The Huntsman

I took my family for Sunday dinner. The food and dining area is fantastic. Big warm fire and a chilled atmosphere. Will be back very soon for birthday celebrations in December. I highly recommend this pub/restaurant.

Came with a group of friends we all had pizzas I orderd chicken tikka with a balti sauce base They came back from the kitchen saying no chicken tikka meat left so they put normal plain chicken breast not saying we can knock you a bit of discount off as an apology this pizza was £15 and didnt get what i orderd And the sauce base didnt really have sauce on ,i wont b returning for food and not sure i would return for drinks either very expensive

I've just spent a couple of nights at this lovely public house. My hosts were generous and helpful. I had tasty evening meals that filled me so much I couldn't have the full English the next morning! The accommodation is a little worn but to me that is no problem if I have a comfortable bed and hosts who want to make sure you enjoy your stay. The Huntsman is the antithesis to the corporate chains - which is a good thing in my book!

We booked The Huntsman as a cheaper alternative to paying the shocking prices for the Alton Towers Hotel. We arrived after a long day at the theme park to a very warm and welcoming country pub. Staff were attentive and friendly. They had a reduced menu of pizzas and sides due to being in between chefs but this didn't matter as they were delicious and very popular! Our room was lovely and clean, a nice lit up fireplace and the bed was so comfortable. The only problem we had with the room was we couldn't lock it from the inside. We had breakfast included in our *********** offer. We were the last ones down but nothing was too much trouble. Full English - sausage, bacon, beans, fried egg and mushrooms with toast or whatever parts of it you wanted. The only slight disappointment was the sausage that had obviously been cooked in advance and looked a bit anaemic. At £42 each for bed and breakfast we would definitely stay at this cosy little pub again, thank you.

Stayed here over night as we were visiting Alton towers, got into our room, which was covered in dust, the sofa bed was no fit for purpose, resulting in a bad sleep for one of our group, bathroom dirty and mold on bath. Only once arrived where we informed no chef so only serving pizza so had to go further afield to find food. Half the staff friendly, half miserable. Breakfast was ok at best. Massively over charging. Won't be returning

Me and my partner both had a brilliant experience at this hotel and pub. The room was cosy, clean and spacious. All the staff were very friendly and took time to talk about our day! Defiantly the most accommodating members of staff at any hotel I’ve been to. The food was both delicious and brilliant value for money! the portions were also very generous.

We celebrated our grandaughters christening, after the church service, at the Huntsman pub. What a great time we all had. The food was varied and delicious (hot and cold) and nothing was too much trouble for the owners Kieran and Connor. All the family commented on the quality of the buffet and the welcome everyone received.
