"The Villa Saint Ange is truly a wonderful hotel, but there are still a lot of small issues that have to be fixed. We had a Junior Suite and a normal double room. Our normal double room was especially made for people with disabilities like deafness, blindness and people in wheelchairs. This room has two bathrooms, one normal one with two sinks, a toilet, a big bathtub and a walk-in shower. The other bathroom is bigger, so a wheelchair can easily fit inside. Also, the shower is wider and the toilet has a handle bar to easily get on and off. The sink is lowered, so people in a wheelchair can still reach the sink, but there is no mirror which should be fixed. The room is nicely furnished and has an old, but fine touch to it. The bed is absolutely amazing! The mattress is very comfortable and guarantees a good night sleep, also, the pillows are very plush and all the linens have a nice smell. The same goes for the towels. The junior sweet is the same as above, just the room is a bit bigger, but there is no bathtub in the bathroom. The hotel is nice, but there still has to be many things fixed to make it a "true" 5 star hotel: - There should be a coffee and tea maker in every room which you would expect a 5 star hotel to have. Because there wasn't any, we ordered coffee to our rooms with some croissants. We ordered four times coffee with milk, but only once everything arrived at the same time. Once we had to call THREE times to get the missing hot milk, sugar and croissants which they didn't deliver directly. For an astonishing price of 56€ this should DEFINITELY not happen. - Water should be replenished every single day. On arrival, there was a complimentary bottle in our room, but it wasn't replaced even once during our stay. This is really not a big request and true 5 star hotel's do offer this. - Amenities such as Q-tips and cotton pads should be replaced without asking every day if needed. This wasn't really the case, so we always had to ask the cleaning staff for some extra. - In both rooms there was no hotel directory. I can understand that maybe this is not possible due to the current situation, but as an example there could be in every room a QR code which you can scan to see things like the TV channels, the room service menu and many more. This would really make the quality of service better. One last thing to say is that as we tried to consult somebody with our bad room service breakfast experience, one of the managers approached us with an very annoyed and aggressive attitude, as if we did something wrong. This person raised her tone against us and didn't want to solve our problem which made us feel very uncomfortable. This is definitely not the way to treat your guests at any hotel and is unacceptable. All in all I can say that this is still probably the best and nicest place to stay in Aix en Provence, even though it has several issues which need to be resolved. These requests are really nothing special and only then I would cons"
"We had one night in Villa Saint-Ange as part of a Voyage Prive offer. The hotel is visually stunning, despite only being built in July 2019 parts of it look a lot older. The grounds are superb and you could easily forget how close you are to Aix en Provence which is no more than 15 minutes on foot. We stayed in Room 6 which was a Classic Room on the ground floor. Stunning, loads of period features and double doors which open out onto a nice terrace. Flat screen TV built into the mirror (looked amazing), Wi-Fi, safe, fridge but no tea/coffee facilities. Pool is absolutely huge and heated. There is also a small gym as well and loads of areas to relax inside and out. The hotel feels really sumptuous and luxurious. Staff were lovely as well. We did not have dinner at the restaurant but did have breakfast. This area incorporates the bar as well and is visually very striking. Lots of glass, high ceilings, beautiful decorations and lighting. Really opulent. Unfortunately the weather was awful when we were there but I can imagine a sunny day with all the doors and windows open would be amazing. Breakfast is table service and there is a lot of choice from hot and cold selections. My only slight criticism was service was a little slow but in fairness the food was superb quality and perfectly produced so worth the wait! The welcome drink was a really refreshing iced tea accompanied by cake, cream and fruit. Delicious but quite filling so don't have it just before dinner! We actually deferred it until we were leaving which the hotel was only too happy to accommodate. Parking was a car valet service and it was stored in a secure car park under the hotel. We did not pay for this so presume it was included as part of our deal. When we were ready to leave they loaded our cases, drove the car up to the entrance and handed back the keys. Very convenient!"
"You could call this hotel a hidden gem! More or less hidden on the side of a small street, but only at 5 minutes walking distance from city center, hotel Saint-Ange is a most beautiful new hotel offering well-done and large rooms as well as a superbe garden area. The outside pool by itself is worth a visit, just outstanding . A very nice and good restaurant is integrated in the hotel in a separate building close to the pool. Staff is just perfect, friendliness is the device. Just to name Léa at the reception, being so well attentive to all guest wishes. We will definitely return to this remarkable hotel. NB: the hotel has its own modern car parking under the hotel."

