Beijing Badaling Great Wall Cao's Courtyard Hostel Reviews

This is a cute tucked-in-a -corner type of hostel. Like a bed and breakfast. The room us a bit cold in December but it didnt deter me from coming back next year around August ir September. Not easy to find off the main road but following the map helps. The husband & wife team are excellent host and accomodating. I had problem ordering a taxi to Beijing and they helped me ordered a local cab within minutes. They went Abode and beyond

David, Spoke English (so does his wife). He met us when we arrived and was very helpful in orienting us. He brought us extra blankets for the cold & stayed in touch on WeChat with directions & clarifications as needed. The place was simple but it worked great for us! Fantastic value & a friendly welcome!

Staying here was like being part of the family. As soon as I had booked, May contacted me and assisted me in finding transport. Upon arrival, David came out to meet me to make sure I didn’t get lost. David also took me sightseeing a bit later. I was able to enjoy home cooked meals for supper and breakfast. It was just an incredible experience to be treated with such warmth and genuine care. It was a positive experience from start to finish. Even after I had left, David contacted me again to make sure I had arrived safely at my next destination. It was a genuine 5 star experience. 😀😀😀😀😀

The courtyard of the Siheyuan is so quiet and leisurely beyond imagination. Every flower and plant in the courtyard reveals that the landlord is a person who loves life very much. The dumplings and noodles are delicious, especially the fried rice is very fragrant and very good. I will stay at their house again next time I come.

Excellent value. The hotel is very well located for the entrance to the Chinese Wall on the Badaling side. 12 minutes walk from the wall. Consider going there when it opens because it is the most popular entrance but if you like to walk just keep going, people don't go that far. The staff is very warm, family a**osphere. Very cute hotel. Very attentive staff, very kind and very helpful when it comes to itineraries. Speaks English very well. And we eat very well there! I recommend 200%

The accommodation is quite close to the S2 station, and is located at the entrance to a charming old village. The rooms are very good and overlook a very pleasant courtyard! The family is very friendly. David helped me book my train tickets and can advise you on the surrounding area. There is the possibility of eating a good noodle dish on site. Thank you very much, everything was perfect!

Very satisfied. The price is affordable in the off-season. I went to climb the Great Wall and checked in here in advance. It's very good. There is a long pedestrian commercial street. It is still under renovation.

A little corner of paradise, you are not very far from the Chinese wall, not very far from the station and Restaurant around.  The owner bends over backwards for you. Always smiling and at your service. A well-kept garden, where you can relax after long walks. I highly recommend it . 

Accommodation experience in the Siheyuan under the Great Wall. It is very close to the S2 Suburban Railway Badaling Station and within walking distance. The owner and his family are very welcoming and the courtyard is very comfortable. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the Badaling Great Wall in the morning! It’s just that the train timetable seems to change every half month, the train frequency is less intensive, and there may be no trains after 1830. Because it is a suburban B&B, all aspects of the conditions cannot be compared with urban hotel standards. The electric water heater in the room is only enough for one person at a time. The next person will have to wait a few minutes for the hot water to heat up. The room is warm with floor heating and the mattress is supported. A little worse, it only comes with one pillow, and the bathroom and toilet are simple and clean!

I can only say it's OK, not very good, to be honest

When I brought my children to Beijing, I wanted to experience life in a courtyard with them. After checking in, I discovered that Caojia Siheyuan is an authentic old Beijing Siheyuan B&B. Our family of four had two rooms and stayed in a wing of the Siheyuan. The children's room was across from ours and shared a small hallway-like door. There is a small yard facing out the door. In the winter, children can play in the snow and table tennis in the yard. The most amazing thing nearby is that in addition to climbing the Great Wall, you can also ski. My child was able to slide down the best slide after a day of skiing, which is great 👍

The owner is a sweetheart) speaks excellent English. He made us delicious tea 🥰 It’s a 20 minute walk to the wall. Be sure to stay overnight! The view of the wall at night and the road to it is much better than during the day!

I experienced a Beijing courtyard house with complete facilities and clean rooms. The owner was enthusiastic and introduced the Great Wall tour route and related matters. He also chatted with me for a while. His dumplings and noodles with soybean paste are delicious.
