Mis-Sold We made a booking in January 2022 this included free parking and a hot breakfast consisting of bacon, sausage, scrambled egg and beans as we had always experienced on our many visits to this hotel since it opened. When we arrived in September 2022 we were told there was a £5 parking fee per night. The parking is managed by yourparkingspace and can be booked in advance for £3 per night yet the Holiday Inn Express charge £5 per night on arrival. We were told that the hotel had sold the car park to yourparkingspace who incidentally advertises that they manage car parks for hotels such as Holiday Inns and do not own them. This is not what we booked and paid for in January 2022 We were not advised of the parking fee in advance and neither was we informed that there was no longer a hot breakfast available which we only found out about on the morning of our breakfast and when asking staff we were told that it was a trial not to serve hot breakfast. The breakfast offered was a buffet style consisting of bread and jam, cereal cold croissants and mini muffins, orange juice, tea and coffee and fresh fruit but the oranges were rotten and pointed this out to staff who removed them and did bring out some more. You cannot do a trial on a guest that has already booked and paid months in advance for free parking and a hot breakfast and then decide you are going to charge for parking and no hot breakfast served without informing the guest beforehand allowing them to make the choice to cancel and make a booking with another hotel which we would have done given the choice and we will now not use Holiday Inn Express if this is how they treat paying guests. We will not recommend this hotel until they reinstate the hot breakfast and stop charging for parking we will look elsewhere. Hot breakfast is was/still advertised on the website trial or not! This hotel had every thing me and my husband wanted for our little mini moon away. We had a lovely weekend and very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel facilities was amazing specailly the spa and can't fault the food. Thank you.

Exactly what one expects from a Marriott property. A bit out of Portsmouth but totally suitable location nearby grocery store and coffee shop. Very nice staff at reception who despite being new was well trained and attentive. Would stay again if in town.

I paid extra for a premium room (don’t bother, by the way - the room is a normal room plus a towelling robe and coffee machine). I reported the coffee machine and my TV remote control to be broken first thing Thursday morning. They still had not been fixed 24 hours later, the morning I was due to check out. I reported again and, to the hotel’s credit was told I could have a discount (though I have not received it at time of writing). Then at 8:50am, as I was getting dressed and packed to leave, a maintenance man appeared and wanted to come in - obviously too late to benefit me, as I was leaving, and disrupting my last hour in the room. Holiday Inn, please do better.

Easy check in, great free parking outside hotel with blue badge. room ok. a double bed and a bed seatee. asked for a view of Spinnaker tower, only saw the top bit pointing out ..not worth the extra money! Hotel was very disabled friendly, no problems getting about. Staff friendly. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of everything you could want. A nice little bar area open till late. We even received a 10% discount in some of the local shops and restaurants when we showed our room card. So convenient for Gunwharf shopping and restaurants, bars etc. we would stay again.

My partner and I had been looking forward to our weekend away to a family wedding. Our bed was terrible to small and could feel the springs! All our other family members beds were fine, very disappointed. Our room was not a superior double, we spoke to reception but not that helpful, the bed should of been changed! Avoid room 229! There was room for a bigger bed, there was gaps either side and my partner is not particularly tall yet his feet hung over the end. When you book a hotel room of that price for 2 nights you expect a comfortable bed.

A fabulous restaraunt experience awaits you at The Keppel's Head in Portsmouth. The dining room is nice and bright and clean and the food is absolutely top notch. The staff are so pleasant and friendly and the service so very good that I'm guessing that the owners/managers are a good business to work for? The bars have a great feel and the Nut Bar is lovely and quirky. Highly recommended, excellent all round.

It is close to the train station and it takes five or six minutes to walk! Breakfast is a standard British buffet! Sausage, bread juice, fried eggs, roasted tomatoes, etc. The room is not bad, very clean!
