Hotels near Hallett Cove Beach in Adelaide

The Grand is without a doubt all about the location! Given it’s ocean front position it should offer an absolute premium experience but instead falls a little short as it continues to date without much sign of refurbishment. The rooms are basic, the carpets old, the furnishings aging and everything just feels in need of some love. Bathrooms still have showers over the bath with shower curtains and the air con in the room wasn’t very effective (too hot despite being on the coolest setting). There was also a wedding being hosted during my 1 night stay and despite my room being on the 5th floor (ballroom is on level 1), I could hear the band/music until the end of the reception at 11:30pm. On the positive (besides premium location), the staff at reception / concierge were excellent. They greeted with absolute care on arrival and happiness during check out, despite being early in the morning. It felt like they enjoyed what they did and that’s so good to see in customer facing roles. Worth considering this hotel for a stay, just as long as you’re happy with basic ammenities in a great location.

Although staff at reception were friendly and helpful, management need to allocate more resources to cleaning (as I’m sure the limited staff do what they can with the time they are allocated to clean each room). The state of my room was disappointing to say the least. Rubbish was left from the previous occupier in the bathroom cupboard and with the tea/coffee supplies. The floor looked like it had not been vacuumed. The thick layer of dust along the top of the bed head was unbelievable. It was warm in the room but the ceiling fan was filthy and therefore I didn’t want to use it. Thankfully the toilet, shower and bedsheets were clean but I honestly thought about leaving within 5 minutes of my arrival! The small on-site parking is handy, but it’s tricky to manoeuvre into and only available if you’re in early. The website photo of the executive room suggests it overlooks the park. Sadly, a view of the car park was for us, but the good thing about this was that it reduced the noise from the street. I will not stay at Ensenada again. I will avoid Glenelg as well - too noisy (late night bars), too busy, and quite grubby overall.

March 2024 Here is a list of issues you may have to deal with: 1. Lights are weirdly wired. You can’t turn on the bathroom lights without having the rest of the lights on. This is problematic when one is sharing the apartment and one needs to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. Other guests staying at the apartments had the same issue. 2. It is stated that the apartment has Netflix but it does not work. When I mentioned it to the marketing girl she said she would have it looked at but no one came to the apartment to repair the problem. Again, other guests staying in the apartments had the same issue. 3. When we arrived on the 13th, there was only one tea bag instead of 2. I was sharing the room with my husband, that is not thoughtful, obviously we would have needed 2 teabags. 4. We stayed 5 nights and only had the room serviced once. I had left the tag to service the room but it was only done once. 5. On the Saturday our room was finally serviced but they did not replenish the toilet paper and we were left with none which meant we had to purchase toilet paper as there was no one in reception. If conveniences and service isn't important to you then by all means stay here. The apartments are just off the main road that have lots of great cafes and restaurants. The apartments are brand new, fresh, clean and modern. The staff are helpful and listen to concerns you may have. Read less Tip: An apt description for this place is Location, Location, Location. Really clean and modern apartment with two good size bedrooms. The kitchen has an oven, dishwasher and all the electrical and cutlery you need. Perfect for families who may not always want to eat out all the time. Friendly staff. Woolworths is a 5-10 mins walk away. There is also Jenny’s bakery 15 mins walk along Glen Osmond Road towards the city who serves a great coffee and amazing pastries baked onsite! It’s only a 5-10 mins drive into Adelaide. Only feedback I have is the Block C 102 ground floor apartment we were appointed to could get very noisy with all the door slamming of people going in and out of the building. It can be really loud when you are sleeping since the apartment is right next to the foyer doors. Will consider staying again when we next visit Adelaide.

The hotel has a long history. The decoration in the public areas and rooms is very artistic, with many paintings. The elevator is still an ancient sliding door style. This stay was a very good experience, highly recommended!

A truly amazing experience, everyone who is involved here is friendly and so accommodating from the moment we walked in. The room is very comfortable and well appointed. The restaurant is top class, the guy running food and beverage is in a class of his own, he has made our stay an experience. Cannot recommend it enough we will make this our place to stay on our visits to Adelaide.

Good value hotel, high quality service, hotel has very good chef, barista, bartender, high quality and reasonable price dinner, barista is very very friendly, offered to make us free coffee, hot chocolate And also send a variety of snacks. We asked to adjust the room, the computer was out of order, and we waited for a while. The hotel staff offered us a free dinner and told us to order whatever we wanted. It was a wonderful experience to have a good Irish band performing every Wednesday night at the hotel.

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this year by visiting Adelaide. Stamford Plaza was our main base as we travelled throughout the region experiencing all of the arts, culture, history, Architecture, food and wine of the region. Our stay at Stamford Plaza was pleasant and clean with all the amenities needed in a central location. To raise the bar though it was the service we received at Stamford Plaza from Jacqui aka Jax that made it extra special. From her warm welcome, recommended attractions and hot spots to the extra special touches including bottle of wine to help us celebrate. Our memories of our stay in Adelaide were greatly enhanced due to Jax and the Stamford Hotel. Thank you!

I think the location is perfect. The hotel employees were kind. The room was very large. I stayed for 5 days and the cleaning was good.

Previously I have stayed in the accommodation and dined and both experiences were good. But today we were wine tasting. The spacious modern room allows for groups to share the experience, a private tasting area ideal for corporate functions and of course the bar. Wine flights are now the norm. I prefer this as paying a little respect s the product and staff. The days of buses rolling up and disgorging freeloaders are gone thank goodness. Now there is no rush and and you can savour wines, many not available at resale outlets. Bozena and Marty were great hosts. Recommended +++
