Top 10 Kalahari Waterpark Hotels

When my Family travel to the Poconos we always stay at this Fairfield Inn & Suites location. Our last stay, two weekends ago, was my Birthday and part of the celebration included cards and a present for me. When we arrived home, I realized that I left my cards and present. I immediately contacted the hotel and was informed that the staff had retrieved my cards and gift and brought them to the Front Desk. I requested to have them mailed to me. Ms. Kendy Castillo, the General Manager, called me to confirm the mailing information. To my surprise, I received my cards and gift within five (5) days. I would like to commend Ms. Castillo and staff for their continued exemplary service!

The room was great. Had a nice view of the lake. The only complaint with the room was no mini fridge, but we were prepared for that with a small cooler. The ****** was very smokey even the non-smoking section. It would be better if they followed PA guidelines and had no smoking. There were no valets to handle luggage when we checked in which was a problem. We are elderly and hubby uses a walker and cannot handle luggage as he once did. Fortunately a young couple was checking in as well and helped me with the luggage. Restaurants were great but a bit pricey.

We had the best time! We honestly did not want to leave. When I was booking the room, I decided to call to get a better understanding on things. I talked to a Vanessa. She took such good care of me! When we got there our CXO Jess was the best! She made our stay great! Honestly, I can't say enough great things! I decorated our room in sunflowers and leaves like our wedding. So please enjoy our pictures! We look forward to returning!!

This was our first trip- overall we had a lot of fun! Our 6 and 2.5 year old loved the water rides and the waterpark in general. We spent the majority of our time there. We had a Kid Cabin suite which we all liked a lot. There was plenty of space to relax after a day at the waterpark. We didn't do many meals there, which I think was a positive! We ordered breakfast and it was expensive but the kids liked it. There were some cons- the room above us was LOUD, so much so it was hard to sleep and I wanted to go home a day early. There were a LOT of cigarette butts on the ground outside the balconies. A LOT. Sadly that has more to do with rude people than the resort. Staff were all really nice and I was relieved that all the guests were wearing masks in general areas. There was plenty of space at the park (we went Mon-Thurs) so we never felt uncomfortable. Overall, it was a fun winter break that we all needed!

I have stayed at this hotel for the third time. The environment is beautiful and the view is wide. It is a bit like a hotel halfway up the mountain. The implementation is relatively complete. The first time you stay in the snowy winter, you can burn the wood in the fireplace. This has to be charged separately. Now the tour is open and there are more tourists. The hotel has been cancelled. There is a ski resort near this hotel 🎿. There are outlets nearby. If you want to travel to Pennsylvania, you are a good choice.

My wife and I had visited the Chateau in 2000 and 2001, but had not been to the Poconos in 20 years. We would hike, eat at Barley Creek. And then have a drink at the Chateau's busy hotel bar. We were looking forward to a return to the Poconos, but most of our plans got rained out. We initially were led by our GPS to the huge new Camelback Lodge resort. Had the resort we'd stayed at changed that much? No. We were at the wrong place and the Chateau had not changed AT ALL in 20 years and it was nearly empty. On one hand, this was fine. We didn't want the bustle of a massive indoor Waterpark resort, but the property is in need of a refresh. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was nice, but it didn't seem like anything at all had been updated or modernized in 20 years. We did not use the indoor pool or hot tub, and it was rainy so we didn't use any of the outdoor attractions near the resort. We did eat breakfast at the Mountainview Grill and it was really good. I think the Chateau has potential, and I'm sure the big new nearby resort hurt it, but I felt bad seeing a place that been a bustling and beautiful resort 20 years ago seeming so much like the world had passed it by.

Stayed at this Hampton for a wedding in the area, and we ran into many issues that make the property very hard to recommend, but let's cover the positives first. The hotel itself is in pretty good shape, with decently-sized rooms and fresh decor. No surprises here - in a sense, if you've seen one Hampton, you've seen them all, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, despite the hotel being fully booked and very busy all weekend long. Onto the negatives. Our room was very dirty on arrival, with hair left on the carpets and some troubling brown streaks in the bathroom. For whatever reason, the air conditioning blew incredibly moist and wet air into the room, and even after turning the unit off, my girlfriend was left with hives and skin irritation for days afterward. A few staffers got into an expletive-filled screaming match as breakfast was closing down one day, which isn't a good look for a property that targets families. I brought all of this to management's attention as we left, and I sincerely hope everything was addressed. If this hotel wasn't part of the pre-booked wedding block, we'd have checked out early and stayed somewhere else. This was a pretty unpleasant experience for everyone in our room, but reviews for this property seem positive overall, so your mileage may vary; if you stay here, maybe think twice before running the air conditioning.
