We’ve recently experienced our first stay at the Creta Blue Hotel. What a lovely find, we really enjoyed our week. We had room 106 at the top of the hotel and not for the faint-hearted, as it was a steep climb over 100 steps cut into the hillside. BUT, it was worth it as the view was delightful and the room spacious and very comfortable. We had half board and the food was excellent, with breakfast you had a choice to select including, eggs, yoghurt, fruit, bread etc., and the evening meal and daily specials were generally of large portions and delicious. The pool was a bit too chilly, but there was ample comfortable seating to be found. You could easily walk into the village where you could find a plethora of tavernas to choose from if you were on B&B. The staff were second to none, everyone was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, especially with the excellent Cretan wines.

We stayed on our Honeymoon in the Luxury Pool Suite and were blown away from arriving to sadly leaving after 8 glorious nights. The friendly welcome from George upon our arrival, to all the staff throughout our stay was exceptional 🫶🏻 Our room was most definitely luxurious and having a shared private pool out of our patio was fantastic. We dined a couple of nights in the restaurant, where both Breakfast in the morning (8-11am) and evening meal were healthy & tasty to match. The daily specials are well worth trying, though you need to reserve them. The views are stunning from the main pool area & restaurant, and the ambiance lighting at night was beautiful. The local village is only a stones throw away and some lovely bars worth a visit there too. All in all it was a 5🌟 stay and will definitely be returning in 2025 for our anniversary.

Having just returned from a wonderful holiday we thought we should write a review to convey our experience. Having travelled extensively throughout the world we rarely give 5* but Creta Blue is exceptional. Accommodation is immaculately clean and we particularly appreciated daily maid service as well as the large bathroom and excellent shower. The restaurant serves delicious authentic dishes including vegetarian options. Staff go beyond the call of duty, nothing is too much bother, they are so friendly whilst professional and super efficient. We will definitely be back. Thank you Creta Blue x

Probably the best boutique hotel in Crete. Family owned, each time we holiday here there is some sort of improvement in the rooms, pool area or the resturaunt. George and his family never rest on their laurels and really know how to look after us. The staff are all fantastic which is part of the reason we return year after year. If you want a relaxed time with good food and excellent views look no further.

What can I say about this jewel… Absolutely stunning location… From our arrival nothing was to much trouble for any members of the staff.. George-Lavinia-Costas-Eva-Sofia-Antonio and not forgetting Gladisia.. The rooms are beautifully furnished, with a very comfortable bed…Good quality pressure in the shower and a simply stunning view.. The breakfast is a shared experience which is lovely.. freash eggs ham cheese breads jam and simply mouth watering yoghurt and honey.. The food is cooked with passion which is what good is all about.. So I would just like to say a huge thanks to everyone at the Creta Blue for a wonderful stay.. We will be back next year in June..

We thoroughly enjoyed our 1 week+ stay at Creta Blue. It really does offer exceptional value compared to other resorts and countries. Our room was the most basic they offer however was split over two floors and had ample space. Bed was a king size and extremely comfortable. Everything was immaculate and all the staff were very welcoming. We heard some noise coming through from the room next door in the bathroom area early mornings but did not disturb our sleep at night. The price included breakfast every day which was epic, cooked fresh and included pancakes, croissants, eggs, cheese, Greek yoghurt and much much more! One of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had full stop which was a steal at that price! Pool area was the star of the show, epic views down to the sea and high quality loungers/pool beds etc. The hotel restaurant shares the same view. One downside for us was that two families with young babies checked in towards the end of our stay that were quite disruptive (eg at breakfast and dinner), however clearly that is not the fault of the hotel. It is such a peaceful location, crying out to be ‘adults only’. There is a bit of steep hill up to some of the rooms which is worth noting for those less able bodied. Look forward to returning again soon.
Response from Property: Dear Valued Guest, First of all let me personally thank you for both choosing our hotel for your spring holidays as well as taking sometime to write about your experience. We are all extremely happy to know that you had such a marvellous time in our hotel and that you have enjoyed almost every aspect of your stay in our hotel. We hope that we will see you in the future whenever you choose to visit our beatiful village and island.