"Pretty new on the Provence hotels scene, Le Chateau de la Gaude which is the one we all remember from the Pagnol's movie "Le Chateau de ma mere" was looking like a ruin until a local philanthropist invests millions into a complete lifting and renovation. After years of transformation, this amazing and ultra charming castle opened its doors last year with the objective to become one of the finest places in Europe and after an incredible mid week break there, I'm pretty sure that the objective will be soon reached. Imagine the Provence countryside all around... an incredible landscape punctuated cypresses, lavender fields, the vineyards of the estate (the Rose wine from the estate is absolutely delicious...), the song of the crickets and the breathtaking view on the Ste Victoire's mountain, the beloved mountain of Paul Cezanne... hard to find such a fantastic place like this one at only 10 minutes by car from exciting Aix en Provence. When we arrived, we quickly noticed that the place is still not yet fully completed and we were quite worried but we haven't been disturbed by the construction. Justly, we surprisingly took part of the birth of this stunning property exploring what's gonna be ready next and can easily imagine how incredible will be this estate after a few more months. Soon the pool will be ready in a more than glorious environment surrounded by olive trees, manicured grass and stunning pieces of art. Le Chateau de la Gaude like the neighbor uber luxury Villa La Coste is oriented into art and it's a passionating to walk across the huge garden to explore all these contemporary pieces, most representing "skulls" but also an oversized shark. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by a professional young team full of smiles. They immediately served us a drink and make check in procedures quick and easy. The manager, Vinciane, personally escorted us to our magnificient suite in the main castle (the rooms and suites are equally located in the castle itself or in a Provence style dependance full of charms). Our prestige suite on the second floor was stunning, greatly decorated with a contemporary style and a few pieces of art giving all the grandeur to this lovely retreat. View over the gardens and iconic labyrinth was exceptional and bathroom made with white marble just immaculate. A fresh bottle of Rose and a few calissons waited for us and we fully enjoyed this nice touch. Comfort was equally perfect with hard to leave beds and excellent soundproofing. For food lovers, choice will be hard between La Source, the gastro brasserie chic and trendy with a cool, friendly and efficient service and of course a delicious food or the gastronomic restaurant Le Art located on the ground floor of the castle and opening onto a fabulous terrace for summer dinners and offering a Michelin star Michelin experience obviously largely acclaimed but we haven't had the chance to give a try. We were pretty satisfied with our dinner at La Source and escaped to"
"My wife and I booked this chateau for one night while we were living in Provence. For tour initial email to our last "au revoir", we were both blown away by this experience. We showed up and were upgraded to a deluxe room from a classic room. The room was huge and beautiful with an enormous soaking tub in one room, a rain forest shower in the other that could fit 5 people, and an incredibly comfortable bed. A bottle wine from the chateau, some fresh fruit and a snack awaited us upon arrival. We walked around the well-maintained grounds and were able to go through the vineyards and the gardens. We had cocktails at the outdoor bar and Max is a maser mixologist. He also speaks excellent English which was a plus for us. He made some great drinks and has one of the best old-fashioned I have had outside of the US. Max is a fantastic bartender and a must when you visit for dinner or if you are staying the chateau. Dinner at La Arte is a must. It is pricey, lunch options seemed more reasonable, but you will not be disappointed. The outdoor patio is tastefully decorated with simple lighting and no table is too close to another. You feel as though you are eating at your own private Chateau. They offer some small tastings to start and throughout the evening which added to the gastronomic experience. The wait staff was friendly, not pushy with food or wine choices (they have an extensive cellar with prices ranging from 50 euros to 12,500 euros) and we spent all night sitting at our table. My duck foie gras was the best foie gas I have ever had and the pigeon was cooked 4 different ways. My got a shrimp dish to start and lobster for her entree. She was pleased with both. Desserts were excellent as well and we were full when retired to our room. Breakfast is part of your stay and it is a full petit dejeuner. Breads, fruits, cheeses, eggs if you desire, coffee, teas and juices, it is a full incredible breakfast. A wonderful way to start our day. The wine tasting room is beautiful and well worth a visit to sample wines from the region. The one down side was the chateau is newly opened in July and they are still doing much construction to get ready for 2020. There will be a spa and pool, a new bistro and a bakery that they hope will be ready by the spring or summer. While there was a lot of work going on it did not interfere with our visit and only got us more excited to return in the future and see the chateau's vision completed. There was also only one other guest room being used so I curious what it will be like when other people are there. This was an anniversary my wife and I will never forget and so much was due to the wonderful staff and beauty of this elegant chateau. I hope other people will get to experience this amazing place and share a similar experience to ours. Merci"

"We discovered this hotel in beautiful nature around 15 km from Aix-en-Province. I highly recommend it. It was opened around a month ago and we loved it. - the rooms are great, modern, well planed and with beautiful color tones. If you can, try to get one with a balcony. All rooms have Mountain View on Sainte Victoire. Beautiful ! the view is amazing. - the restaurant is top. It has a French - Brazilian influence , with good diverse choices and excellent service. Option to sit inside or outside. Outside you have the best view of the fabulous Picasso Castle, apparently the place where he worked a lot and where he is buried together with his last wife. The chef is a young Brazilian chef from Mandarin Oriental background ; just great ! - I just love the enthusiastic, young, talented staff. You feel they are highly motivated and will make your stay so pleasant. - beautiful pool ! - Aix-en-Province is at 15 minutes by car and it is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in France. Great nature walking from the hotel. It is rare to “discover” a new hotel which is really outstanding and makes you feel home immediately and with such a young and talented staff. And I also loved the art pieces in the rooms and all over in the hotel! Everything is so tasteful in the detail. Such a great energy in this new hotel ! We will be back. "
"Fabulous hotel! Breathtaking view from lovely room balcony onto 1) Sainte-Victoire mountain, 2) Picasso’s mansion - Château de Vauvenargues, 3) gorgeous pool, and 4) superb terrace bar and restaurant. Staff caring and kind. Food and drinks delicious. Beautiful decoration, and thoughtful, clear, clear rooms and bathrooms. YES! Total luxury and relaxation! "

