Reviews From Real Travelers
The hotel is a little outside Weimar. Through a small Holperstein road comes closer to its destination. Parking are directly at the house incl. currently 1 cargo station. Our room - with small sauna - (we have once made something) was beautifully large. A living area with sofa (such as double bed) and a bedroom. A large bathroom including the small sauna, shower and “sitting bathtub”. Also there was a walkable box, in which the bags and bags also beauty to find place. Unfortunately the minibar was empty. Breakfast was fine. Corona-related there were 3 times: 7, 8 and 9 a.m. The house is a little rounded and has a chair, but also a stairway from the 2nd floor to breakfast and dinner. We haven't tested the wellness area because we had a sauna for us. The team of the house is really very careful and service-oriented. Be it the ladies from the room cleaning service or the gastronomy area.

I had booked for two people with you. Even at the first call on booking, a lady was so unfriendly on the device that you were almost willing to look around elsewhere. At a later call I wanted to know if you could eat there because we only arrived at about 20.30 clock. Lapidare info: we close the hot kitchen at 21.00 clock, then we are very consistent. On my question whether you can get a little or something cold, no more information. No one can find out how to look at what can be done, forget a recommendation for a nearby restaurant. The tone of the conference was extremely strange and hospitality. I felt just annoyed because I wanted to stay there. Remarks similar already covered by Tripadvisor. I was once with you many years ago and I felt very well lifted. Now I hope I will be taught a better one when I stay. Now I stayed in the hotel twice. My first impressions on the booking have unfortunately been confirmed. Partly unfriendly staff, wishes, like a small extra kit, have not been taken into account. Personal at breakfast is completely untrained and over-reached. The breakfast itself was excellent. The formerly beautiful dining room has now become a completely uncomfortable room with neon lighting. In short, there is nothing more to feel from the former romantic hotel, it must have moved to a quiet meeting hotel. The whole stay there was gracious and so I would choose a more central and better hotel when I stay next in Weimar. For a supposed luxury hotel is absolutely too little offered.

Facilities: The design of the hotel is outstanding and there is no doubt. Modern sense, endless opposite wall glass, bathroom floor heating, and ubiquitous tips labels. The only downside is that there is no minibar.
Hygienic: Very good, the overall feeling is very clean.
Environment: Although next to the train station, there are still fewer choices for dining and shopping. And consumption is expensive. Eating 30 to 40 euros.
Service: It is far from the intentions of the hotel design! The advantages of design give the waiter a superiority and generate a sense of service. For example, when checking in, customers have been in a long queue, two front desks are slowly leisurely, and the other person stops directly, picks up the phone porridge, and lets the customer wait.

The location is naturally invincible, the breakfast is also good, the children love it, a beautiful small area, but the price is a bit high

Staff were very pleasant but there was very little English spoken. As in many hotels we stayed in Germany, there was only one black tea bag in a double room meant for two people! Very strange. One thing to note for all guests is regards to the safe. I could not work out how to key-in my own personal code number to lock/unlock the safe, so I went to reception and they gave me a slip of paper with a four digit code on it. I said that I wanted to enter my own (secret) number and was told that this could not be done! I argued that it should be possible to key in my own code but they said that I could not. I was not happy but had to accept it. Later I remembered a safe in another hotel where you could change the code by pressing a reset button on the inside edge of the door toward the hinge. I tried this and it worked. When I Checked out I left them with a written instruction in German (using an online translator) on how to change the code.

A bit old hotel, but the problem is not very big, or a small suite, the key problem is that the bathroom has heating room is open but not, the most amazing is the bed, written is a big bed room, actually two single beds put together, the quilt is also according to the single bed is very small, It was not tightly covered at all, so I woke up in the middle of the night, forced to cover a bath towel, cover the quilt, and cover the small quilt of the next bed. In the end, I still had a cold and fever 😂😂 It was too difficult at such a special moment.

The only choice for a business trip, the nearest place to work. The conditions are average but clean. Surrounded by the countryside, don't think about taking a taxi. Breakfast is OK, but the same content is tired of eating for two weeks. It is recommended to stay on vacation, business travel or to choose a city is more convenient.

Reviews From Real Travelers
We stayed in this hotel on two separate nights bookending a trip to Frankfurt. This hotel is not - in our experience - typical of the Mercure brand. Far too often Mercure's are in good locations but somewhat rundown, tired and in need of attention. This is quite the opposite. It appears to have been wholly refurbished in the last five years, it is looked after. The hotel is conveniently situated near to both the old town and the main, new shopping area, both being no more than five minutes walk away. It is a ten to fifteen minute walk from the railway station or (for us) a €10 taxi ride. There is paid for car parking if required. This is a deceptively large hotel, the short frontage belies the fact that it has 141 rooms. The hotel stretches back from its frontage - we felt it was long and not very wide. It is spread over four floors and possibly an attic. We were on the fourth floor for our first visit and on the first floor for the second. Entry into the hotel from the street leads to a small reception area with ottoman seating. Screened from reception is a small bar and another soft seating area. The bar had elusive opening times - but seemed not to operate before 18:00 hours. Service was good. There is a restaurant that is not the breakfast room but that was not open during our stay with no sign of opening on the horizon. All public areas were clean, tidy and well maintained, albeit with a Alpine overtone! Access to the upper floors is via dedicated lifts or stairs depending upon the location of the room, with some rooms there is quite a walk to the lift. There is a small garden and paved area with seating. We saw no specific provision for disabled access but believe that the hotel is easy enough to negotiate. There is a separate breakfast room which works very well albeit it is not large. It is at the furthest end of the hotel from reception and bypasses some of the meeting rooms. Whilst these rooms were used during our stays we experienced no difficulties. We took breakfast early and the restaurant was never full or cramped. Breakfast is generous but prettty standard continental fare. Our first room (413) was a standard room and disappointing although it was clean and well cared for. Our second room however (136) was an upgrade and provided exceptional space and comfort for a reasonable price. Had we been able to satisfactorily understand the room descriptions and attributes on the website a room such as 136 would have been our preference. It had a large and comfortable double bed, a small seating area with table, a separate desk along with the usual accessories of a safe, TV, wifi etc. We didn't try the TV but everything else worked. There is no aircon but there is very effective radiator heating. We can imagine that opening the windows for some rooms would produce a great deal of street noise, but both our rooms were towards the rear of the hotel and quiet. There was no noise from the corridor or between roo

Visiting Erfurt for the day we booked a room at the Mercure for the night. Parking is in a garage on site, for 24 euro/ day. Our room was supposed to be air conditioned, but it wasn't. Our room was overlooking the street and our windows opened, so that helped, but there was a lot of street noise! The bed was pretty comfortable, but the pillows weren't that great! Nice shower with good water pressure and temperature! Good location!
