This hotel has a lot of potential, the room I stayed upon closer look was filthy, with spider cobwebs, it was so dusty that I had allergic reaction, the entire room including the bathroom was brown maybe to hide dirt and it was, Also the staff do not smile, the lady that checked us was worse, not even friendly at all, she did mention her English was bad but that’s not an excuse. The food was ok, it’s your normal buffet style, what I liked was generally it was hot and there was a microwave if you wanted to heat up your food..Also for a five star no bathrobe or slippers in the room, That being said the facilities are enough to have a good stay, the pool, the beach transfer, the spa, we managed to enjoy our stay despite all and it was nice for them to decorate the room for us

This hotel is far from 5*, the ‘all inclusive’ food options were substandard. Around 3-4 choices in a restaurant that had 0 atmosphere and felt more like a canteen. After the 2nd night of struggling to make a meal with the options available and having to find food elsewhere (which defeats the object of paying for 5* All Inclusive) we complained to the manager who provided us with a wrist band to the neighbouring and sister hotel Palm Village whose food options and dining facilities were some what better, however nowhere near 5* standard. The hotel is also full of children who are under your feet when trying to plate up food, the entertainment is also embarrassing. I have seen better at Butlins. Please don’t waste your money and stay here. We have stayed in 4* hotels what would run rings around this place. We won’t be returning.

I had an absolutely wonderful family stay at the beautiful Nau Salgados Palace hotel. The staff was incredibly pleasant and accommodating throughout our visit. In particular, Joanna at the reception stood out with her exceptional professionalism and attention to detail. Her warm demeanor and efficient service made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel's ambiance, amenities, and the level of hospitality exceeded our expectations. We're already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for providing such a memorable experience!

A Family hotel is a lovely place but definitely didn’t meet my expectations and were not up to the standards you would expect from a five-star hotel. This hotel has room for improvement in terms of the quality service and condition of the rooms. Beautiful Spa but it needs lots of more attention.

Amazing golf trip for 8 lads. Salgados and Alamos courses both great. Hotel food was great and rooms very spacious. Only downside was the air con was not great. Otherwise fantastic trip. View from balcony was amazing overlooking the golf course.

Our stay at Nau Salgados Palace was absolutely incredible! The food was a highlight - fantastic every single day! The staff went above and beyond, ensuring we had everything we needed. Can't wait to come back for more!

First would like to start from a positive side : The hotel grounds it look amazing well kept very tidy.. Swimming pools was great you always can find a place for sits... Rooms clean and tidy good for families ... On negative side: Hotel definitely not worth 5 starts food was terrible only 7 hot dishes people no manners on top of you with a plates no dress code , even no simple food for kids like chicken nuggets or sausages.. Stuff was ignored we wanted to play quiz with family and we were told no places came back next week child was very upset nearly was crying priority was all for Portuguese people... Barmens rude always was saying "what" like thank you or welcome they don't know this words... In not first our 5 start hotel were we staying, but it the purest one .. We noticed Portuguese people caming first before ourselves... Thank you .

We stayed for our 11th visit since opening in 2011 as a family of 4 with 2 young girls in a 2 room 2 bathroom suite with large balcony. We always visit for special occassions only and they cater for this easily. We are NAU loyalty Premium & Diamond members. Checkout the salgadospalace com website, particularly all inclusive summer pdf brochure and entertainment programme under kids club tab and annimation icon for kids club, adults entertainment and live music live schedules. Join the nau moments loyalty club too, free 5* : Staff (yes 5*) Secure Kids Club Cleanliness Grounds Suites (well worth upgrade payment) 19th hole A La Carte freshly cooked Lunch (and 5*staff and chefs). Excellent :) Lobby Bar Drinks and service Facilities (e.g. Hairdressor only €12 ) Spa - Extensive and only €10 Entertainment programme and activities Free train to beach 4*+ : Moonlight A La Carte dinner Pools 19th hole Snack 4-6pm - great food lots of choice, fresh, incl. (We never had buffet lunch). Conference centre 4* : Breakfast buffet Suggestions: 1. Open the Moonlight Bar, it was Closed even on moonlight dinner nights. We had to go to Lobby bar for a pre meal drink. 2. Dedicated Moonlight: Maitre'D & combined wine water missing (i.e. 1 staff member), need to reinstate please, 3 staff cannot cope. 2. Table cloths. Important. For 19th hole lunch would be perfect. Really advise on this. Please. What was the best? 1. The friendly, professional and trained dedicated core NAU staff 2. Kids Club and extravagent free family day and activities put on 1 June. 3. The suite! Thank you. x

Excellent hotel and had a brilliant time as a family of four. Food was top quality, fresh, and lots of variety each day. Excellent drinks selection. Whilst not a great deal to do for older kids (8-12) we meet some lovely families with kids similar age. Excellent choice if you are looking to chill.

