We checked in. Immediately you could tell it was a situation where they've tried to make the property look nicer/updated, but all around the updates things were very old and messed up. It didn't smell great.
The front desk woman was kind, very soft spoken and unsure of things, but very nice.
We went to our first room and my son immediately noticed there were SEVERAL hairs all over the bed/sheets. Then I checked the other bed and there was an actual dead bug under the covers on the sheet. So at that point, I went downstairs and asked for a refund and told her we'd go somewhere else. She said we booked through a third party site so they couldn't give us a refund. I asked for a 2nd room and we would go from there.
We go to the 2nd room, and it was worse than the first one. There was something splattered all over the wall/wall art that wasn't attempted to be cleaned at all. You could tell there had been something all over the headboards as well as it was not fully cleaned, it was just like smeared as they tried to wipe it but didn't fully clean it all off.
I genuinely could not stay here and feel comfortable enough to sleep. I called my husband (my son & I were out of town for an event he had) he said find another place to stay, I'll send the money. So we did. I went downstairs, told the front desk lady that we just could not stay here and I would be in contact with ******* about our refund. We went 10 minutes down the road, found a much much cleaner place for $7 more.
