Royal Ariston Hotel

Dubrovnik|0.09km from La Castile Restaurant
This hotel is situated on the seaside with rooms with very beautiful views directly on the sea. The hotel is part of a huge complex, comprising several hotels and rentals of apartments with many small swimming pools and several restaurants. The rooms are large and comfortable without being able to claim a very luxury character. The hotel is very comfortable and the room was very clean and the bathroom was very clean and the bathroom was very clean and the bathroom was very clean and was very clean. The staff is friendly but probably insufficiently trained, so you are never accompanied to your table at the restaurant and men are served before women,. This lack of quality of service is seen in the breakfast, it is the worst place, a factory, a very large self-service where all guests from the hotels in the complex are all in promiscuity. There again, no one to accompany you at the table or take your order, you are to deal with and serve you in this huge self-catering cantine. Finally, the restaurants of the complex are lunch restaurants but they lack the quality of service, a little more developed map and a refined decor to pretend to welcome you to dinner as a 5-star hotel should be the The hotel is a very good hotel, and it is a good hotel. The top roof of one of the Royal complex hotels remains, however, sympathetic to drink a glass while watching the sunset. At the end this wonderful situation is a little disrupted by the lack of refinements in the hotel, the poor service and the breakfast plant.

Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik Hotel

Dubrovnik|0.24km from La Castile Restaurant
First impression as we drove up, the building is very large and not that attractive, however the gardens are attractive. A long review but I hope this gives visitors an accurate picture of what to expect. I arrived at the hotel at about noon but my room was not ready so I went to the bar area for lunch. Food in the hotel is quite expensive - at least the same as UK prices if not more, I had a Caesar salad and cold drink for about £20. My room was ready at just after 1. I chose this hotel as it was billed as four star. However they obviously did not spend time during lockdown on decorating and refreshing the rooms which were quite tired looking. I am not sure what makes it four star as there was not much to make this hotel stand out. One of the lifts down to the main restaurant was out of service and stuck on the 4th floor for my entire stay, with no apparent attempts to fix it. Plus points - the bed was large and comfortable; there was enough hanging space; it was reasonably clean; there was a kettle and mugs with tea, coffee and sugar, however no milk for tea was provided to guests, just sachets of coffee creamer. I did request milk and the tiniest of jugs was provided. The WiFi is good - which goes someway to making up for the lack of TV. Minus points - there is apparently no digital TV in Croatia, so the 12 channels that the TV in my room was tuned into were via aerial. There were three in English language - BBC World News, CNN and Bloomberg. There appeared to be entertainment channels in German and Italian so I am not sure why, in a hotel frequented by UK guests with TUI, Newmarket Holidays and Jet2, they cannot find any entertainment channels in English. The TV was not new enough to allow for screen mirroring / chrome casting so I watched my iPad when I wanted to watch anything, as the WiFi was good enough to allow for this. Many people visiting will be visiting with friends, but for some solo travellers a decent TV service is a must. While the bathroom was clean with a large shower (no bath) the water temperature in the shower varied between scalding and freezing without me touching the tap at all. Additionally the towels were threadbare and slightly grey looking. There was daily cleaning but the bed linen did not appear to have been changed during my stay at all, apart from the pillow cases. I had opted for half board and my first meal there was the buffet dinner. There are several stations but no one to explain what the options were. There were a lot of choices, pasta dishes, meats including chicken, daily roast, steaks, salads, cold fish/meats. But none of it was particularly tasty or appetising. Triumph of quantity over quality. A real criticism of the dinner service is that they will not serve you tap water - if you want to drink anything it has to be bought, including water. Our TUI tour rep had already mentioned that the tap water in Croatia is drinkable, so this decision by the hotel management is inexplicable and appears

