I can safely say Intercontinental is one of the best hotels in Dalian after having stayed in many Dalian hotels. For starters we got a room upgrade and early check in and late check out. The hotel also gave us complimentary coffee and fruit soon after checking in. The room was clean, comfortable, modern and had a gorgeous city view. The amenities were satisfactory and their Breakfast buffet had a wide range of Western and Chinese cuisine to choose from. Special thanks to Jason from the fitness centre and Winnie and Kevin from the front desk for their excellent service they especially made sure our stay was enjoyable. The only downside is that I think the Chinese restaurant staff could use some training the service there was the least professional but in my opinion it didn't takeaway from the overall experience.

I've stayed at this location multiple times. It is a good location and I enjoy the house band in the pub (located in the basement). The Kempeski is definitely showing its ago, however. The marblework in the bathroom is cracked and some of the flooring is stained. The public bathroom (to the right of the lobby) is in desperate need of a makeover, i.e. recaulk the edges of the lavatory and do a deep steam cleaning of all tile. Breakfast was superb and the wait staff was doing a great job turning tables around for the next customers. I would probably stay again, but only if the prices are reduced.

Hotel Nikko is a throwback to the 1990's. It is well maintained and very comfortable hotel. In fact, I moved from another 5 star hotel to this one mid weekend. The decor is a little dated, BUT of the 3 hotels in downtown Dalian that I have used over this last year I think Nikko is my favorite. Their service is excellent. The food is good. (Breakfast is great and the Japanese restaurant is good) The atmosphere of the hotel is very nice and upscale. I like that there is a Lawson's near the lobby, in the adjoining office/apartment building. When I called to request they lower the temperature in my room, they said they could not adjust the thermostat; however, they did offer me a fan. Within 5 minutes housekeeping brought a very nice standing fan which worked great. My next trip downtown I think I'll start with Hotel Nikko.

This hotel was in a great location as next to railway and metro station. Unfortunately the power was cut off for the entire block. It was fortunate that the hotel was able to refund part of the stay. I had to checkout when the power was cut off again the following night. This isn’t the fault of the hotel but they tried their best in a bad situation. When I checked in they brought tray of snacks and a letter explaining how they were sorry they could not speak English. This was a nice touch and I commend the front staff for their sincerity. The only reason I took off a star was that the hallway carpet was in an old state and could use an overhaul. Other than that great staff and hotel.

How can I put it this way? This old hotel is hard to describe. You said its location is good. It is indeed in the city center, close to the train station and railway tracks, but the small environment is really unsatisfactory. I stayed in a street view room, so I couldn't see the train or the sea, and I couldn't hear the noise of the train. You can call it old. It is true that the decoration style is very old. You can see its antique style through the elevator decoration, but the interior is indeed well maintained. It should have been very high-end back then, and the hotel management was good. The hotel's marketing is very good. The elevators were full in the mornings during my stay for a few days, and the office buildings were busy during the morning rush hour. It seemed that many companies were holding meetings here, conducting trainings, etc., so there were quite a lot of people staying. The airline also uses this place as a dormitory, and there are many stewardesses. The hotel service can only be described as so-so, not very enthusiastic, but still professional and meticulous. The furniture and facilities are relatively old and the hygiene is average. Breakfast was not booked, so I didn’t experience it.

In an apartment building (No. 8 Qingniwa), the 11th to 18th floors are the hotel area, which is very close to the train station, shopping malls, and subways. There is Lawson and snack street downstairs, and New Mart and Centennial City are across the road. Business travel self-service welcome afternoon tea: This service is not bad, with fruits, snacks and drinks. The breakfast is standard, and there is really nothing to eat when you go late. The room is quite spacious, and the TV is really speechless. It is embarrassing to call it Internet TV. There are four central channels in total, 1, 3, 5, and 6, and they are all snowflakes, which is better than nothing. The robot delivery is OK, there is wind in the room window, and it will be a bit cold without air conditioning. The bathroom is slightly cramped compared to the room. Except for the cafe on the 11th floor of the restaurant, it is really hard to tell that it is a relatively new serviced apartment in the room alone.

The environment of the hotel is very good, and there are many green plants in the lobby. There are no photos taken in the room, it is a standard room, the equipment and facilities are quite complete, and the sanitation is very clean. The location is very good, walking forward is Shanghai Road, Tianjin Street, and there is a snack street. Later, I found out that because I came to Dalian, I was entertained by friends. The food I ate in the hotel tasted good. (When I came to Dalian, I mostly ate seafood.) I will stay here again next time and experience the snack street.
