Tivoli Alvor

Just leaving this beautiful hotel, rooms very comfortable and spacious. We had ground floor room which had a lovely garden with sun loungers. Buffet restaurant had plenty of choice just wish food could have been a bit warmer. Italian and Grill restaurants both very good. 5 minute train ride to Alvor which picks you up at hotel runs every hour. Beautiful fishing village just visits were ruined by the rain. My son who is 11 was a bit bored think they could do more activities around the pool maybe they do in the summer months. Not sure! Overall lovely place

Tivoli Alvor was absolutely stunning. Visited in April 2024, the weather was great! The Rooms facilities were good and very elegant. Room service was always consistent and all the Tivoli Staff where really friendly and helpful even when there was a language barrier! To name a few names that personally stood out for me. All rated 10/10. Karla, Miguel, Marcelo, Pedro, Julia, Raza. All very friendly and informative and always greeted with a big smile! Would definitely recommend Tivoli Alvor for anyone looking to stay in Algarve. Everything is located at a good distance aswell. Villamoura, Albuferia, Alvor, etc Tivoli Alvor Resot isn't a crazy club scene resort but a modest peaceful resort with a good nightlife and good food! Not to forget the drinks ;)

I'll start with the positive. The hotel grounds are beautiful. It has a lot of potential. The drinks have a good selection and the pool staff are always around providing drinks.. We booked the hotel for a babymoon a last min trip for 6 nights. We arrived on Monday was allowed to use the facilities from the moment we arrived including food and drinks. We got to our room after three and whilst it appeared lovely on initial view it wasn't. We had blood on the floor from where someone had cut their foot on a door stopper blood on the under bedsheets. Ants in our room and the sink hadn't been cleaned. We called down and it took someone 2 hours to come and sort this out.. The buffet food is the worst I have ever experienced. Is say this is an upgraded child's menu nothing fancier then that. Mostly cold and the cereal was stale. Thankfully you can book into the Italian resturant and steak House which is what we did for every evening that was slightly better just more options would have been preferable.. however this is more edible then the buffet. They have a snack back for lunch time in addition to the buffet. 3 times the ice cream self service was broken and the ice cream was slushy. The bbq area was however nice. Food again needed improvement but I have learnt this is not really their thing. The pool... don't I booked this hotel mainly as it said heated pool.....no no it's not. Its not heated at all. The manager said that there was a broken component.... Well that's been broken for the entire time we were here. It was such a shame.alas you could get in the pool which was cold but once your in your in..don't expect that to be clean either. We haven't seen one person clean the pool or attempt to clean it.. I could deal with little stones and leaves and the flying bugs. But the woodlice looking things were my limit. I wouldn't even contemplate staying here again its a straight up no. It has SOOOOOOO MUCH POTENTIAL but the staff are overwhelmed and there is an obvious reluctance to put money into this to get it to a 5 star standard they are looking for. I'd suggest this is a 3 star resort maximum

Designed for adults and children with separate areas for both in beautiful garden setting. Well maintained and peaceful with no loud musak. Perfect for oldies although the site is built on a hill so walking may be a challenge for some. My only complaint was the temperature of any hot food. Tepid at best. A week was enough food wise, but we did enjoy the ambiance and the overall experience.

I stayed for 5nights, upon arriving I was told my room wasn't ready which I accept I arrived at 11:50am with check being at 3pm. I was told I had to sit and wait at reception until the room was ready, After an hour I spoke to Vanessa in guest relations who was able to at least give me a wrist band to start using the resorts facilities while we wait for the room to be ready. This was not offered to my by anyone on reception. A few hours later the room was still not ready it was now 3pm and yet no one would communicate to me I had to keep walking down to reception to be told it's not ready. At 4pm when I went down to reception I was told the room is now finally ready. When arriving to the room the floor was still wet. I was told I would get a bottle of water everyday but I never did!!! During meal times there was very limited vegetarian options which made it increasingly difficult to enjoy any food we had to eat fruit and chips pretty much everyday. The steam room might aswell have been turned off there was no steam from it at all. There were some individuals who went above and beyond to make use feel welcome and the names are as follows: Ana cunha - guest relations Michelle - head chef Lucas - Roastic waiter Vanessa - guest relations Kathleen - host I feel very disappointed overall with the whole experience this was not something I expected from a 5* resort.

Slightly l disappointed arrived at 11:30 after 6am flight from UK and told no food until 12:30 not even snacks (asked for a piece of bread and told no) … offered to pay for bread or snacks to help blood sugars … still a flat no … ouch … first world problems I know but 4 star hotel (really!!!) eventually bought own supply :0)

Positives: Bartenders were amazing, helpful and quick. Culinary services were simple and fast to book. Drinks offered at all inclusive were wide and known brands unlike most all inclusive resorts. Also offered a wide range of hand made cocktails. The train from the hotel to town was awesome, runs every hour on the hour and gets into town in roughly 15mins. Negatives: If you/someone you are travelling with has a sensory disorder the food at this resort is not great. There is always pork or fish available, rarely anything other meats. There is also a lingering oder of fish on all the foods. If you are staying on the bottom floor, you may get infested with ants like we did. I had raised the issue with guest relations on our Friday day and was told “someone will come by and deal with it” but the end of the week we had more ants and they were all over our table. The hotel is beautiful, rooms and big and new very impressed. Cleaners that clean room are great always spotless. The resort is really clean. Food is not the best at all cold and same thing every evening some evenings at buffet they don’t even have ice cream for kids…. Not impressed. My kiddies are fussy eaters so cold pasta and cold chips that are sometimes not cook is a huge disappointment for a beautiful hotel. Major need for improvement on the food side. Entertainment was okish could be better the kiddies disco is the same songs every evening. We did travel here off peak but it was still mid term so maybe they will be more prepared for summer guests- hopefully Will we come back ?? Yes as the hotel is really beautiful but I hope the food improves I will keep an eye on other reviews.
