We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the area. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

A small hotel, we rented a villa and we liked it. Friends took a room, but had to change the lower one to a higher room because of the smell of rot. Breakfast is good

The atmosphere at Kakul Villas is absolutely stunning! It is exactly what I had hoped for. The staff here, from the front desk to the restaurant staff and the cleaners are so friendly and have provided a great service! One staff member named Kayun was particularly helpful- him and his friend helped my boyfriend and I with delivering laundry to a nearby laundromat as the hotel does not provide this service. He went out of his way to assist us which was very kind of him. Our room cleaner has also been great. He always has a smile and cleans the room very well. The room we got (Suite with pool view) is perfectly spacious for a couple. We have access to the pool right from our porch. Would recommend Kakul Villas for a cozy stay in Ubud.

My friend and I stayed here as part of a trip, we stayed for 4 nights. Staff really nice and friendly Breakfast is great, not a buffet, order it of menu so it’s fresh. Room is really nice, bed pretty comfy and love the decor Love the pool entrance for the room Wi-Fi was really really good, our room had its own box in the room. Location was a pro for us but could be a con. It is a distance from ubud, however it was 60k in a cab, which is about £3. It’s nice and quiet so get best of both worlds. Shower is so so powerful but getting the right temp can take a few goes. And the floor gets slippery in the bathroom, which is pretty normal in hotel rooms. Villas are by working farms so it does smell sometimes but never enough to bother us. There is animals around, with it being a farm but never saw any vermin etc. My only complaint was no sun loungers, however I don’t know where they would put them. Overall I’d recommend it, but if you want to be in the centre this is not the right place.

Stayed here for 12 nights in. Wooden Heritage Villa. Pros Wooden villa is beautifully decorated Bed is comfy Clean Nice large room Basic kitchen for very basic cooking Amazing bathtub Lots of hot water Wifi is great Jungle like surroundings so if you don't like creepy crawlies this might not be for you but we don't mind We never got bitten by any mosquitoes Very central location Easy to travel into Ubud by motorbike Staff were friendly Cons It's a Wooden hut - it is by no means sound proof, so if you are above average sensitive to sounds, you might want to bring earplugs Housekeeping were very pushy in the morning - we were still in the shower and they will yell into the room wanting to come in to clean The pool could be cleaner Plastic water bottles - please switch to refills I don't think it's very walkable to Ubud. If you don't want to grab bike.or ride your own bike ai would choose elsewhere Overall a great stay for the money. Staff could be a bit more attentive Wooden villas are tired and so is the pool area but it's a sign of the times. Great for a shorter stay

From the moment we arrived at Kakul Villas & Suites, our experience went from bad to worse. Although we were kindly greeted by the receptionist and shown to our room, what seemed like a promising stay soon turned into a downright nightmare. Upon entering the room, we noticed a strong musty smell. We thought perhaps it was something that would dissipate with time, but sadly, it didn't. After unpacking after a long day of traveling, I decided to take a shower to relax. However, upon entering the bathroom, I was met with an unpleasant surprise: the largest wall lizard we had ever seen, which was also making a noise as it moved across the wall. Although probably harmless, its presence was terrifying, and my partner absolutely refused to use the bathroom while the reptile was there. I immediately went to the reception desk for help. They sent a security guard and a young man with a simple towel to try to capture the lizard. The situation turned ridiculous when, while trying to reach it, they accidentally turned on the shower, soaking an armchair in the room. After several failed attempts and further wetting the room, the lizard finally hid in the ceiling, leaving us completely uneasy. We requested a room change and were moved to a second-floor room, even though we had specifically paid for a ground-floor room with direct pool access. I also had to repack and unpack my suitcase, which is an additional and unnecessary hassle. After demanding a more suitable option, they offered us a "Deluxe Family" room, but only if we paid a price difference, which I refused to do, as it wasn't our fault. After wasting more than half an hour in unnecessary discussions and after sending photos of the lizard and the prices on the Booking website to the reservations manager, they finally agreed to move us at no additional cost. However, this change was only made after I sent the photo of the lizard, demonstrating a complete lack of professionalism and empathy on the part of the staff. The new “Deluxe Family” room, although more spacious, was in a deplorable state. The main door was old and difficult to open and close, the balcony door kept sticking, and the curtain fell on my partner's head due to the lack of a fixing stop. The mattress was uncomfortable, and the room, in general, was poorly insulated, allowing all outside noise to filter in, affecting our rest. Furthermore, the mosquito net was ridiculously small for the bed and permeated with an unpleasant odor, forcing us to sleep uncomfortably huddled in the center of the bed to avoid mosquito bites. When we finally decided to try to sleep, we encountered another serious problem: the bedroom door didn't fit properly.

Old villa, mosquito nets with holes, very average breakfast and to top it all off the noise from everywhere, in the evening until a certain time there are motorbikes but the worst is the hundreds of toads that are not stopped until 7 am. In front of the villa there is a vacant lot not maintained at all. Ubud is not very far but it is on the map but to get there it can take up to 30 minutes with the traffic jam. You will have to be motorized of course to move to Ubud or elsewhere.

Superb villa in Ubud with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room and swimming pool. Lovely staff and very pleasant location in the middle of nature. Cleanliness at the top but unfortunately breakfast leaves something to be desired. Not much choice and repetitive
