Arrived at 4:30pm, fir a 4:00pm Check-In-and had to wait till 5:30 for a room, because the cleaning staff had gotten behind.
The room we did get had a door that stuck, making it hard to get in and out of the room.
When I told the manager at check-out, he asked why I didn’t tell them about the door sooner, I said, “you didn’t have any other rooms when I checked in and I didn’t want to spend my birthday weekend with you banging on the door at who knows what hour, to fix it. I came here to relax.”
The restaurant wrote “Happy Anniversary” on my plate instead of adding a birthday candle as my husband had asked.
And on and on…
For a “luxury” hotel it felt like they just, after over 100 years in operation, didn’t have it together.
I did get a few ‘considerations’ from the hotel, but I would have preferred the great service I thought I was going to get by staying here.
