It takes about 20min to walk from Notre Dame. Walk to eddy street for about 5min. The window looks out to Notre Dame. The surrounding environment is very quiet and suitable for a transition night.

Slightly expensive, but overall it's OK

In the school, in addition to parking, the doorman can stop and pay. Or stop at the door of the bookstore and find your own parking space. No self-service laundry, no free breakfast. However, in fact, the restaurant breakfast is very good, and the customer service is also very good.

In the school, the location is very good and I have to say. Hotel facilities are very good, parking is available. Every room is tight during the season and needs to be booked early. Regardless of economic factors, parents are the first choice.

Great location. But be aware: you cannot set your room's HVAC fan to always on. I like doing that to drown out noise while sleeping. You typically can do this in virtually all hotels, except this one for some reason. (And this is a relatively new hotel, built in 2010 and still in excellent condition. ) All the controls will allow you to do is to set the fan speed to Hi or Low, when the thermostat activates the unit. So, when the heat or AC cycles on, WHOOOSH!, it makes a loud sound, enough to wake everyone in the room. Your only alternative to get a decent night's rest is to shut off the HVAC unit and use your iPhone to play some YouTube background noise for 8 hours. Secondly, the non-continental options for breakfast are microwave turkey sausage or bacon with egg/cheese sandwiches. I have to say, they're heavily processed and so full of chemicals they have a weird dull flavor and aftertaste. Marriott needs to do better. *****Last thing: they charge you $11 per night for parking.

On the side of the University of Notre Dame campus, one side is the main commercial street. It should be noted that the hotel parking lot is available for an extra charge of $11 per day, and the parking space on the side of the road is free to park.

The room is large, clean, the bed is soft, the condition is OK, the breakfast is quite comfortable, it is a hotel relatively close to the University of Notre Dame nearby, and it takes less than 20 minutes to walk through the grove to the school.

Hotel parking is very good and free. Good location, not far from the main road, adjacent to another holiday hotel, the night is relatively quiet. The breakfast is very good, not many people, more abundant.

I stay primarily at Marriott for business because I can depend on the cleanliness standards, professionalism, and policies always falling with in a range of acceptability. Not always great, but sometimes, and never terrible to the point of unacceptable. During my recent stay I had to travel to the South Bend area for a week and then to the Indianapolis area for a week. Residence Inn was changing over to a new billing system during my stay and advised there would be additional minor funds held against my credit card during the change over, even though I paid ahead of time. Not a problem, have a decent limit and it would be refunded. Then my credit card started getting declined. Well apparently the new system had glitch and my credit card had 12 or more charge holds amounting to $12000. I talked to the clerk that evening and the he said the manager would call me back. I never received a call. Upon check out the Operations Manager was there and promised an executive level call back in response to this. It may happen, we’ll see. Luckily I have other credit cards to rely on during my travel, but what if I didn’t! Next issue is I checked out on Saturday at 9:00AM after checking in electronically to Townplace Suites in Indianapolis. I used a 12:30PM check in time and the system accepted it. My assumption is I’m good to leave get into my room in Indy. So, I leave South Bend headed to Indy to get my room and key, set up and get some work done. I get there and am advised by the clerk, who was very nice and polite, that she is sorry the app does that but no rooms are available until after 3:00PM. I would have stayed in South Bend and worked if the app had advised me that I could not check in at 12:30PM, but it accepted that input. Now I’m stuck driving around Indy with $12G racked up on my credit card until 2:00PM. 2:00PM by the way only because the clerk convinced the cleaning crew to have something ready earlier than 3. If she hadn’t at least tried I would have given 1 star. Oh and the washer dryer at the hotel is broken so I guess I’ll spend my time at a local laundry mat. I hate doing this and writing a bad review because I feel like all folks do today is complain, but I’m frustrated with the Marriott experience this time and have to vent.

Breakfast is good, the room can sleep four people with a large bed and a sofa bed.

This hotel is out of control. There were children of all ages running around the hotel the ENTIRE night, throwing garbage, running and screaming through the halls, racing and crashing luggage carts up and down the halls, knocking on doors and running away ALL night. The hotel staff refused to intervene and literally stated, ”There's nothing we can do.”. There was garbage all over the hotel and groups of drunk, belligerent adults openly drinking in the lobby and in the hotel hallways. The pool was full of unattended children of all ages, which is so sickeningly unsafe, and the staff did nothing to intervene. As a Hilton Honors member for more than 10 years, I have never experienced anything even remotely like this at any other Hilton property. Entirely inexcusable. The hotel staff at the desk even told us it was like that every weekend and a child actually pushed a staff member the weekend before and caused a spinal fracture to the employee. He just kept saying he wished he could help, but there was nothing he could do. There are a lot of other hotels in the area, and I would advise staying at one of them.

This property is old but has seen a good renovation, looks really good. Staff is super friendly and bar was great. It was great find for our 1 night stay, it has a Tesla charger which is super convenient. Why not 5 then? Because of the pet fee. Don’t get me wrong, I knew exactly how much it was but still find it outrageous $75 fee. Other properties are on $20 range and even gave a little welcome gift for our puppy, so HGI is really behind here.

During my stays at aloft South Bend on Main Street this month I interacted with many different staff members and all of them were friendly, happy, eager to help, and they answered any questions I had . One staff member named Kelsey went above and beyond in helping me. I also enjoyed the breakfast and dinner options here, the comedy show was enjoyable too. The hotel was well managed, clean, and organized. I will continue to stay at aloft because of my great experience here.

I have spent many nights at the Aloft for business. It is in a great location where you can walk to local restaurants. The staff are very helpful and polite. The rooms are spacious and clean. Thank you to Nicole, Libby, and Melissa for doing a great job at the bar..
