Reviews From Real Travelers
I was booked in here for one night whilst on business in the area and I must admit I was a little underwhelmed by the experience. The hotel is strangely laid out and somewhat soulless, with all the amenities at one end of the building. The bedrooms are spacious and although rather basic and tired, they are adequate for a one night stay. Unfortunately my bed was uncomfortable and in need of a new mattress and I was only able to use the hand-held shower attachment from the bath taps, as the wall mounted fixture didn't work. Talking to colleagues, this didn't seem to be the case in all rooms so maybe I was just unlucky - if I'd been staying longer, I would have asked to change rooms. Food and drink in the restaurant was okay although on the pricey side, but to be fair, the staff were friendly and efficient. I didn't bother with breakfast as it was overpriced at £17 a head and from colleagues' advice, not worth it. Overall, I thought my stay was average for the price paid and I came away feeling rather disappointed with the experience. Would I stay here again if returning to the area for business? Probably not I'm afraid.

We had a nights stay here as we were going to the horse racing. On arrival we had a welcoming, helpful receptionist. If you are not wishing to drive to the races, the hotel has an internal phone for a taxi. (it was a five minute taxi ride away, which only cost about £11) The restaurant next door also had welcoming staff on the bar. At breakfast time you are seated by staff and you help yourself to the continental breakfast and drinks etc… I have to say, I found the service wait a little too long however, this wasn’t too much of an issue. The full english breakfast, was served by order and very fresh& piping hot. (Compliments to the chef, apparently called Carole 👏) Just what was needed after a night out!

Lovely stay at this hotel, staff are all very friendly and helpful Rooms are getting old niw but spotlessly clean. We went into Newcastle shopping , got the local bus, bus fayres are only £2, cheaper than driving and parking. Will be back in the summer, looking forward to seeing the new rooms

Let’s address the title of the review first. There were a couple of little things that a fussy or moaning traveller might have picked up or mentioned, but nothing to reduce the overall impact of a great value stay, so I am not even going to say what they were. This is a great value location with lovely, friendly staff, nice facilities, some of which are being refurbished to be even better over the coming weeks. The place was clean, the bedroom was big and the bed comfortable too. The power shower and the bathroom toiletries were good and the free on-site parking was very convenient. And then came breakfast. Included in a very very compelling and surprisingly low room rate, the breakfast was as good as many I have had in 4 and 5 star hotels and better than most, and all served with a smile. I travel to the area for work on a regular basis and I will definitely be back. Thank you Sea Hotel Team. It was my pleasure to stay at your establishment.

Had a lovely lunch today. Good Friday. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous and the value for money, absolutely spot on. Register your vehicle at reception and you get free parking. What's not to love. Will definitely return 👍

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. Both times were through Groupon deals. We paid £59 for a room with breakfast and a free gin & tonic each. This is truly amazing value for this modern, friendly, clean and comfortable hotel. I believe all the rooms have a sea view. All the staff are very friendly. The beds are very comfortable. The only downside as far as myself and my partner were concerned was that breakfast was 7am - 9am. We didn’t make it for breakfast as we had over indulged in the hotel bar the previous night! Our fault I guess but I do think 9am is rather early. We will definitely be staying again though.

The hotel is opposite the beach and the view is very good. The room is small, but it is also enough, the furnishings are very retro and the bathroom is large. Free parking is available before and after. Downstairs there are Italian restaurants and bars, as well as a tea room. The tea restaurant closes at 6 o'clock in the evening, and the other two are 11:30. The soundproofing is not good. In the morning, I can hear the traveler next door. It is extremely noisy in the middle of the night. At 1 o'clock in the morning, the rock is stopped. . . . There is also a laugh. . . People who love to play are very suitable. I want to go on a quiet holiday, go to bed early or bring a baby, like me, even if I am

Even though the hotel is large and busy, it was a pleasant, relaxing stay. The location is a bit remote if you don't have a car, but the staff arranged good local taxis and directed us to the nearest Metro station. The rooms are good basic standard, the health club and pool are excellent and the bar-lounge has a well-organised bar and lots of TV screens to watch sport, including a nice side area with a big TV screen set up like a mini-cinema.The only moan was the breakfast - the scambled egg was very watery, the fried eggs were oily - the bacon sausages and beans were OK but the potatoes looked unappetising. The croissants and toast were fine, though, and the coffee machine did a good job - can we have a wider variety of fruit next time we come, please? All in all, I would recommend the Village as a pleasant, affordable place to stay with excellent facilities. We'll cetrainly come back when we're passing through Newcastle.

One of the ongoing AND repeat problems with ALL Village Hotels: It is quite difficult to find anyone at reception no matter what time it is! Extremely loud music blearing from downstairs, as if there was an Ibiza party! This started from around 7:45pm. I went to reception to complain but just could not find anyone at the hotel to help with anything at all. Finally found someone but they decided that it was the gym class that was about to finish soon! I told this receptionist that if this was the gym then there was no way it was going to finish soon because it only started 20 minutes ago. You would have thought a hotel receptionist would know what was going on at the hotel. But no, to start with, she still insisted that the music was about to finish soon, then she sent me away. 10 minutes later the music still did not stop and I had to go back to reception to request to change room - the same receptionist was still convinced that the music was going to stop soon, it was only because I told her that was not possible because the music had only started not too long ago, then she finally decided to phone the gym to ask! And then she confirmed that the class had just started! Finally she let me change room and I went back my room to start packing. Within TEN minutes housekeeping came to my room asking if I was moving to another room. I just felt I was now being hassled by the hotel! I told the lady from housekeeping that I was still packing as I have quite a few bags. Then I told her about the noise and she said “yes I know, it goes on until at least 9 o’clock”. The “new” room was also noisy because guests in the next room started chatting really loudly, and this room only one plug socket. Not a nice stay.