"This is a special find - a large apartment in a small hotel in a townhouse just 3 minutes walk to the main street Mirabeau and La Rotonde main square. The beautifully appointed apartment is a must if you can secure it Large living room, with original fresco ceiling, good shower, large bath, two toilets overlooking the beautiful little square, Marguerite and Anthony are, as all have stated, perfect hosts. Your car will be parked for you, and you will enjoy a lovely little breakfast in the main living room of the "hotel". Best and closest room to the action in Aiz!!!!"
"Stayed here for the nights to watch the French Grand Prix. This is one of those hotels you love to find. Anthony and Marguerita were perfect kind and gracious hosts. My room on the second floor had a great bed, a very well equipped bathroom up some stairs and up a few more stairs access to a wonderful private terrace. The breakfast was fantastic with abundant pasties, cereal, fruit and yoghurt. Added to the perfect location I will return with my wife next time!"
"Anthony et Margarita are extremely welcoming and offer a fantastic service. We were kindly upgraded to a 3 bedroom suite with a beautiful lounge and a view on the Dolphin square. The breakfast was delicious, our car was parked for us, great recommendation for where to eat in the evening and the hotel has a great located just a few minutes from the cours Mirabeau."

315 Montée D'Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France
"I spent almost two weeks here in July 2020 and loved it. The grounds are beautiful and a great place for walks. Dinner at the “restaurant gastronomique” was a very pleasant experience, as were cocktails with my guests in the garden. I also appreciated that breakfast was brought every morning to my suite. This is a very dog-friendly environment, so the two weeks that I stayed there I spent a lot of relaxing time with my dog, which was lovely! Unfortunately the place is outside the city of Aix and just off a rather busy part of a motorway with nothing else around, which meant two things. You definitely need a car or you have to take a taxi at least once a day in order to get into town for shopping and social activities. And second, there are very limited options for walks with your dog around the hotel. The nearby village of Célony with its shops provided some sort of remedy for both of those issues (you can do some shopping there and walk your dog to the village and back to the hotel). Staff service throughout was much appreciated. Whatever they may have lacked in terms of “formal training” in the hotel industry, they more than made up for in terms of friendliness, kindness and sincere eagerness to provide good service. The fact that there weren’t many other people around when I stayed there certainly helped matters: the swimming pool was almost never busy, the tennis court and gym were almost always available, And a lot of the time it felt a bit like I had the entire place to myself! I’m not sure whether my experience would have been different had there been lots of people around all the time... But the place is definitely worth a try for its superb grounds, good facilities and great restaurant, offering guests the opportunity to relax in peace and quiet!"
"The hotel is settled in a very nice park. The room are ancient however presentable the restaurant is truly five star with heavenly food and lovely freindly staff esp Mr. Quantin who is a wine expert. Food was cooked to more than perfection. Rooms were spacious but ancient pool was very cold and a very sweet dog greets you on the reception. The worst experience was the breakfast so poor and service was slow. The omlette was a disaster and the buffet was poorly attended by staff. Not worth the price and alien to this lovely place. Please see the first Pic. Will return but won't have breakfast there ever. "
"The hotel itself is a Provençale mention that is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The hotel is furnished with big wooden furniture that has it unique charm. The rooms are nice and big and the bed is comfy. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant which was good but I think that breakfast was a little disappointing. The hotel had a big swimming but somewhat the pool was not so welcoming since it felt a bit neglected. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we think that it can be a superb hotel with a little bit more attention."

320 Avenue Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, (GPS address: 256 Av Perouse), Aix-en-Provence, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France
"It is a 5-minute walk from the centre of Aix-en-Provence. It is not a big town. Maintaining a five-star group standard, the front desk is very professional and enthusiastic. The restaurant is very professional and very good. Breakfast is rich and dinner is authentic. The room is extra large and the bathroom is extra large. In short, it is a five-star standard. It is great to recommend a trip to the city centre on a small train to learn about the history of this ancient city."
"The location is general, a little distance from the old town, but the room is still quite big, the bed is also very big, we are driving, parking is also very convenient, in short, it is recommended! I will book it again next time."
"The hotel that has been in France for a few days, this hotel is new, clean, the bed is very comfortable, and the location is also central."
