The Hotel & Athletic Club at Midtown Reviews

Gym and pool areas are luxurious compared to typical hotels. There's a lot of noise when in the hotel room, they provide ear plugs but it would be better to fix the problem rather than cover it up.

This was a happy surprise. Clean and comfortable attached to a giant state of the art health club so it has a great pool and other terrific amenities….no more staying in downtown Chicago for me!

Everything was amazing! Great amenities! Room was a little cold for our kids but other than that SUPER!

Has all the amenities you could want for a quick stay or otherwise. Especially if you like to exercise.

My visit started with a stellar introduction to David, who greeted me by name as I approached the front desk. Don’t know how he knew my name but that was a very nice touch :-) I loved this place in every way. I just wish I had time to do more of the fitness classes and yoga. The spa, steam room and sauna was a daily regime. And the outdoor pool was so nice and warm. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were fantastic! I’m home sick already. All staff were great and the spa team top notch. It was so great I extended my stay! I’ll be back.

What’s the location and facility staff at restaurant and check-in appeared to be very busy. Spa was amazing.

Excellent location close to Wrigley field. There is 2 pools one indoor and one outside. Basketball courts, tennis courts and weigt rooms. Very pleased with everything

At check in we were handed room keys and a piece of paper with all the amenities listed on it for the club. No information was provided for hours of anything or the guest policy etc. We were also never offered a tour/orientation or anything to the property and it’s a maze to find the locker rooms and where to go. How to lock lockers would have been nice. I felt like hotel guests are treated second-rate here to members. We were woken up every morning at 6 AM ish by loud banging (from the gym?) and our room basically shaking. The pillows were awful. Coffee was awful in the room. No room service available. The pool area was so crowded with people and kids all weekend you could barely find a chair. Front desk staff had to seek a manager for every question we asked. Basic questions. Also an elevator was broken the entire stay and being on the 5th floor meant waiting forever to get to/from the lobby. We won’t be staying here again. Maybe if you have kids it’s worth the price, but not for us.

Freezing in our room. Thermostat reads 62. Twice have asked it to be adjusted to 70 or 72. Nothing.

For the price I paid for one night and they don’t have makeup wipes they only had a make up towel. That was very disappointing.

We have stayed at the Midtown previously and access to the fitness facilities again was an amazing benefit for our family, especially in summer when the outdoor pool is available!

I love staying here. It does get a little bit pricey, but the club itself is amazing! The rooms are definitely getting a little tired. There was no coffee or coffee maker in my room, but the staff was quite prompt and getting it up to the room. I also wish the staff had been up-to-date on the actual lanes available for the outside pool for lab swim. I asked specifically if a lane was left open and I was told no. I would’ve easily gone down there to swim as it was open and quite clear from the general public until at least 10 AM. The variety of classes in the instructors are generally quite exceptional. Overall – I do enjoy staying here.
