This hotel is simply amazing, from the welcome upon arrival, the luxurious rooms, to the immaculate grounds and pool. Breakfast in the garden was outstanding. The service provided by everyone was excellent but special mention must go to Maurice who was friendly and very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. KG also stood out for her service and friendly welcome. Hope to visit again some day.

Stayed for four nights. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, all the staff treated us like royalty. Stand out performers were, Gift, KG & Marius. We don’t often mention individuals but these three deserve to be mentioned. Marius even fixed my wife’s sunglasses. Rooms are spacious, the gardens are standout & the whole place is peace & tranquility. Ideally located and at the quiet end of the Main Street. They even cleaned our hire car ready for our departure. Can’t recommend Leeu House enough.

Leeu House was the second stop on our honeymoon and truly the highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, welcoming us with a cold glass of South African fizz. Our room was lovely, with a beautiful bathroom and an incredibly comfortable bed. We chose one of the more basic rooms since we had lots planned, but it still exceeded our expectations. One particularly thoughtful touch was finding a printed itinerary on our pillow, complete with the next day’s weather forecast, such a lovely detail. The pool area was stunning, comfy loungers, complimentary sun cream, and staff always available for drinks. The cocktails were delicious and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was great. The buffet was small but had everything we needed, and the menu items, especially the French toast, were delicious. We ordered room service after a long day on the wine tram, which was great and well priced. The location is excellent, right on the main street and close to restaurants, the wine tram, and the Saturday market. There is constant security around the property so we felt safe even at night. We were glad we chose Leeu House over the estates for sheer convenience. Another incredibly helpful feature is the hotel’s car service. Again, reasonably priced, we used it several times including our way back to the airport. All the drivers were professional and friendly. A real highlight was the picnic we booked at Leeu Estates. We considered other wine estates but chose Leeu, and we are so glad we did! The setting, the views, and the wonderful service from Bruce made it unforgettable. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone staying at Leeu. We did the complimentary wine tasting at Le Quartier Français, which was nice, although we wish we had had time to visit the estates for it instead. Overall, an excellent stay. Each and every member of staff helped make Leeu House feel so special. We could not recommend it more, especially for a honeymoon.

What a beautiful hotel! From the moment we were greeted at the gates, to the moment we left, we were really well looked after. The hotel is stunning in beautiful grounds which are so well looked after. It was great to have a short stroll into Franschoek to enjoy lovely bars and restaurants. We would definitely love to return.

My husband and I stayed for four nights and have decided we will never stay anywhere else in Franschhoek. There is not a single thing we would have changed about our stay. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful — they truly make this such a special place. Marius was wonderful and thought of everything! Honest made breakfast special for us every single morning. The location is perfect, the rooms are beautiful and spacious, and the linens are unbelievably soft. We have just booked our stay for this December!

Spent 3 nights at Leeu House as part of our travels along the Garden Route. It's a stunning property in a great spot - the quieter end of Franschhoek. The pool area is gorgeous with sun creams provided which was a lovely touch. The staff were all exceptional and we were made to feel very welcome. There isn't a gym on site but you can use the extensive facilities at the Leeu Estate, 5 minutes up the road (and equally stunning). We loved it here and will definitely be back.

Charming small hotel with beautiful gardens, pool and amazing food & service. My husband & I stayed for 5 nights & explored the local area each day. Unfortunately, there is construction work next to the hotel which made it very noisy when trying to relax by the pool. We stayed in Room 8 which overlooked the whole of the construction site with workers arriving at 8am & leaving at 5pm. The hotel was fully booked so we were unable to move to another room. We loved the hotel and the local area but staying in Room 8 with the construction work totally spoilt what should have been a relaxing stay. We did speak to staff about the noise & view from our room who were apologetic but said it was out of their control.

Everything about this hotel is 5 star, only 13 rooms and adults only. Location, facilities accommodation and excellent staff. I cannot individually name members of staff as they are all exceptional, from house keeping, reception, restaurant, bar lounge/ pool staff , porters, security, chauffeurs and management. Turn up with just your clothes as everything else is catered for and supplied including Nivea sun cream of various factors. Would highly recommend a visit and look forward to my return visit.

Our stay at the hotel was absolutely wonderful! The staff were incredibly attentive and kind, making us feel welcome from the first moment. The garden and pool area were beautiful and peaceful, and we really appreciated the thoughtful poolside service with drinks, towels, and even sunscreen (thanks to Marius!!). The breakfast was outstanding — a perfect start to each day. One evening, we had some friends visiting, and we spent time on the terrace in front of our room. To our surprise, the service team, in person Honest (thanks again, we’ll never forget it!), provided us with drinks and snacks right there, just like having a private butler. That level of hospitality truly impressed us and our friends. In short, it was a perfect stay, and we will definitely come back!

This is a charming hotel with a small number of rooms which are very comfortable and spacious. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room and we had a fruit bowl on arrival. Breakfast was included which was always good. The staff were very charming and helpful. The hotel were able to recommend various nearby restaurants.

I had a fantastic week in Franschhoek and Leeu House was an ideal base from which to experience it. Located in a perfect spot on the main drag (Huguenot Road), the main building is a little set back from the street behind an immaculately kept garden featuring sculptures, and is discreetly supervised by a security team at all times. No need to worry though as Franschhoek felt very safe and I happily went by foot to any locations within a 15-minute walking distance, even late at night, with no problems at all. The hotel is tastefully decorated and comfortable, with a lovely pool area. The only small minor points are that the pool is not heated and is a little fresh at some times of day; and that the indoor lounge/bar area lacked ambience and was not well used, which seemed a pity to me. There is also currently some construction work going on next door which could occasionally be intrusive to the pool area, but this was intermittent. The breakfast is excellent, particularly the cooked options which are delicious and generous in size and scope, with customisation embraced readily by the team. I was fortunate enough to be staying in the Suite, which has its own terrace where I took my breakfast every day in the morning sun with delightful views. A special shout-out here to Gift, who served me most mornings with warmth, professionalism and humour. I should also mention his teammates Jason and Honest, who were also excellent and made my stay feel very intimate and high-end. The team in general was extremely obliging and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. Typical of this was Marius, who was frequently checking that things were just right with everything from the log burner in my room to the situation of my sun lounger. Again, this kind of attention to detail made the experience feel very special; but understated and discreet. I would thoroughly recommend Leeu House for anyone looking to explore the wonderful town of Franschhoek and the surrounding area from the convenience of a central location. I hope to return one day.

Leeu House is perfect and ideally located in the heart of Franschhoek. The rooms are stunning and the garden and restaurant are delightful. The staff are unbelievably efficient, kind and helpful and are always happy to assist with anything you need and to give advice. And if you have the fortune to come across Honest you will want for nothing! He is utterly charming and will make sure your stay with them is everything you could wish for. Other than wine tastings which the reception staff will happily arrange for you, we would strongly recommend arranging a tour with Crisben who runs the Huguenot Museum (3 minutes walk away). He is full of the history and culture of the region and is a wonderful reconteur. We will be coming back to Franschhoek and will definitely stay at Leeu House.
