What an absolute disappointment!!!! I booked last minute as a stop off to Brighton, and stayed here a few years ago and can remember it being OK.. But christ it's gone downhill... We were outside in the car park.. I the room was incredibly small, and the fridge hadn't been cleaned, there was evidence in the bathroom from the previous occupiers!!! And it was by far the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on, and I'd rather sleep in the car than there again.. We checked in and the guy on reception couldn't have more uninterested, he made us feel like a total inconvenience and in our opinion should never work with people

On arrival the receptionist was unable interested and quite rude, he gave no information. The room was small and dingey. Plug sockets were either over loaded or not working. The water pressure in the shower was non existent. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing ever, the floor, if there was space would have been more comfortable. Checking out there was not a member of staff to be found!!

At the height of this summer's heatwave, I attended the Cropredy festival and unwisely chose to book a room for the Saturday night with The Lismore Hotel, a place that makes Fawlty Towers seem like a 5-star luxury palace. No air-con. Just a rickety old fan stashed away in a closet. It gave up on me after an hour and so I was forced to attempt sleeping in the unforgiving heat. The ignorant guy on reception refused to give me access to any drinking water, despite the heat and humidity. I'm assuming this hotel had a kitchen and a tap. There was no excuse for his rudeness. The décor does not appear to have been updated since the mid-'70s. I almost gagged on the smell of stale food permeating my HOT room. The Lismore is surely due a visit from an inspector!

I travel for work and they decided to put me up in the lismore hotel for a night , first of all I work long hours so when I arrived I had no time to check in, knowing it was going to be late I rang up to check if it was okay since I was working until 11pm. They said no, was going to charge an extra £40 for a late check in which is ridiculous! Not everyone can check in straight away. So I left work and headed to the hotel, when I got there, asked to check in they said I hadn’t paid, now since this was a work trip, my company had paid and sent me 3 different confirmations but the receptionist wasn’t having it! Had to get my manager on the phone, who at the time was running a busy restaurant! I hope my company will never use this hotel ever again

Shabby, overpriced unfriendly. No bar, no atmosphere. One of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in. Do yourself a favour, pay a few quid extra, and stay somewhere that cares about people. This may have been a good place to stay a long time ago, but under its current management it's a place to be avoided.
