The quaint nature of the hotel, set beneath the vineyards along a winding road through a well-tended wine village is certainly worth mentioning. We ate at the hotel's restaurant and ordered white wine from grapes whose vines were within sight, perhaps a couple hundred yards above? Only hesitation regarding the property? It's been very hot this week and without air conditioning, one must sleep with the windows open and/or decide whether the ambiant noise of the diners below or the loud whirr of the room's fan is going to be the most distracting. Bring earplugs and you should be just fine!

I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. We had an excellent view of the vineyards and castle too. The restaurant was excellent too - with friendly service and a wide choice of food.

Having visited Durbach before my 2 kids and I decided to have a 2 night stop at this Hotel... Check in very friendly and efficient.. Parking was easy.. Breakfast was simpler than some hotels but nevertheless good quality. The appartement we stayed in was comfortable and spacious.. Lovely views.. We ate a the restaurant one night.. Choice was huge but quality was high.. Prices a bit on the high side but the quantity and taste compensated for this.. Grear choice of local wine.. Lovely atmosphere... Plus point for the hotel is the central location in the village and being next to the lovely, local swimming pool (free entry with guest card)..... Overall I would recommend this hotel and Durbach as a base for hiking/biking or general tourist costs to the area..

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe dort. Buchungen und leider auch Änderungen, waren problemlos! Sehr netter Kontakt. Das Abendessen war für alle hervorragend! Wirklich spitze! Auch wenn es der Küche leider nicht gelungen ist, dass so ziemlich alle zeitgleich ihr essen bekommen hatten. Die ersten waren bereits fertig als die letzte (auf Nachfrage) ihr essen erhalten hat. Die Zimmer sind etwas älter, aber sauber und die Größe der Zimmer ist wirklich klasse! Nun zum Frühstück am nächsten Morgen... das läßt leider ein wenig zu wünschen übrig. Aber das ist ja auch Geschmacksache. Für EUR 21 p.P. ist es sehr überschaubar und für meinen Geschmack zu viele Lebensmittel nur in kleinen Plasikportionen erhältlich. Sehr schade! Das Abendessen hatte uns Vorfreude au das Frühstück gemacht - Erwartungen wurden leider nicht erfüllt. Kein Rührei oder sonstig warme Speisen.

Wir hatten ein Delux-Zimmer im 2. Stock direkt über dem Restaurant. Schönes helles Zimmer mit grosser Sitzecke. Riesiger TV. Gute und bequeme Betten. Badezimmer mit Fenster und Regendusche. Alles sehr freundlich, inkl. Kaffeemaschine. Die Kissen sind eine Katastrophe. Ganz ehrlich, kaum zu gebrauchen. Da dürfte man mal in neue Investieren. Das Früsthück war Ok. Extrem enttäuscht hat uns die Brotauswahl. Ein paar Brötchen und ein Stangenbrot. Da gäbe es viel besseres. Es hatte sonst alles in guten Qualität und genügender Auswahl. Das Abendessen haben wir auch dort eingenommen. Der Service der jungen Dame war sehr nett und freundlich. Das Essen war ausgezeichent und auch die Weinauswahl war sehr gut. Ein Punkt der uns aber etwas irritiert hat. Wir fragten, ob wir Leitungswasser haben dürften und nicht eine Flasche. Die junge Dame brachte uns 2 mal 2,5 dl. Danach so teilte sie uns mit, das der Chef ihr verboten hätte, uns noch mehr Leitungswasser zu bringen. Wir müssten eine Flasche nehmen. Leider muss man sagen, dass das Leitungswasser um Längen besser ist als das Flaschenwasser und die CO2 Bilanz ja wahrscheinlich auch. Wir haben der jungen Damen auch mitgeteilt, dass wir selbstverständlich was dafür bezahlen, und nicht erwarten, dass es gratis ist. Sie meinte dann, sie werde das dem Chef gegenüber mal ansprechen.
