Stayed three nights for a netball tournament at the forum. Decent HIE. Diamond status nicely acknowledged and super friendly ladies on front desk. The burgers at the bar were very poor, but the breakfast is the best I’ve had at a HIE. Very close to shops at the retail park and only a short stroll into town.

Very disappointing experience having read and heard great reviews we kept an eye out for deals as the full price is just too expensive. The staff and hotel surroundings are fantastic however the room are dated with no aircon. The Thermal village was the biggest disappointment. Could not get into any of the hot tubs or pools are they were full constantly with groups who stayed for hours. A lot of cordoned off tubs along the river which you have to pay extra for. It reminded me of a Butlins holiday camp. Changing rooms do not have sufficient lockers or changing facilities for the level of customers they take in. The food in the restaurants totally overpriced and extremely poor menu. Whilst the breakfast buffet was exceptional the cooked breakfast was bland with only pork & leek sausages available which is not to everyone’s taste. Overall I don’t feel this is a 5 star resort. There are more affordable resorts in Ireland that deliver a much better all round experience. Everything had to be pre booked on a app we were even asked to use the app to view the dinner menu. Such a shame for a place that has the potential to get it right. Way way overpriced in every aspect.
