I took my girlfriend here for her birthday with a great deal I found. We got cream tea, breakfast, a welcome drink and money towards a meal on the first night. We stayed in the Artists room in the house itself and had a lovely spacious room with even a bath tub in the room. We had such a lovely stay and the hotel staff were very welcoming. They even did a little towel work and gave my girlfriend a card. Little things go a long way! It is a great location if you want to venture out to Bath or Bradford on Avon or just for walking. I would highly recommend!

Lovely hotel , staff excellent we were made to feel very welcome , stayed in no 11 , lovely warm room with a huge bed … wonderful . Food excellent , my only regret is that I didn’t take my swimming costume to enjoy the super pool. Ideally located for sightseeing

Absolutely fantastic stay. Everything about this hotel was amazing. Great service, great food, well priced drinks and very clean. The hotel is very well placed for Bradford on Avon and surrounding area and although just off a main road, being down a long drive there is no traffic noise. In fact it was one of the best stays we’ve ever had anywhere in the UK!

The hotel itself is quite charming, but our bedroom was very tired - all of the double glazed windows were blown, black mould on shower sealant and the whole room in need of painting. The biggest disappointment was in the management response to complaints about the food at dinner and the appalling state of the toilets for the restaurant; they were so bad that my wife went to our room to use the bathroom. The management were totally indifferent and have not responded to two emails I sent on the matter.

Overall the main house is well presented (and photographs well) however our room in the Piggery was scruffy. The Gins were lovely but the food was overpriced at roughly £25 - £35 for a main. Heating in the room came on at 1am which woke us up (very noisy as was the extractor fan) & needed to be turned off. Breakfast was lovely but multiple mix ups meant it took about 50 mins to come to us. No advertised welcome drink provided which didn’t concern anyone when we checked out. Grounds are a bit tired & we expected more based on the description. I have stayed at better & wouldn’t stay again.

I booked this spontaneously for 1 night room only for my wife's birthday! The room was described as a cosy double with the size of the room printed underneath, I thought a spacious cosy double it is then, and off we went. Johnny on reception was welcoming but sadly room 9 wasn't . We wanted to relax in our room with a glass or two before having dinner there but the size of the room didn't offer this, so we went out and explored and ate in Bradford on Avon by the river and just used the room as a base.

Booked two nights, our room was fairly small with one old creaky wardrobe, during our stay the swimming pool closed due to maintenance issues and on the second day the water to our room was turned off without notice, no welcome drink offered as advertised. Restaurant food mostly is fine though very expensive, as is the bar, as a previous review said a pint of beer will cost you over £10.00. The “Grounds” are dilapidated buildings and fields and the local town is full of coffee and charity shops. On our return I wrote to the Manger, Mr Griebenow, assumed he would have been concerned, in his reply he clearly did not care, he accepted the service had been substandard, he said if we were to make the almost 400-mile round trip again he would offer 15% off a room. Just have to put it down to a bad experience and a lack of good customer service.

Richard and Fed's wedding was wonderfully catered for. The rooms are quirky and comfy, food was exquisite, and staff really friendly. Not cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for! The amount of detail that has gone into the decoration and themes is truly amazing.

I have just spent sometime reading other negative reviews on this hotel.My advice would be read these before you book,as having stayed at this hotel (for no small fee might I add) you will get a very true reflection of what you will get.The saying you get what you pay for sadly doesn't count here.I certainly wish I had taken the time to read these.You will also see all the replies to dissatisfied customers are the same generic responses,which go way back and as far as I can see no attempt as ever being made to rectify any of the problems. The website mentions 11acres of gardens ? we only managed to find muddy fields with rubbish and rusted discarded machinery and an old caravan.It also says its being refurbished from top to bottom,well I have already left a review of my stay along with photos of our room so you be the judge.I have updated my last review as going back to the website i find it a little misleading (I don't see the condition of our room featured on the website)and wished I had researched further.