Rooms are lovely clean and modern, staff very helpful ,we were locked out of our room 5 times in the first two days which Is not good when you have 2 3yr olds to drag up and down 4 flights , food very poor always cold childs buffet well 1 choice per day if that ,kids loved the pirate ship pool but kids club rubbish , and nighttime entertainment a singer every night with no get up and go apart from 1 night a female singer was really good , our flight home got cancelled and had to stay till the next morning asked if we could stay an extra night but wanted to charge us 481 euros so we had to change hotel the last day to bayside which is the next hotel down for 66 euros , hotel out of the way of everything train to the beach is very good but to get to the old town it costs 16euros each way

We just spent 4 days here Rooms 5* Staff 5* Cleanliness 5* Food -1^ We went at various times a day 7am when restaurant opened etc food was always stone cold for a hotel like this it was so disappointing and we paid a lot of money for this break like so many other people have I have travelled all over the world and this one has been the worst even the chips were cold I would definitely not return

Firstly i would like to start off with how poor the customer service at salgados palace is. In the main dining area there is staff stood everywhere doing nothing and will not offer a drink, when we asked for a drink we were shown where to go and get them ourself. The staff are really not interested in the customers who have paid to stay in this hotel which is very poor to say its classed as 5 stars. The main pool bar is the only bar in the hotel during the day to get a drink whilst at the pool, resulting in huge ques and very long wait times. No snack bar until 4-6 pm so you must use the main dining restraunt if you want to eat during the day. Pools are very dirty, especially the kids pool with the slides. Night time entertainment was non existent and very poor for younger children. Very dissapointed and i think the staff here need some coaching in customer service and hard work.

We came back to Salgados but as I said in my previous review, it is not a 5* hotel. The positives: good food, congratulations to the Chef! The staff is also nice, the shower in the room is very appropriate for the kids The negatives: some investments needs to be done in the pool area, in the rooms( change dirty carpets), the animation in the evening and during the day- very weak.

With regards to the hotel Salgados Palace. I would like to know how Jet2 rates this hotel as 5 star. My stay was far from a 5 star. I would like to bring the following points 1. Miserable check in staff. Reluctant to give information to guests especially English speaking clients. 2. Bar staff and restaurant staff made you feel like it was an inconvenience to help you. Always sighing if you asked for drinks. especially at the pool bar. Maybe this is because the cocktails are so disgusting that they felt embarrassed serving them. 3. you were never made to feel welcome or in a lot of the staff's cases even acknowledged you, in the restaurant staff just looked at you vacant. 4.Every day the hot food was cold it didn't matter which dish you chose, it was always cold. On some occasions I used the microwave which was for heating the baby food up so I could warm my meal. As this is the only restaurant you can use as you are only allowed to eat at the poolside bar once a week which you have to book in advance, making it very impracticable when you have a child removing them from the pool area to change and then attend the main restaurant. 5. We requested a packed lunch as we were out of the hotel on a trip. We were told that they did not cater for them, I was extremely surprised as every hotel that I have ever stayed in, in Portugal over the last 15 years of traveling have always accommodated this request. 6.Hotel room had a toilet separate from any hand washing facilities. you had to leave the toilet and walk round to the sink, this is totally unhygienic in my opinion. 7. 4 coat hangers for a group of 3 people, we had to live out of our suitcases for a week as the storage was limited. 8. Taxis requested via the hotel were on some occasions nearly three times the cost of requesting them yourself. 9.Childrens entertainment didn't start until 9pm or later 10. The entertainment in the lobby bar was horrendous, No Air con on when we asked the staff why it was so hot they didn't know? 11. Singers were so bad that even the Portuguese were just watching the sports on the TV which were constantly on the sports channel. 12. Moonlight restaurant and bar area. overrun with children running everywhere. Not what you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. 13. The children's pool area with a slide in. The water was a milky white colour and you could not see the bottom of the pool, possibly due to the mud surrounding the area. 14.The hotel states no inflatables in the pool, however there were always inflatables in the pool. 15. On check out the staff didn't even ask how my stay had been. Salgados palace needs to have it ratings review, we holidayed with Jet2 in April 2023 to 3HB Clube Humbria which is quoted as 4 star at this hotel the quality of the food was far superior and always hot.The hospitality was second to none given by the staff and all the facilities far exceed what was on offer at the salgados palace.
