The hotel looks and feels amazing. Everything including the reception area, the bar, and the restaurant all give the impression that you are in a top class hotel. We stayed in a standard room which was very good and the beds were really comfy (quite firm but very comfortable). The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Sadly the food in the restaurant was awful and a massive let down. The menu is relatively small so we assumed it would all be cooked fresh. But our main courses were served less than 10 minutes after ordering and were as tasteless as a ready meal. The chargrilled chicken with garlic and rosemary was tasteless, the battered haddock was ok but the chips served with both meals were terrible. I've had better meals served in a pub on a 2 for 1 deal but this was a supposed to be a nice restaurant. The breakfast was a serve yourself buffet and was ok (apart from the stale pastries) but nothing special. This hotel deserves a better restaurant but the food was such a let down that we won't be returning which is a shame.

Friendly staff and really great breakfast. My room was clean and I didn't have any issues. The food in the pub was nice and the service was good. It has lots dark oak beams everywhere, so if you're after something very modern looking then this place is not for you. Was great for the cost of the room.

Great staff and room, the bed was so comfy 5*. Check was a breeze, the location was perfect. Near all the amenities, nice and relaxing stay, I'd highly recommend this hotel. I'd stay here again. Very pleased

My husband and I stayed just for the one night for our anniversary on Sunday 7th May. We were very impressed with everything about the hotel. The grounds. the lake, the hotel interior, the foold, and it was spotless, as was our room. Every member of staff we had dealing with were very pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel, it's in a beautiful setting, and very tastefully decorated.

The hotel itself isn't in the best physical condition, but the staff were genuinely superb. I was very impressed with the standard of service I received, and although the rooms could, at best, be described as tired, the staff are really what won me over.
