We were in a 3 bedroom at the Napili tower, ground floor which initially frustrated me, but worked out beautifully. Easy access to the pool, bar, grills and beach without waiting on elevators. The views were a bit obstructed, but the convenience was worth the trade off. The kitchen is well equipped for most of your cooking and grilling needs, though the ice maker didn’t work very well. We had a maintenance issue with the AC, but it was promptly fixed when we called for help. Parking was easy and the pool bar cocktails were tasty. Starbucks on property is a big bonus, though you can make coffee in your room. The only thing that surprised me was hearing guests from the Hyatt next-door are at the pool, stating that because of the construction going on at their property, they were directed to come here as one of their options. As a presidential owner of 2 weeks here, I am more than a little surprised by this revelation. It explains the limited pool chairs that are available. We have had a wonderful time though and everyone is happy we came.

This is a review for MOC Napili Tower. Some reviewers are reviewing the wrong building. Napili and Lahaina Towers are NOT the old hotel towers. We own an Oceanfront unit that can be assigned as Napili or Lahaina Tower. We always request a High Floor, in advance. We got assigned an 8th floor in the Napili Tower. Perfect!! The high floor makes it easy to see whales, in season. We loved the huge picture window in the main room. Our unit is a 2 bedroom. We have a full kitchen and washer/dryer. We also own an Oceanview room in the old hotel. Obviously, the newer Lahaina and Napili Towers are nicer, and specifically built as Condos. I snorkel straight out from the beach activity center and then snorkel up and down the coast. Turtles and lots of fish. We also use the free pool chairs in the grass which give unobstructed views of the ocean. The resort is in an ideal location on Kaanapali Beach. Whaler’s Village is a short walk with many nice restaurants. If you reserve an Oceanfront room in either of these towers, you will have a great stay! #1 of 5 every time.

When searching be for a hotel on Maui, I was a bit apprehensive as the reviews that I found for this location weren’t great. I unfortunately resolved myself to assuming that I just wouldn’t have a good time. Let me tell you. Sometimes you have to take a chance and experience things for yourself. The property is beautiful with grade A views of the ocean. My room seems to be part of the vacation club and comes complete with a kitchenette. So loved it. There are three separate pools and hot tubs as well. Would definitely come again.

Suites were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Although I missed having a full kitchen, our family had a great experience! We loved every moment, and staff was super nice and helpful! The swimming pools were so nice, and we enjoyed them during the day and evening time. The week was a gift to us, and we couldn’t have been more thankful for a wonderful week!

This was a great resort. We enjoyed our time here as we celebrated my wife’s birthday. Beautiful view of the grounds and ocean from our room. It was quiet and relaxing, check in was smooth although we had to wait 15 min or so to be helped since only one person was checking guests in. Apparently many of these units are timeshares which they rent out as hotel rooms when they are vacant. Only reason it didn’t receive 5 stars from us is because of the price. It was very expensive for one night, but most of that is due to the supply/demand situation in Maui post-Covid. So I don’t blame the hotel completely, but for what we paid it would have been nice of them to add a few extra touches here and there since they were aware we were visiting for a special occasion (a welcome gift, a small credit, a discount or voucher, etc would have been appreciated). Overall a very nice resort with pools for kids, restaurants and amenities if you are willing to pay $800+ a night.

I would have rated this a 5 but I did not like the room assignment. We paid extra for an Ocean Front 2BR villa. The view was more like an ocean view category. Half the view was the fishbowl view of the building next door. Ironically, Marriott categories the views at the other building as Ocean View even though they have exactly the same view we had but we paid thousands more in points. The balconies are small at this resort so we rarely used them. If we would have truly gotten an oceanfront view, the view would have been spectacular and worth every dime. The overall pro of this resort is the location. You can walk to Whaler’s Village, which is a fun place. The con of this resort is trying to get pool chairs but I guess that is a con at all the Maui resorts.

The property is very old and dated. Be careful which tower you reserve. There are condo timeshare villas and also an old section of hotel that they call villas and they’re only 3 old hotel rooms that have been connected. They only have a refrigerator and a microwave. No washer and dryer. No kitchen or oven. The worst part was that maintenance has been deferred. The shower head was broken in master. When they replaced it, it was spraying perpendicularly into wall. The conversion to handicap left a cheesy shower curtain that was too short and a sharp sliding door track on the floor. The mattress in the master was a very cheap, hard as a wood plank, 6 inch thick mattress. Totally unacceptable. It took 2days to get a mattress topper. It was so bad I had to take pain meds for my sore hips. The housekeeping also needed training. The housekeeper took the sheets from the fold out sofa and didn’t leave clean ones. I also witnessed the housekeeper clean the fresh water dispenser in the gym with the same dirty rag that he used on the floor and the foot pedals. I understand Covid has created some issues but we paid a premium price and it wasn’t a luxury property. Also be careful of your reservation. We basically got scammed by the VRBO owner. It was listed as a villa and was not. Also VRBO is not honoring its book with confidence guarantee.

Amenities, check in and check out and quality of the resort is amazing. Also understand that the ocean has coral and lava rock so may not be kid-friendly. Definitely bring water shoes to swim in the ocean. That said, the resort staff are courteous and helpful. If visiting Hawaii, definitely consider this venue.

Beautiful resort. Communication about parking at check in was for confusing. Was confused why we had to show our Covid vaccination cards when we checked in as we already had the cleared wristband from the airline. Wasn’t informed that we would need to show vac card when we went to use fitness center and didn’t have it in us. Confused as to why when it was scanned on check in. Wait staff was amazing!

Great location within easy walk to shopping at Whalers Village. Beach at this location is not as wide as it is farther towards the Whalers Village. Beach area is under restoration. Beautiful view from 11th floor. It is very busy around this area with lots of foot traffic on the sidewalk that connects all the hotels by the beach. Make dinner reservations before you go in this area as the prime time spots fill up fast.

Family stay for a couple of nights. The pools are awesome with water slides and a little splash pad for the littlest ones. Great sunset views. Clean spacious rooms.
