Clarion Hotel Conference Center on Lake Erie Reviews

The location was perfect however the hotel is outdated. There was a big stain on the carpet as soon as you opened the hotel room door. The room had a musky smell & the bathroom well it needs a major update.

We loved the upgraded room. Only thing we did not like was there is nothing in the shower to hold your soap or hand your washcloth

While the people were wonderful, the room was in poor shape — stains on the chair and bathtub, poor lighting in the bathroom, a toilet that just kept running, a super loud air conditioner/heater, and a faint yet distinct smell.

Pleasant stay, clean room, friendly staff. No microwave except in dining area off the lobby.

Was there to watch sons college hockey game and the hotel was so very accommodating to help parents spend time with the team. Excellent! Thank you so much!!

Very nice! Clean! Only 45 min to the Bills stadium. Great place at a good price if your going to a game.

The Clarion was good. Entrance foyer is very nice, bright, clean, welcoming. The bar and breakfast area is cute too. The rooms were ok. Nothing over the top, but there is clear evidence that the building is aging and could use a little TLC. The thermostat in our room stopped working the second night, so we needed a fan to keep air circulating. Staff was quick to respond and brought us a fan when requested. In all, it was a fine hotel, nothing terrible. However, to be honest, it was not worth the $200/night we paid. We would have had the same experience at a much cheaper hotel.

The front deck attendant was fine. I had one drink at the bar and the experience was ridiculous. There were several young staff working, having a loud conversation among themselves filled with F bombs while other guests and I sat there. Completely unprofessional. The hotel is very outdated. I will not return

When I'm in Dunkirk for more than a day to fish out of the marina, this is where I stay. It's clean, staff is friendly and courteous, and Steelbound is an added plus!!

Stayed for a fishing trip- had to be at dock 6am so didn't get breakfast - was very convenient and food was great. Totally forgot to leave a tip

Was told at the front deck on check in that I could not upgrade as the room was purchased through a 3rd party.

Hotel needs some remodeling. Rooms were clean (except for maybe the carpets) but outdated. Bed not so comfortable, for me anyway. Hotel staff was accommodating (found me a safety pin!) The bartender in restaurant could improve their customer service skills. Waited unusually long to get service as bartender was just chit chatting with other guests, oblivious to new guests that arrived. Also found it odd that bar and kitchen staff were helping themselves to alcohol. Wonder how much of restaurant’s profits are lost in this manner. On a positive note, ate at the restaurant twice and food was really good - no complaints.

The Clarion is where i stay when I'm in Dunkirk to fish Lake Erie. Great staff, rooms are clean and quiet, and Steelbound brews and food are great. I will be back!

The view from our room (#332) was beautiful! It looked out onto the lake. It was quiet the whole time we were there, & we felt safe. We have been there before, & will return again.