An extremely well run hotel, where the staff cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable. Lavinia, Eva and Sofia made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, with first class hospitality combined with a cheerfulness and a willingness to make everything perfect. But the other members of the team worked hard too. Our room was spotlessly clean and all communications from George prior to our arrival were prompt and courteous. The only tiny, small thing is I would say is that the fridge in the room was a little noisey, but that doesn't detract from a five star-plus rating.

In a lively setting in Hersonissos next to lots of lovely shops and restaurants. The food at the hotel was excellent, wonderful breakfast buffet on a hill overlooking the sea!

We spent a week at Creta Blu for our first holiday together and coincidentally our anniversary. The hotel is beautiful, in a fantastic location on top of a hill so it has stunning views over the town and out to sea. The staff at the hotel were nice. We have to give a special mention to Eva and Sofia in particular who were friendly and accommodating and nothing was ever too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was the same every day and there was coffee, teas, juices and water on offer, and then yoghurt, honey, bread, mini croissants, pancakes, eggs, fruit, cucumber, tomatoes and olives. Eggs rotated daily between fried, scrambled and omelette. We asked for a couple of extras on a few occasions which didn't seem to be a problem. We had a couple of lunches in the hotel restaurant which were of good quality, but what really stood out was the evening menu. We had the shrimp pasta and tuna steak and the tuna steak was the best I've ever had. It was more on the expensive side but we didn't begrudge spending the money as it was absolutely delicious. The pool area was great and has loads of sunbeds and some bigger chairs that we liked to refer to as "nests", and it was very peaceful for the most part. We didn't know what to expect from the town but we were pleasantly surprised. There are so many lovely tavernas and restaurants, cosy bars and interesting shops and everyone was so friendly. Everywhere we ate in town was of very high quality and very reasonably priced that we'd come back to Koutouloufari again in a heartbeat. We ventured down to the beach one day and spent about 15 minutes walking the boardwalk but swiftly turned back as it wasn't for us. Overall our week at Creta Blu was really lovely. However the reason we have only given 4 stars is because we had booked a grand suite with sea views and on our first night we were checked into the wrong room. Since we arrived at 23:30 there was no-one we could speak to about this until morning so our first night was spent in a room we hadn't booked or wanted. The problem was rectified the next morning with a member of staff called Lavinia but my partner had text George letting him know that it was a bad start to our holiday and he read the message and didn't reply. My partner had booked directly with the hotel and had conversed back and forth with George for weeks and not once did he come and introduce himself to her nor did he apologise for their mistake or even acknowledge it which we thought was peculiar and it did, unfortunately, leave a sour taste in our mouth for the remainder of our stay. Our flight home was very late so we didn't need to leave the hotel until 9pm and George did let us use the room for our entire last day, which we appreciated and it certainly made our last day more pleasant, but I still found the lack of any kind if acknowledgement for their mistake the first night very unusual. If it wasn't for that this review would be 5 stars but unfortunately it did somew

We are late in writing this review but better late than never . We stayed for a week at Creta Blue over the Greek Orthodox Easter and we stayed in one of the high rooms with panoramic sea view . On arrival we were taken to our room which was at the top of the hotel , it was quite a steep climb but we soon got used to it and it burned off some calories. The room was beautiful, it was a maisonette style and had amazing views from the balcony. We had breakfast each morning which was lovely, it wasn’t buffet style but brought out on a tray with a nice assortment of items . There was a lovely touch on Easter Sunday where we were given red eggs to take away and i think it was Easter Monday we were given a lovely bread cake. We had dinner one night in the Blue Moon restaurant which was very nice and had a bottle of blue wine which was lovely and unique. The pool area is simply stunning and has amazing views from the very comfortable sunloungers. All of the staff we met gave fantastic service and nothing was a problem, everyone was very friendly and helpful. I have nothing negative to comment on and cannot wait to return in a few days time , our daughter will be joining us half way through the holiday and cant wait to experience this beautiful hotel , her 2nd visit to Koutouloufari but first visit to Creta Blue . See you soon 💙

We have been fortunate enough to have stayed at Creta Blue quite a few times but this year we went with one of our daughters and her two children aged 6 & 2! I cannot express my gratitude enough to George and his staff. We arrived after a very long day sat on a delayed plane and it was lovely just to have a table in the restaurant made available to us. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. As always, the food is amazing from breakfast, lunch around the pool to evening meal.
