Quest Takapuna

Excellent central location with easy access around the North Shore and into the city. A new building with all facilities maintained in pristine condition. On line booking is very easy. We checked in extremely late (around 4am), and this process worked smoothly. We also booked a parking space under the building (not a critical requirement but convenient with limited street parking nearby). This was organised without any problem (the staff were very patient in handling my changes). While the hotel has no restaurant, there are a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance. Everything was good with our stay (3 nights), and I would recommend for business or holiday travel.

Had a great stay. Me and my partner arrived after reception closed during the holidays but retrieving our room keys were easy as you just call from the entrance and they’ll open a box to let you get your keys.

I could not stay in the room I had booked. I did not realise that the Quest Takapuna does not have opening windows nor is this pointed out on their website nor is it in the booking features nor is there anything in the room to advise that they have vented air in the room. I called the after hours manager only to get no response. I spent the night at other accommodation which was diffcult to find at that time of night. Since the room was not used, other than to walk in and then out I asked for a refund to be told that they could not do this. Suffice to say I will not be booking there again. A really disappointing experience.

Fabulous place to stay! The hotel is new, quiet, and very clean. The hotel room comes incredibly well stocked with things like coffee, milk, dish soap, laundry detergent which is replenished every single day. The kitchenette was very well equipped with pots and pans and spatulas and lots of dishes and glassware. Having the cleaning service each day was a bonus. The beds are so comfortable and very clean and I didn't get any allergies from dust mites which I usually do in hotels. The location is perfect as it is close to the motor way entrance (yet still totally quiet) and right across the street from BHive with multiple restaurants and coffee shops and a small grocery store. I had no issues with parking as I was given a dedicated spot underground. Will definitely be back!

The room was lovely and spacious and decorated really nicely. It was very clean and tidy in all areas. You could use steps or elevator and was a quick walk to shops and quick drive to Eventfinda stadium which is why I was there. Free movies in the room was a bonus and there was a large selection to chose from. Also the washing machine and tumble drier in the bathroom was an awesome feature Parking wasn't easy unless purchased through hotel and i world have liked more eateries closer by but all in all it was a great stay and I would stay again. Staff was friendly and housekeeping were lovely.

Good Apartment hotel, with everything needed for a longer stay. Only downside - no restaurant in hotel, grocery store a bit away- a bit problematic without a car.

I was disappointed in my stay at this hotel. While it’s location is convenient to many things it’s nearly impossible to find parking nearby. There is a small amount of parking in the basement but not enough for even a small fraction of total guests. Finding street parking in this area is a nightmare especially while local schools are in session. Our room was small but otherwise okay. Sadly the shower in our bathroom was very difficult to use without flooding the entire place. Some glass partitions or better fitting shower curtains were definitively needed. Our stay was also disrupted by ongoing construction noise from an adjacent building site. Not the hotel’s fault but annoying nonetheless. This facility clearly has a marketing deal with nearby Goodside. Goodside was hyped as "an exquisite collection of Auckland’s finest boutique food and beverage restaurants - one of Auckland’s more delectable dining destinations." So based on the hotel’s recommendation we braved the rain and went to check it out. It was neither delectable or even open in most cases. The best thing on offer was a Subway franchise. Some of the restaurants may have been open during the day but the place was dead in the evening. We were literally the only potential customers in the place. I don’t expect Goodside will survive much longer and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I also think it’s bad form that Quest endorsed it so favorably.

This is second time staying here. Top rate hotel. Has washing machine and dryer in room. Stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, jug, pots, plates, cups, glasses. Everything you need is there in the room. April at the front desk is kind and friendly and housekeeping are too! Highly recommend!
