Location of this hotel is excellent! Extremely easy to find - exit from the Chikushi Gate (East) at JR Hakata station and walk about 5 mins to reach the hotel. There is also a bus stop just 100 meters away (1 min walk) that you can take from the airport to reach the hotel, or from the hotel to reach the airport. 

Room is clean and decent size. Love the bathroom and the standing shower which has a nice rain shower, handheld shower and jacuzzi style massage shower. There’s also a bathtub for those who like to take baths. Room amenities can be obtained at hotel lobby so there is little waste - just take what you need. 

There is also a coffee machine that is free at the lobby. There is a self-service washing machine and dryer at level 3, level 7 and level 11. There is also a Family Mart just infront of the hotel and also a Lawson just around the corner. Great for getting late night light snacks. Overall, an excellent hotel! Highly recommended!

We stayed at this hotel for the second time, and the location is superb. We love the area, especially since Hakata Station is just across the road, making it incredibly convenient for getting around Fukuoka.

The only downside during this stay (this time) was that our room smelled like smoke at night. We contacted the staff because we initially thought it might be a safety concern. They checked and informed us that everything was fine and that our room was next to an izakaya.

As a result, it felt like we were sleeping inside a restaurant kitchen for all five nights due to the lingering smell. :(

That said, I would still recommend this hotel and would probably stay here again because the location is hard to beat. However, I would definitely request a room on the other side of the building next time to avoid the smoke issue.

Clean room and size seems to be bigger as compared to other hotel rooms with same size probably because of the layout. Individual aircon control for rooms and Refa shower head in the bathroom. Stayed in level 6 which the corridor is a bit musky smell as aircon is weak. Went to level 2 to collect ice and found that level 2 corridor aircon is strong and without smell. Overall stay is good as there is stairways leading to metro just outside the hotel after less than a min walk.

Kitahama is pretty quiet at night. There are only two elevators, so you might have to wait during peak hours, but it's usually not for too long. One early morning, some guests were talking loudly in the hallway, which was annoying. The breakfast selection isn't huge, and the taste is just so-so. They do have an electronic scale to weigh your luggage, which is handy.

Located at the busy Namba which is convenient. But quite walking distance from main Namba station. So if from airport with luggage you need to drag but flat surface. Hotel provided free flow amenities (small towel, hair comb / brush, lotion, milk cleansing, bath powder) at the lobby which is a plus point. 

FamilyMart is right opposite hotel and hotel is surrounded with many other restaurants (halal restaurants were also walking distance such as A5 pangk wagyu and tendon halal). 

Near with two Donki and near the busy shopping distance. Room was spacious for Japan. Check in and check out was easy. Iron provided / hair dryer upon request.

I don't understand why this hotel was prioritized in my search results. It's essentially a budget hotel. I chose it because I saw great reviews online, saying it was super close to the station – right across the street – and had a generous breakfast.

However, when I actually got there, I found it was still a good fifteen-minute walk from the JR station. So, if location is your priority, I'd recommend other hotels right next to or even inside the JR station, like the Nikko. If you want a better quality stay, you could always take a taxi to other mid-to-high-end chain hotels in the city center; at least then you're guaranteed quality.

The breakfast was just okay, nothing special. The 'exquisite Japanese breakfast with seafood' only consisted of a tiny plate each of sashimi and shrimp. I found the rest of the food to be pretty average. Don't be fooled by the luxurious seafood rice bowls in the promotional photos...

As for the room, I arrived at the hotel close to 7 PM. When I entered my room, I found the window faced an outdoor staircase, which was dark and quite unsettling. The key thing is that the room photos during booking didn't show this kind of layout for this room type, so I asked to switch. The hotel, however, said it would cost extra. I thought about checking out, but it wasn't an option. So, I just paid the extra and endured two nights. It was pretty frustrating, to say the least.

Service and Facilities: Don't expect much from a budget hotel's service; it's just adequate. You get two 330ml bottles of water daily, no more. The room was very damp. Even though I kept the bathroom dehumidifier running 24/7, the bedding was still damp and uncomfortable to sleep on. After all the previous issues and discussions, I couldn't be bothered to 'battle' over the bedding now. The TV has screen mirroring, but no cable TV. If you want to watch something, you have to log into your own accounts on TikTok or other apps, which is quite inconvenient for someone used to having the TV on for international news.

So, overall, I definitely do not recommend this hotel.
