This was our second stay at the Artem Orbis and just as nice as the first. We were in Room 2 this time around. It’s a comfortable size and faces the small square on the south side of the old Rathaus. The bed was comfortable and the bedding good. The bathroom is quite nicely sized with a giant walk-in shower. My one negative towards the bathroom is the sliding glass door. This seems to be becoming normal in Germany, on trend so to speak, but I prefer a little more solid of a door on the toilet. Still, though, a fantastic bathroom, especially the shower. Our first time at the Artem Orbis was in Room 6, on the uppermost floor. The room itself was awesome - loved the size, the furnishings, and the view towards Jena and the hills. The downside of 6 are the stair, if you getting decrepit like I am and/or have heavy bags, it is quite a hike - that’s why we requested a different room this time. This is a pension, so don’t expect hotel services. There is a well appointed, communal kitchen if you desire. The ONLY negative that I have for the Artem Orbis is that parking can be difficult. There’s no charge for parking, but you are at the mercy of fate and whether or not the neighbors are away.
