I stayed there two nights for the trip. For the first night, it wasn’t good at all about the general water to use but the second night was good.

A tired hotel that feels like more of a Homestay and quite unloved . The price is too high for the quality of the hotel . The whole place is not very clean at all . Breakfast however is pretty good but very unorganised .

The room is large, the breakfast is semi-self-service, it is convenient to call a taxi, there are few restaurants nearby, the environment is quiet, the staff is good, and the price is high.

Dilapidated hotel, room to renovate, lack of comfort. Non-contractual!

A wonderful garden, nice rooms and bathrooms, good restaurant and very polite and efficient staff. The hotel is a quiet oasis far from the noisy Battambang and the ratio price quality is perfect. A perfect place in Cambodia

The Sanctuary has the great atmosphere of a hidden secret garden with a pool in the middle surrounded by bungalow style rooms. The rooms are very spacious but would need a bit of a facelift, including the change of some furniture and that would really elevate the marketability of the hotel. The staff were super nice, they organized a boat ride for the next day very late in the evening. It didn’t even feel right to complain about the fact that they forgot our promised packed breakfast the next morning.

The pictures are over 10 years old. Please take time to investigate BEFORE paying for a room. The hotel is half the size shown, the rooms have not been refreshed in many years. The bathroom is dirty, small, and the toilet and shower room is on broken cement on a downward slope. The mattress is very hard so if stiff, hard mattress is your choice, it may work for you. Just very, very difficult for any person with disabilities.

Our stay here ended up working quite well and we only needed to walk the 10mins into town once. In the afternoons and evenings it was lovely to come back to the pool. Only issue was the mosquitoes which the pond next to our room can't have helped. They do have nets for the beds. Breakfast was a great selection for a smaller place like this and we also had dinner one night which was reasonably priced and tasty. They organised a car transfer to Siem Reap for us at a good price and were quick to respond to messages. For the price, this was a good value stay.

A lovely tranquil family run hostel/ hotel. The layout is peaceful and lush.. lots of greenery. The food is delicious.. tastes like your mum is cooking for you (adding to the family vibe). It is slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Battambang and so does feel like a bit of a sanctuary. Maybe not a European standard 4 star but it is very clean

My Khmer wife and I have been staying here for the past nine months during the covid pandemic. However we have recently been advised by the owner that he has accepted a 12 month contract with an agency, for thirteen rooms x two days a week. So sadly we have to leave by May 20th, which puts us in a real dilemma, as there is very little long term accommodation available in Battambang, The resort is on the edge of the town centre and only 15 minutes walk to Lucky Supermarket. The owner and staff all speak English and are very helpful. Surrounded by lovely gardens, a 15 metre pool and nicely furnished rooms, we recommend this resort for a short stay.

This is a great hotel. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped. The restaurant is excellent and the gardens are beautiful. The manager speaks good English and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's great value and close to the city. I can recommend it highly.

We spent a couple of nights here. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating, especially since we were leaving on a night bus. They allowed us to check out late and then held our luggage for the rest of the day. Breakfasts were a good selection and we had a nice dinner a couple of times too. My only complaint was the speakers blaring from a temple (or whatever) down the road. On the last day they blasted all day long, very annoying! I’m not sure if it was worse that day because of a wedding taking place. I understand that is not the fault of the Sanctuary but they need to ask their neighbours to have more consideration or it will ruin their business.

This is an incredibly peaceful place! After the hot and dusty travel to Battambang, it was such a pleasure to settle in to a beach chair next to the pool, surrounded by beautiful plants, and just relax! This is a smaller property with friendly staff in a beautiful setting. The room is dated but very comfortable. Breakfast was served on the patio, with several choices and a lovely plate of fresh fruit. Just a breath of fresh air all around! Great spot as a base to explore the Battambang area, including the bamboo railroad and the flight of the bats at dusk.

The bungalows, at first seemed fine and clean, Unfortunately, after the first night sleep we realised that as the windows and doors had spaces around them, they let in all sorts of wildlife. In the morning i was covered in bites despite using plug in Mossie repellants and spray. We used the mosquito nets around the bed but they had holes in them. After travelling around Cambodia and Singapore it was the only place this happened. Breakfast the first 2 morning was a buffet, which was served outside and uncovered. So we stuck to the eggs made fresh in front of us, with nothing added as there were flies etc on the toppings. The last morning we had to fill in a form the day before, so unsure how long our order was sat there for. The road outside was ok in the daylight but very dark at night so used the tuk-tuks to get to and from the town. It was lovely and quiet when we were there, no problems there. The hotel ordered us a taxi for the journey to Phnom Pehn. The driver had no English and did the 6 hour journey in 5!!!! This also included a stop for him to get his car washed as well as a quick lunch stop. It was a bit scary ride. Wouldn't recommend him.
