The service at Mezzatorre is definitely 5-Star, with attentive and friendly staff around every corner. From the restaurant to the front desk to the cleaning staff, everyone at Hotel Mezzatorre contributed to our phenomenal stay. When my husband and I became sick due to food poisoning (not attributable to the hotel), they checked in multiple times, brought us medicine, and even gave us a small discount on our room service bill given we couldn’t leave our rooms. Thank you to all the staff! I have a few issues with the hotel, the first being the accommodations in the cottages. Having stayed in 5-Star accommodations in the past, I can confidently say the cottages do not meet that bar. They are older structures, they have a bit of a bug issues (though the grounds of the hotel are quite woodsy), and are very far from the amenities of the hotel such as the restaurants and pool. In addition, we were placed in a room that faced a cleaning station, which meant the staff was walking by our room many times a day. While the staff were friendly, it wasn’t ideal. In addition, there were multiple areas of the hotel that felt unfinished, such as a tarp over the roof of the pool restaurant or the area where the staff took breaks. I personally think these could be cleaned up more considering the price of the stay. I definitely recommend requesting a room in the watch tower. I also recommend finding other accommodations if you have accessibility issues as I don’t believe the grounds are suitable for wheelchair access.
