Reviews of Creta Blue Boutique Hotel

I have taken some time to consider the review for this as our time in Crete was somewhat marked by thunderstorms and illness, but neither were the issues of the resort. Crete blue is some way back from the coast and not easily accessible by all traffic, though the cab we took from the airport got us there safely. The room was up a short but very steep slope but our room had a view over the pool and onto the sea. The room itself was comfortable but a bit basic as the WiFi didn’t seem to stretch there and as a result, Netflix didn’t work on the tv. The bathroom was fine, the bed comfortable but the safe was a bit on the small side (not that there were any problems with security). However, there was a big problem with an emergency exit light over the door. This used LED and to say it was bright was an understatement. On the first evening we couldn’t sleep for the feeling it was broad daylight. We took matters into our own hands by placing a bag over the light, but even that only lessened the problem. Food was generally good, but our package included breakfast and dinner and seeing the same menu every day became a drag. They did partially address that with the addition of daily specials, but you needed to order them at breakfast, something we didn’t always achieve given the conditions. The wine selection with dinner was good and reasonably priced. George and his team were very friendly and always happy to help.

You cannot fault this hotel ,the staff are so friendly and welcoming.

My husband and I spent 5 days here a week ago. It was the perfect break from our busy lives. The hotel is a small family run concern and is absolutely charming. Lovely pool area with views over Heronissos and the sea. The staff were just lovely. Always smiling and doing all they could to make our stay special. Good food and nice rooms. Perfect location away from the melee of the main resort, but walkable ( might want a cab back up the hill). A lovely village only a few minutes stroll, provided a wealth of attractive tavernas and small shops. All in all a perfect getaway. We will definitely return.

We stayed in the adults only part of the hotel room 629. That part has 4 rooms with a private pool. The rooms are amazing! Large room with al large balcony and huge bathroom. Everything is very clean. For every room luxury sunbeds by the private pool. Personel is fantastic, super friendly an helpfull. They made also the difference besides rooms etc. Breakfast is also delicious. We are still there and enjoying our holiday!

Our second stay at Creta blue and just as relaxing as the first. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main town but only a few minutes walk to koutloufari village which is full of tiny streets full of friendly restaurants, bars and shops. We stayed in the adults only suite which is amazing. A sea view from your enormous bathroom, comfortable large bed with everything you could need. Breakfast is served to your table and is always fresh and tasty with lots of options. Half board is well worth the extra cost, eating in the top rated blue moon restaurant every evening with a daily freshly cooked local special. All the food is exquisitely cooked, presented and served by the wonderful staff. The staff are like one big happy family which makes your stay the most relaxing holiday you can have. Special mentions to Sofia, Lavinia and Davia who work relentlessly for all the guests. Mary who serviced our room was friendly and fantastic at her job, even leaving us a present on our last day! Arrived home this week from a fantastic 10 nights at Creta Blue. It was recommended to us by a family member. A fantastic hotel and possibly the first holiday I have returned home truly relaxed. It is a short walk down to the village which has plenty of bars/restaurants. We were half board and the dinners were lovely made even more enjoyable with the help of the somelier who assisted with the best wines etc to accompany our meals. The only downside on food was that the breakfast could have done with some more meat options in my opinion as the only meat was a slice of ham/turkey, but I am a big meat eater so possibly just my preference. If returning to koutouloufari, we would definitely stay here again.

We recently stayed at Creta Blue for the week. This hotel is beautiful and set high up with a lovely view. The room was immaculate and well equipped. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. The sunbeds were so comfortable and the pool was great. The village of Koutouloufari had great options of restaurants and bars. We definitely plan on coming back!

Stayed at Creta Blue beginning of June 2025 for 10 nights. Last visited 11 years ago, so anticipated some changes, but have to say all for the better. George (owner), has improved the look of the hotel into a more 'boutique' style which both my wife and I thought more appropriate. It's a very chilled location, elevated above hersonnisis with views over the bay. Rooms lovely and clean and tidy guests return here year after year which speaks volumes. Food in the restaurant is very good, the staff have all been at the hotel for many years. Lovely pool, and sufficient beds for everyone. The clientele are a mix of young, mature and small families, most of whom appeared to be proffesional's which made it feel very comfortable. (If you get my drift). The hotel is built into the mountain and access can be quite steep so beware if you have any mobility issues. 10 minute stroll into koutalfaria loads of very nice bars and restaurants. Overall great holiday, and yes we will return.

