The facilities are a bit old, but they were much better than expected. The lobby has the classic charm and heritage of a long-standing star-rated hotel, which is hard for other hotels to replicate. The staff's professionalism far exceeded that of hotels I've stayed in before. This could be due to their training system or company culture, and the difference between the two really changes the service experience.

The floor supervisor, I think a lady surnamed Jin, was very service-oriented. Knowing we were tourists, she suggested we check out the 8th floor. Realizing we had been out all day, she quickly sent up extra bottles of water. The breakfast staff, even the younger ones, were equally attentive and always smiling.

In the morning, I called a hotel I frequently used, a certain 'Jiang' hotel. The reservation department's simple, procedural response, and the young lady's bureaucratic attitude, directly pushed us towards Wanghu.

The room was very spacious and even had a balcony. Traveling with my parents, who prefer a firm bed, the flippable mattress was perfect for them, and they slept really well. Waking up in the morning, I could hear birds chirping. The natural surroundings made for a very comfortable trip.

Zhejiang Hotel, a former palace of Lin Biao converted into an old-school hotel, surprisingly exceeded my expectations across the board. It's especially ideal for those looking to explore West Lake in depth.

The hotel is located in Mailing, on the inner side of West Lake, offering a quiet retreat away from the crowds. However, quiet doesn't mean inconvenient. Its location is right next to Maojiabu. Heading west will take you straight to Longjing Village; east directly to West Lake; north to Hangzhou Botanical Garden; and south, without any turns, to Manjuelong and Hupao. Essentially, it's at the heart of the inner West Lake and West Mountain scenic spots, with direct bus access. It perfectly balances tranquility and convenience.

The room was also a pleasant surprise. I booked using a 500-yuan-a-night package voucher, and the kind lady at the front desk upgraded me to an executive king room. It felt like a mini-suite, featuring an oversized bathroom, a fantastic bedroom, and a balcony overlooking the hotel's interior. The room was well-equipped, clean, and tidy, with unique touches like vintage-style busts of historical figures and pull-chain lamps. I'd describe it as classy and tasteful. 👍

The hotel grounds themselves are quite expansive, boasting beautiful inner courtyards. Just strolling around the hotel felt like visiting a scenic attraction. The breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety and delicious flavors.

Overall, Zhejiang Hotel truly lives up to being named after a whole province. At 500 yuan a night, staying in a hotel like this is incredibly comfortable. I highly recommend it.

This hotel is in a small island and from the parking lot they will pick you up with a small cart. There are different kind of rooms depending on the price. We had the cheapest one but trip promised they will give us an upgrading and do they did. We got a bedroom and living room with balcony and nice view of the lake. Breakfast has many choices. It is nice to walk around the island but there is nothing else around. All three hotel restaurants are quite expensive.
There is also an outdoor and indoor pool.

The hotel was a comfortable stay and the family room was spacious. It’s a short walk to the metro station and nearby convenience stores and restaurants. The housekeeper was very detailed. The hallway to our hotel room seems older, but our room had high ceilings. I did not like that the room next to us was a smoking room because that guest would smoke and leave their door open. They should put non smoking rooms next to each other to avoid this.

Xiao Wu and Lily are very helpful. We have a pleasant stay in the hotel especially during the typhoon. They assist us to set up for food delivery etc. really appreciate it.
