Accomodation was rustic but excellent.We took a fully filled group of car enthusiastists and they looked adter us extremely well.Nice nibbles and good basic roast at very reasonable price. Next a BBQ done by manager rather than a bun fight worked well and again reasonable quality and good price particularly given location and staffing isdues. Would recomend and go again Grahame

Genuinely incredible experience : the meal and actual accommodation (stayed just the one night) were both excellent but that's not what sets Ratho Farm apart. The verbal 'walk' through the history of the farm prior to dinner - given enthusiastically by owner Greg Ramsey - was unique (for me at least). I reckon the bloke has given that talk a thousand times but makes it sound like he's telling it for the first time. I was with a friend this time but even if I'd been flying solo you'd instantly feel part of the group. As for the golf the next day ... well, the Ratho Farm course is something else. The oldest golf track in Australia, it's also the 'weirdest' - and I say that with great affection. Ratho Farm owes me about 10 balls but given I found as many, I'd say we're all square. Seriously, if you love your golf and you're up for a bit of fun, Ratho Farm is the place to be.

Great place to stay; lovely staff, beautiful food and a great atmosphere. Perfect for families, large groups or solo as I was. Dinner was a real treat and a great way to meet other guests. Steeped in history I could have stayed longer and spent more time exploring Bothwell. I will be back.

We really enjoyed our night at Ratho. Our cottage was nice and comfortable, the grounds were interesting and the homestead steeped in history. The food was amazing and to top it all off we absolutely loved the overview of Ratho and the stories that were delivered by the owner with great humour. This talk made it one of the absolute highlights of our Tasmanina trip. Great care needs to be taken in the upkeep.of the buildings and relics to ensure it does not fall onto a state of disrepair.

If you are looking for history great food very comfortable digs and to say you have played golf on the oldest course in Australia then come to Ratho. We would certainly recommend.. stayed in the ‘BAKERY’ lots of room .. so comfortable king bed and a running creek at our back door ! Greg was the best host and historian. His knowledge of his family’s ancestry along with wonderful stories made the stay very memorable.

The golf and dinner here are unique. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a weekend at an Edwardian estate in olden times. Dinner is communal affair with reading from the estate history. The course plays around the farm, much as it would have done 100 years ago.

We found out about The Ratho Farm Stay through other motorcyclists. Could not have been happier. Would definitely return and spend more time. Walked part of the amazing Golf Course but did not have time to play. We were made extremely welcome in the Homestead and thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal and the Book Reading. Our host was amazing. Thoroughly recommend staying there.

Our group of 10 stayed in the Bothwell Hotel as part of our tour around Tassie. We stayed for 3 nights. Some initial communication hiccups were quickly resolved by Jo and the team. Lovely old building with lots of history and character. We ate at Ratho farm on our last night. Lovely dinner and some history provided by our host

Well maintained historic site is both relaxing and interesting on its merits. Meals allow for some extrovert time, otherwise a very private spot.There were a couple of hiccups around dining, but they were one offs.
