Mixed feelings about our stay. Firstly the lady on reception when we arrived was excellent and went out of her way to help us; she’s a credit to the hotel. In addition, we were allocated a nice room in a quiet area of the hotel exactly as we requested.
Unfortunately things went a little downhill when we arrived at the restaurant for our dinner reservation as the restaurant supervisor was away elsewhere and were ignored by all staff on duty for approximately 5 minutes (it seemed a lot longer). When we mentioned this to the supervisor when she finally appeared she didn’t take our lighthearted feedback well. She wasn’t rude but she made sure we knew she wasn’t happy we’d had the audacity to comment on being ignored. Sadly we found the food quite ordinary and very over priced. Although we had ordered two drinks soon after being shown to our table they didn’t actually arrive until we had nearly finished our main course and we’d not been served our food particularly quickly. At the end of the meal we requested our bill and again we experienced a delay of 20 minutes before, after asking again, the bill finally arrived.
On a more positive note breakfast was okay although we were surprised that a tray of dirty glasses was brought out for use with the selection of juices. The staff quickly replaced them when it was brought to their attention.
Would we recommend or stay here again? Probably not but if we did we would definitely avoid the restaurant for dinner.
