Newmarket

Such a lovely hotel. Sandra and Amanda were amazing, they were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The Premier Plus rooms are definitely worth the extra cost. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfy. Will be staying here again when in Newmarket!

The reception staff are extremely helpful - nothing seems to much trouble. At breakfast, Dermott tirelessly guides guests through the menu choices and provides attentive service. Service like this is just great when away from home - makes you feel looked after and comfortable.

Great stay with three rooms for the family. Great service, helped us check in, clean rooms with good facilities. The highlight was the breakfast, large room, good range and wonderful service, willing to accomodate our breakfast choices, and great value.

Check in was speedy. Location was fine as we were due to meet family in the area the next day. Room 118 was a corner room with a balcony that had no access to. Meant little privacy in both sets of windows of the room (one to the left was some sort of office block that could see straight through the room, the patio looked directly across to the cars and traffic and Waitrose). Chocolate wrappers under the bed on arrival. Generally dated hotel and did not feel clean (dust gathered in the corners of the room). Noisy due to facing the Main Street. Temperature in the room was hard to navigate and made dripping sounds. Car park situation was not ideal as you park in the Guineas car park and limited number of available free bays for hotel guests. Luckily we were out for dinner otherwise would have had to pay to park whilst we checked in. It did mean that overnight, as the limited bays weren’t available, we had to park in the non-secured car park. Youths hanging around in the car park throwing bottles. Had to move the car early in the morning to avoid being charged/wait for other guests to check out. Single slices of toilet paper being dispensed in the rooms also a questionable choice.

Took more than half an hour to check in as there was no-one at reception. We was ringing the bell and even considered picking up the Wally talky left on the side just to get someone to come and serve us. This was 7pm in the evening

The location of the hotel was perfect for us and there was a car park, with designated parking spaces just across the road for hotel guests. The staff at check in were very helpful. We stayed for two nights and had breakfast at the hotel. Plenty of choice for both continental and cooked breakfast but the cooked breakfast was not really to my liking.

Although I had specified two beds in the room we were told there was only a double available. We were tired after our journey and it was pouring with rain and we were told we couldn’t have a refund straight away. I started to phone another hotel but the lovely Amanda said she would see what she could do and eventually came back to say she had put an extra bed up for us. The room was clean and comfortable but really surprised that there are no grab rails in the bathroom and the shower hose doesn’t detach. Just had the continental breakfast but there was loads of choice including crumpets and unlimited coffee. A huge thank you to Amanda and Sandra for being so sympathetic and helpful. Although there are allocated parking spaces in the car park opposite there is nothing to stop anyone parking there so you’re lucky if you get a space.

We have never stayed at the hotel so cannot rate this experience, however we quite often stop for breakfast on our way through Newmarket. Dermot is always extremely cheery and accommodating. Whilst chatting to Dermot about our experiences living in London and me working as a bus driver years ago, he put a smile on our faces! He is a credit to your company for his approachability and attentiveness. The breakfast as ever was fabulous. Keep up the good work and see you soon...

Very nice breakfast service! Dermot is the dude very polite and good breakfast Evening meal and service not so great, rooms are very clean and well kept We have stayed here now for a few months and must say the breakfast is the best part All round good stay
