It would help if they informed you of the restaurant being closed for renovation. Early birds should have a small coffee station set up in the lobby. Buffet is too katey

I like the place, pool is nice and warm enough. Very close to the beach. Beautiful beach and the service from the bar was good. We had live music every night and it was good to entertain the whole family. The room was okey, nothing special, it was silent because we were facing the street on the 6th floor. I’d stay again.

Had a great time at Shephards. Very nice staff, rooms, location and outdoor pool and bar/music area. The beds were super comfy and overall it was our favorite place to stay in Clearwater. I only have two “issues” or complaints that neither will deter a return visit but I wasn’t happy with. The first complaint is that you are forced to utilize a valet service for parking (added expense I was unaware of) and then they have this bracelet you are required to wear at check in that must stay on your entire stay (a removable type should be issued for you to wear when entering the pool/bar area). Aside from those two items we loved the live music and food daily. You never have to leave if you choose not to.

While the resort is geared toward adults, my two young kids had a great time. The pool was warm, the beach access was easy (along with the de-sanding after). Really appreciated the kitchenette. But the live music was the highlight - as an avid concert-goer, it really made the experience more fun and relaxing for me and my kids were tearing up the dance floor in the evening.

I loved the staff and their friendliness, helpfulness. Our room was very nice and very comfortable loved the pool area and the food. The drawback was the late night music. One night it kept us awake with the heavy base that we could hear.

Great property with live entertainment. Drinks in the bar area were pricey. An evening by the pool for two dinners, 2 beers and 2 drinks was just over $100 with tip. Nice pool, although it was too cool to swim. Ridiculously complicated remote control for the TV. Took us about 30 minutes to figure it out! A call to the front desk for help that never arrived. Towels were very rough and scratchy, but room was clean, recently remodeled, and had a nice kitchen set up. Front desk staff was very friendly during check in/out. Beach was not walkable at the hotel itself, but it is a short walk down to Pier 60, which is a beautiful park and walkable beach.

This property is like a hidden jewel. Private beach, excellent music, dining and wonderful, smiling people. It’s beautiful to watch the Dolphins swim by and take in the sunset. It was difficult to leave.

Excellent staff, service and all around great experience! A little further away from the downtown area, but that was nice and quiet for us.

Loved the private beach even tho was noisy bc of construction going on. Really enjoyed the tiki bar and live music was great.

When arriving into our room there was a beer cap on the rug, there was no nice view like it mentioned.

Very nice. Breakfast buffet was just average. Just a plain room no view boring. Over priced for what was on the buffet.

I did not like their breakfast room and the food everyday the same food nothing special suppose to be free with your booking

Nice beach and friendly staff. Gulf tower renovation underway which made finding the breakfast buffet difficult. Overall a good value though.

The best thing this resort has going for it is the STAFF, the location. We stayed in the Gulf tower which is undergoing construction. It was extremely noisy, the fire alarm went off 3 times, including 2am one morning, the flooring being installed and no direction where to go from out of the elevator, the banging of and emptying of dumpsters at 4:30am, the night club pumping until 2:30AM and inconsistancy of hours with the Tiki Bar by the pool The food at the Tiki Bar was excellent!!! But you never knew when they were to be open. There is music every day at the Tiki Bar on the beach and good music too with the same delicious food. No consistency at all. The Valet Staff, the Reception Staff are all wonderful and an example of customer service. Due to the construction and the noise, lack of safety precautions around the construction I feel was very poor.
