This was our second two-night stay at the Reynolds Tavern. It is really like stepping back in time, with period-piece furnishing and what appear to be original wide-plank floors. The rooms are spacious and the inn-keepers are gracious, and the outdoor beer garden right there is so quaint! Breakfast is delicious each morning, with French-press coffee in the tea room, and they are very accommodating with special requests. There are no refrigerators in the rooms, so know that going in, but you get free water (bubbly and still), and of course there's wifi and tv for modern amenities. The bathrooms are fine! It can be a bit of a challenge to find an outlet to charge your phone, but they're there. Lastly, you get a little discount card for the parking garage, which is very close, and they have a little drop-off area to park your car so you don't have to schlep your stuff all the way to and from the garage. The location is walkable to pretty much everything you want to do in downtown Annapolis! This will probably be our go-to place from now on.

I wish the reviews for the restaurant/tavern versus the accommodations were more clearly separated, but if you look closely, you will see this listing is for the accommodations, and there is another listing for the restaurant. My mom and I stayed for two nights in the Washington Suite, and we had an incredible stay. We did a lot of historical activities during our 8 day road trip, and I'm a big fan of Washington and American Revolution history, so this room and tavern fit perfectly with the theme of our trip. The sitting room is large, and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom was updated and the shower was amazing. There was a flatscreen TV in a cabinet in the sitting room but we never used it. We had a great view of St. Anne's Church from our room. The building is old (obviously) so if you're a light sleeper you might want to bring a sound machine. It was relatively quiet while we were there, but when guests checked in across from us, we could hear some noise. Internet was offered though we had a terrible connection during our stay so we kept turning it off on our phones to use data. Check-in was a little confusing as someone was initially incorrectly parked in the temporary unloading space for guests, and then I ended up carrying my very heavy luggage up the stairs to the room by myself because no one was in the immediate vicinity to assist, but someone got there in time to help my mom. Parking was just a short walk away and they provide discount passes for that specific parking garage. Breakfast is made only for guests staying at the tavern - both mornings, my mom and I were the only ones at breakfast so it felt rather special to have breakfast made just for us! When we checked in, I was surprised to learn that only one option for breakfast is offered each day - I suppose it makes sense since there's a limited amount of people, but I have a lot of food issues so after seeing the schedule, I was going to skip the breakfast because it didn't sound like it would suit me, but we decided we might as well try it since it's included. It ended up being delicious. We did ask for a minor change for our second breakfast which was accepted. I'll admit that I was a little nervous to stay here because I'm used to having a lot more information and photos before staying somewhere, and I felt I couldn't get a clear enough idea of what to expect. (That's partly why I'm leaving such a detailed review - for anyone else who is like me!) However, it was such a great stay and we've already recommended it to several people. We would easily return if we're ever back in town. The location is great for exploring Annapolis on foot. Also, we had dinner at the tavern and had afternoon tea in the tea room, both of which were enjoyable. Recommendations to the owners: Update the website to show better and more photos! The website does not do it any justice. Consider giving guests a free drink coupon or dinner discount - seems like an easy way to add more value to

My mom and I went for afternoon tea with my 4 month old baby. There was no ramp for a stroller to get in, but a very nice man helped carry our stroller in. Our waitress, Stephanie, was SO nice. The pastries, scones, champagne, tea, & finger sandwiches were all delicious. However, the end of our time was tainted. None of the bathrooms have changing tables. When I asked our server if they had a changing table she said some people use a tall wooden table in the stall that they store their toilet paper on. It didn't seem sturdy / safe so I decided not to use it. We resorted to going in the basement and finding a private corner to change my baby and laid down multiple blankets / pads, etc. to keep it hygienic as well as disinfectant wipes before and after. There was not another person downstairs / it was empty so we weren't interrupting anyone. A woman (who I'm assuming was a manager) came down the stairs and started yelling at us. She was extremely rude and aggressive. We told her there was no changing table in the bathrooms and she said we could've put my baby on the rickety wooden toilet paper stand in the bathroom and I explained that I didn't feel safe putting my child on it / it was too small for her. There were no other solutions. She aggressively stormed up the stairs after yelling at us. It's a shame since Annapolis is known as being such a family-friendly city and every other restaurant we've been to has been so accommodating.

This is a wonderful historic gem. We chose the colonial high tea, which is an afternoon tea with the addition of a soup, salad or quiche. All the food was wonderful! They have some tea blends I’ve never seen at other tea shops. The setting was very relaxed and there was no pressure for us to leave. We had a fantastic afternoon. I’d definitely return for tea, but I’m planning to come stay at their B & B too.