Absolutely outstanding! I work for a luxury Tour Operator in London. This hotel is fabulous, the food is exceptional and everyone who works here, from the owner George, waiting staff and cleaners clearly love their jobs. All happy, courteous and friendly. Rooms with views to die for! Thank you, I will not want to leave!

We stayed at Creta Blue Hotel for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon, and it was everything we had hoped for – and more. We had searched extensively for a hotel with a heated pool, and not only did Creta Blue deliver on that, but our suite also came with a private jacuzzi on the balcony. We made great use of it, along with the spacious sunbathing area, table, chairs, and stunning views. The hotel itself is beautiful, with immaculately kept grounds and a peaceful, luxurious atmosphere. Every member of staff we met was incredibly friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Our spa suite was thoughtfully equipped with a fridge and a great selection of glassware for every type of drink. The bathroom was huge, with a lovely rainfall shower, dual sinks, and excellent storage – including plenty of hanging space and coat hangers, which we really appreciated. The bed was large and very comfortable, and the air conditioning was quiet and easy to control. Another standout feature: the shutters behind the windows, which completely blocked out the morning light and helped us enjoy some of the best sleep we’ve ever had in a hotel. The entire suite had a calming, high-end feel, and we truly felt like we were living in luxury. The on-site restaurant was fabulous. Breakfast was freshly made to order and served as a variety of small dishes, allowing you to mix and match to your taste – a perfect way to start the day. We also dined there twice in the evening: the first meal was exceptional, and the second was still enjoyable, although possibly just not to our taste that night. The location is ideal – in a quiet area with a selection of quality restaurants and bars nearby, away from the busier tourist areas. Yet the main road with a wide variety of shops and restaurants is just a 15–20 minute walk away. If you’re looking for something a bit more refined for your getaway, we can’t recommend Creta Blue highly enough. It was a fantastic experience, and we were absolutely delighted with our choice for our honeymoon.

This was an amazing stay. The accommodation has great views, as does the pool and dining/bar area. A short walk from some quiet little bars and restaurants. We stayed half board, and the food was absolutely stunning, I ordered the same starter every night it was so good, while my wife tried the others. The restaurant was popular with locals and others not staying at the hotel. We fully recommend staying here. There is a steep bank to the rooms, but I'm sure the owner would arrange a car to the top if needed. Regards the staff they couldn't do enough for us and always had a smile, service was outstanding from arriving to leaving.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel! The service was outstanding—everyone was so kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and the private jacuzzi made it absolutely perfect for a relaxing holiday in April. The pool area is lovely and very well maintained, offering a great spot to unwind. Breakfast is served à la carte instead of a buffet, and every dish we ordered was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. We also dined at the hotel restaurant and were thoroughly impressed—highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience at Crete Blue Boutique Hotel in Koutouloufari during our babymoon! There is honestly not a single point of criticism we could give. Georgios and his entire team made us feel like a part of their family from the moment we arrived. We also had the privilege of celebrating Easter and Easter Monday with them, and experiencing how the Greeks celebrate this special time. Being welcomed into Georgios’ family celebrations made our stay even more unforgettable. • Rooms: 10/10 – Spotlessly clean, fresh towels every day, spacious, and overall very well maintained. • Swimming Pool: 10/10 – Beautiful, clean loungers, plenty of space between beds, and a peaceful atmosphere. • Restaurant: 10/10 – Everything served is fresh and clearly prepared with love and great attention to flavor. • Breakfast: 10/10 – Definitely try the pancakes with Nutella, a must! • Staff & Service: 12/10 – Everyone is incredibly friendly and truly treats you like family. In short: the place to be for a wonderful, relaxing vacation in Crete! We couldn’t have imagined a better place to celebrate our babymoon and can’t wait to come back.

Returning for our 3rd visit, as with the majority of visitors all seem to be people who have been before and all enjoy CBS, no need to go over previous reviews which cover the hotel perfectly, will we return not an issue, perfect relaxing holiday spot full of ambience and style,thank you George and the brilliant staff at CBS
