Saint Francis Resort

Kendall, the Dockmaster was great at communicating with us. The “resort” is as advertised. The Snappy Turtle onsite was a pleasant surprise. We ended up eating at the bar so we could enjoy the fun banter with Sterling and Anais. They and the kind lady in the kitchen create a great atmosphere and serve good food!

Let me start by saying that I was traveling with my teenage daughter for a special mother/daughter trip. We were not looking for a fussy fancy all inclusive type place and if you are, this is not the place. What we got was a fantastically located, quiet, super clean, laid back little resort with the friendliest and most accommodating staff. We absolutely loved it here. The beach was absolutely gorgeous, soft sand and clear water and we found ourselves to be the only ppl there for miles most of the time! We felt like we had the island to ourselves!! You could walk for miles and run into two ppl only. On the marina side you can kayak or boat to different beaches, we kayaked over to a neighboring resort and had a blast in their beautiful beach and bar as well. The restaurant on site here had made to order eggs and a simple breakfast (included) and lunch/dinner wasn't extensive but ample and everything was good. The atmosphere and service was personable and fun. And our view for each meal….amazing. They even made me a special conch dish just for me bc I wanted to try it but have some sensitivities! The beds were super comfortable and rooms were super clean and cleaned every day and stocked with bottled water and coffee each day. I believe they are in the midst of revamping the place as maybe they had some management changes? My daughter said that she felt it got better as a whole each day. If you are used to the 5 star resort with all the fancy trimmings and amenities, this place is not for you. But if you want a laid back, super chill, super friendly (with almost family feel) but still great quality accommodations, service, and LOCATION. This place is for you. We would return in a heartbeat. It holds a special place in our hearts!

We had a great time at Saint Francis on Stocking Island. We were truly treated like great friends and family. The food and drinks were amazing! Along with stunning views. From our room we could see both the Atlantic Ocean and the bay. Thank you Shay, Anais, and Sterling for an incredible time! We hope to see you all again soon.

Beautiful place !! Juste perfect to rest and enjoy shallow turquoise water and fine sand. Welcoming and friendly staff, had good time there. Juste a little bit too expensive from our point of view … Thank you for this unforgettable week !

I stayed at St Francis Resort with my two teens. We were in need of relaxation after a few stressful months, arrived exhausted, and left happy and rejuvenated. We loved the comfortable and clean room and the spectacular view of the ocean and the sound of the waves. The staff were so lovely, warm and attentive, and making sure we had everything we needed. We ate most of our meals at the restaurant on site and they were all delicious. I had fresh fish for dinner every night - in and of itself such a treat, and served with perfectly tender vegetables. A special shout out to the boat captain who was super responsive with helping us with rides and also helped us with local advice and answering questions.

We spent 4 fabulous nights at the St. Francis Resort. Richard and Julia, the new managers, were fantastic and always made sure we had everything we needed. Mari, our server, took great care of us and our meals at the Snappy Turtle were delicious. The views from both the Atlantic and Elizabeth Harbour sides of Stocking Island are incredible! It was a quick kayak trip to the famous Chat N Chill. We also enjoyed great lunches and the fabulous beach at the Peace & Plenty Beach Club, which is a pleasant 20 minute hike or a quick boat trip. Chacho, the boat driver, took us to Starfish Beach, home of Da Sand Bar, where we enjoyed several hours at yet another gorgeous beach. As described on the website, the rooms are basic but very comfortable with stunning views of the Atlantic. Always remember you’re in the Bahamas and on Island time, so just relax and enjoy the breathtaking views if things are taking a little longer than normal. It’s a unique experience with no roads, no cars and no stress - only the indescribable shades of blue from the water! You will not regret staying at the St. Francis Resort!

Quiet with amazing views! The managers went out of their way to accommodate and arrange anything we needed! The location was great for exploring and hiking around the island! The food was great as well! We will be back!

We stayed in a houseboat here at Saint Francis and loved the experience. The beach was incredible; we were the only ones on this gorgeous stretch of white sand overlooking beautiful hues of blue. Definitely more of a laid back, rustic type stay but perfect for disconnecting. Staff was super friendly and Coach’s was happy to take you back and forth in the skiff.

Great time staying here. Deserted, beautiful beach and nice views of the marina. Food was delicious at the restaurant. We stayed in the "round house" and the room was clean and very well maintained. The helpful and friendly staff also made the stay enjoyable.
