Very good, good service

I was very satisfied with the double bed for the first time, but this time the single bed was shocked. The toilet is half as big as last time. The soundproofing is also poor, and it doesn't feel like the same hotel as before. Maybe the top floor hasn't been renovated yet. This time the room doesn't deserve 800 RMB at all

First I would like to say that my stay at the Lord Nelson in Halifax was not a great experience for me, I was not aware that their restaurant was not operational due to renovations therefore we had to leave the hotel in freezing weather to get breakfast, no coffee or any other refreshments to be found unless you want to face the cold weather, we also found the staff to be very unprofessional and unapproachable. It should be noted that I have stayed at the hotel several times throughout the years and i am very disappointed to say that this hotel seriously in need of new management. We left this hotel and booked into the Sutton Hotel for approximately the same price and our stay was 10 out of 10 Tks

Friendly, helpful staff. Quiet and comfortable beds with top quality linens. Spotlessly clean. Perfect stay.

Older building, but still classy. Beautiful period millwork. Front desk staff were lovely, and were graceful under pressure of a power outage out of their control.

Check in was very easy & staff at the front desk were great. Although the restaurant was closed for upgrades they waived our parking fee. Lots of restaurants within walking distance so it wasn’t a big deal.

The staff are amazing and make this beautiful old Victorian hotel just such a lovely place to stay.

Classic hotel in the heart of Halifax. Just steps to the Public Gardens and Spring Garden Road. Very accommodating and friendly staff!

The doorman on saturday night was great. Helped me several times. Was pleasant and helpful with directions and instructions.

Staff was not engaging or friendly. Was not even acknowledged on arrival. When I asked questions I got short non helpful answers. One employee was scrolling Facebook while checking me out. Hotel looked to be run down especially elevators. Room was clean and well kept but lack of plug ins. I had to move furniture to plug in my lap top. Beds were comfortable. Would not recommend for the price point.

The information on laundry and dry cleaning needs to be updated. I was informed by the front desk that dry cleaning would take 48 hours and that the wash service was do it yourself. The restaurant was under renovation until march 2024. It would have been thoughtful to stock the mini fridge in the room but there seems to be a gap in customers’ expectations and the amount of inconvenience the hotel thinks the customers will put up with .

Reception requested 200 grants for deposit after they told me 100 was enough but the next day they charged me another 100 bucks without any notice. After 10 days they send my money back. It does not satisfy me because I'm first time traveler in this hotel and to chase my money back I tried several called to them until they sent my money back

Restaurants were closed for refurbishing which was very inconvenient without any notice

The bathroom was freezing and the heater wouldnt work. The bedroom took a long time to heat up. The hotel is very dated and the elevators stopped at each floor with a sudden boom. We did get a box of chocolates which was very nice.
