Reviews of The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa, Cancun

The hotel feels a bit dated, like one of those older-generation resorts (which is common in Cancun, given that the first Hyatt was developed here back in 1974), but it's well-maintained and the rooms are very clean. The two-bedroom suite is actually a one-bedroom suite connected to a standard room next door. There are many Westin Vacation Club salespeople here promoting timeshares, all part of the Marriott group, and they frequently call the rooms.

I recommend about the hotel and the service . The room was super clean, the staff very nice. I like the swimming pools.

Excellent location, cross street of a shopping mall. 10-15 min walk to a grocery store and the hotel has a convenient store on site, it offers nice bakeries for the breakfast if you dont want to spend $20+ for the hotel breakfast.

The rooms are quite dated. We booked a sea-view room, but were inexplicably assigned a ground-floor room. To add insult to injury, even after tipping, they offered to move us to a higher floor, but it would have a view of a garbage disposal plant. Definitely would not recommend.

I've been to this resort hotel twice. In low season, I paid around $150 a night. Here in December, it was too much, like $450 a night. Still, it's an amazing hotel! The location is perfect, right in front of La Isla Mall. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are friendly. The cocktails by the pool and the food are a bit pricey, in my opinion. The spa is also expensive. I don't understand this whole "you're in Mexico and they have European-like prices."

The room was a bit dated, but the sofa bed was large enough for an adult. The bathroom didn't have toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers, so I called the front desk earlier to have them delivered. Room service was very slow, requiring a 30-minute wait.

The hotel is very big and family-style. I have stayed in other Westin hotels in Cancun and each has its own merits. This one is opposite the mall and is very convenient for shopping.
