visiting the Spa hotel for the last 17 years and have always had a wonderful time, and our most recent stay was no exception. This was our first visit to a hotel since lockdown and we were very pleased to see that Covid 19 prevention procedures were fully in place and we both felt safe. We had a very nice room of the cosy deluxe class – clean, comfortable and a good size with plenty of storage space and enough room for a sitting area with two armchairs and coffee table. Although the room faced the road at the front it was not noisy as the hotel is set well back from the road. The bed was comfortable and we both slept well. The hotel is over 200 years old and part of its charm is that not all rooms are identical which, in my opinion, adds to the interest value in that each stay can be a little bit different. However, the official pictures shown in the hotel’s website give a very good indication as to what the various rooms look like within each category; indeed, we have usually been able to spot our latest room in the gallery photos. The staff continue to be a real credit to this hotel; it is so nice to be treated as ‘old friends’ when we return, the personal touch is most appreciated. Service from all staff was excellent irrespective of whether they knew us or not. Currently Zagatto’s bar & restaurant is closed and meals can be taken in the Orangerie instead – a sensible move in my opinion since this room is much larger and enables all tables to be very well spaced. The Orangerie is a very pleasant room with delightful views over the grounds. We had dinner and breakfast here, the food was delicious and we both enjoyed our meals. On hearing that we were celebrating our anniversary we were treated to a complementary glass of champagne each, plus a little extra desert with Happy Anniversary piped onto the plate – a very nice touch and much appreciated, thank you. Whilst at the hotel we used the swimming pool, although it is not large it is certainly big enough to exercise in. Currently one needs to book a time slot to use the pool in order to limit numbers to keep it Covid safe. It is possible to book a time slot prior to arrival. You will need a £1 coin (returnable) to operate the lockers. Towels can still be picked up at the Leisure Club reception area. There is also a gym, but we didn’t use this so cannot comment upon it, but think it likely that you will need to pre-book a time slot to use this. If the weather is good one can also enjoy the hotel’s lovely grounds. It is pleasing to see that the owners of the Spa are still investing in the building and grounds. We note that since our last visit a number of new, easy access parking places have been created and the Chandelier restaurant is currently undergoing a major renovation. It’s a good time to do such works whilst the current pandemic is limiting trade. Overall, we had a lovely stay and hope to return in the not too distant future."
"To celebrate the new year, I booked this wonderful hotel, which I'd stayed before, for my 2 children. I wasn't feeling well already when I came to help with the checking in and thought I'd stay in their room to rest for a bit. However I got worse very quickly and my children had to take me to the hospital and asked the reception lady on duty that evening to help order a taxi. She was very kind to come up to the room to see how I was and later got me a wheelchair. I ended up staying at the hospital for a few days. When I was discharged the hotel was very kind and had a spare bed for me in my children's room so they could take care of me. I'm very grateful to the thoughtful reception lady who helped me on the late evening of 2nd January, and the kind personnel who allowed a spare bed for me to stay in my children's room on 7th January. Thank you very very much. The hotel is very elegantly decorated, the housekeeping team does an excellent job of keeping the hotel rooms and other areas sparkling clean, the reception and lobby lounge personnels are alway warm and friendly, and we love the beautiful garden too. Hope we'll get the chance to dine in the hotel restaurant in our next stay. I highly recommend this hotel."
"Parking is outside and easy. The hotel is lovely stayed for work. Room was an exec room really big and big bathroom. The restaurant for dinner and a different one for breakfast were both excellent with excellent service and good hot food and massive choice. I just had boiled eggs they were lovely. In the room they provided a teapot and cup with saucer all bone china which was a lovely addition. The bed linen and curtains were top quality and an excellent nights sleep. My only reason for dropping to 4 stars was at lunch on the day I left. We ordered tea & I asked count I please order a pot of hot water I explained I’m on a diet and wanted to add the hot water to my instant pot meal. I explained I was happy to pay for this. To which the lady ( long dark hair with an accent I’m unsure of ) stated I couldn’t eat anything that I hadn’t bought off them. I didn’t feel this was good customer service , I felt the response a little harsh in tone. Also I felt she could have asked if I had would put it in one of their bowls to disguise it and add a small charge as I stated I was on a strict diet. I will return for an overnight as it was a lovely hotel I would like to see a little flexibility / understanding from staff that way I would give it 5 star. "

"Firstly I’d like to say i arrived late and the girl was so welcoming, openend the side door for my ease, helped with my bags and took me to the car park. So friendly I did not have an evening meal here but i did get breakfast include - it was limited but certainly enough for breakfast. The room was quite high up and no lift, some may struggle to get up all the floors. The room was very quaint - nicely decorated with a few old style pieces but the room tilted, my only gripe my make up kept rolling off the cabinet. The downstairs decor in restaurant was so pretty and unusual with cherry blossom hanging from the centre light and a flower wall- lovely pretty touches. I would imagine in the summer this would be a hugely popular place to eat and stay"
"Two couples stayed here for a couple of nights - the rooms (11 & 20 I think) were very good (overlooking the Pantiles area - i.e. front of hotel). The staff are brilliant - not just the service but local knowledge too. Breakfast was glorious as was lunch we had one day. Only gripes - overhead shower didn't really get hot. Outstanding feature - the reception area is PINK with roses, blossom and neon but really comfortable. Not a gripe but just to make people aware - the car park is a couple of minutes walk away and you need to cross a relatively busy road."
"I have stayed a couple times now and the staff are very friendly. The food was cooked perfectly. The rooms are spacious and clean. No complaints, I will be returning again this is my go to hotel in TW "

"2nd visit here, 1 night each time but staying again this weekend for two nights for work reasons. The beds are very comfy, the rooms and bathrooms are spotless and the food is great. The staff are friendly and plenty of out door seating for us smokers. It is an old Inn and the rooms are quaint and a bit creaky, the bar has 5 different types of flooring in it and it is only a small place, so for those looking for a working or drinking bed for the night, this place is great, but if you expect 5* or on a romantic getaway, maybe not the right place. See you all this weekend ..Ps if you want entertaining bar service, ask if Betty Boop is serving tonight ;) Kiwi Steve. "
"Can’t recommend this place enough! Amazing carvery roast dinner 😍 Worth a drive out to this traditional pub in Wadhurst! Excuse the photo. I started tucking in before remembering to take a photo 🤦🏼‍♀️ Lovely friendly atmosphere. Very welcoming. If visiting Bewel Water or Bedgebury Forest it’s a must visit for food! Also got cute B&B rooms available. "
"the staff were 100% really nice and helpful people , the room was good for the price and if you drink guinness that was top class, My only problem was and it did spoil my stay so i shall be honest was i woke up in the night needing a drink of water after a few beers to find there was no cold water to drink both taps in the bathroom the hot and the cold only ran hot water , so i went all night without a drink and felt very dehydrated the next day i and could not wait to buy a cold bottle of water ... oh one more think could do with a bigger tv as the one in the room was very small"