Hotel Dubrovnik Palace

Amazing hotel. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Spectacular views from the balcony, especially the sunsets. Really clean and comfortable- lots of toiletries in the bathroom - you don’t need to bring anything. Great spa area n the top floor - theres also a hot tub and sunbeds on the roof - I don’t think anyone knows about this as we were the only ones there. Breakfast was lovely, if there’s nothing there for you - you must be super fussy. Plentiful, well cooked. We also ate in the taverna restaurant which was also very good. We had good weather so used the pool area, plenty of sunbeds. You can also swim in the sea here. Really convenient to explore Dubrovnik. There’s a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you to the old town every 20 minutes, very cheap too. Taxis come really quick from the hotel. Definitely have to walk the walls in old town. Cable car to the top with spectacular views. Old town is beautiful, lots of shops if that what you want to do. Didn’t have time to do any trips, but will definitely be coming back to do those. We walked a lot, exploring the local area so if you are into walking then you will be fine. We ate in the old town - a recommended restaurant Taj Mahal. Bosnian restaurant, delicious food (not cheap) but perfect for a special meal. Definitely recommend this hotel and the area. We had an amazing 3 nights - and wish we had booked longer.
Royal Neptun Hotel

Ok so this was my two year delayed honeymoon and I couldn't have been happier with the hotel. I found it to be exceptionally clean, the staff were helpful and friendly, the views were amazing and the food topnotch. We had Bed and breakfast booked, I found the breakfast to be incredibly generous in the options possible. I was so pleased to see a gluten-free section being the daughter of a coeliy, that showed how aware the hotel is of people's needs. One small criticism is how busy it was; in terms of a larger area is needed to accommodate everyone who is staying! The staff also need more help in clearing tables and re-laying them as most people want to be outside. We ate a few of the restaurants and now need to be on a diet at they were exceptional! A shout out to the housekeeper Marina on 7th floor as she is so brilliant and looked after our room and us. It seems not many by guests say hello to her, we always do to all staff and that seemed to make her very happy. All in all an amazing place, thank you Royal Neptun, thank you Dubrovnik and thank you Croatia for amazing times. Use Uber as brilliant and get on the tours as so worth learning about this incredible place.
Club Dubrovnik Sunny Hotel

5 star review for 3 star price aligned with 3 star expectations. Positives: Family oriented staff, very friendly and helpful team, walking distance to amenities, superb bus links, great views, variety of food (our 18 month old loved this), and nice demographic during our stay. Maro World is located 3 minutes from the hotel, included in the price, and has plenty of things to do for the kids. Special thanks to Ivana for being cheerful every meal time despite little one pulling faces at you! 😀 Other points: Sink was blocked but rectified immediately after speaking to reception, pool is fresh for the less brave and it would have been nice to have had a cot in the room.
Dubrovnik President Valamar Collection Hotel

Top hotel. From the appearance itself, the size of the room, the equipment of the room, the view, the balcony, the indoor and outdoor pool, the food, the price of food and drinks, the service from the reception, the maids, and on from all the hotel staff. Parking available outside and in the garage. The hotel is highly recommended to everyone and when we come back we will definitely stay here again.
Valamar Tirena Hotel
4.5/559 Reviews
The Tirena hotel is in a good location on the Lapad Peninsula only about 5 minutes from a stony beach and a couple of minutes from a bus stop that takes you into the city. We stayed for four nights which was the right length of time to see everything in Dubrovnik. The hotel itself was probably built in the 70s but the architecture was really interesting (in terms of the use of concrete, layout, and the connection between internal/external areas). Our room and balcony were spacious and the bathroom was modern. We had half board and found breakfast better than dinner. No drinks are offered at dinner which seemed a bit stingy. The service at reception and in the restaurant was friendly. The pool was great but the cocktails from the bar were overpriced and watered down, although this is normal for Dubrovnik- it was very pricy in comparison to other Mediterranean destinations, which is something to bear in mind (and made half board a good idea).
Royal Blue Hotel

It’s so over, the sea view is super beautiful, and you can watch the sunset at night. Although the dinner is a bit expensive, it is very delicious. In fact, it is more expensive than the ancient city, but the restaurant on the other side of the ancient city is not comparable to the taste here. There is a bus to the old town at the entrance of the hotel, which is very convenient.
