Hotel Marroad is just a few minutes by the shuttle bus from the station , and it can also be reached on foot. We booked a room for 4 people and the room size is good at a very reasonable price (include breakfast). The fixtures are a bit old. However, the room and the amenities are very clean. We come to skiing and the hotel has a rental service (much cheaper than you rent at the ski field) which is very convenient. Also, they send us to ski field every day. Staff can speak little English, but they are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious, and it is a must try.

I chose a very satisfactory hotel by accident. It is located in the old Karuizawa villa area. It is quiet and you can take a leisurely stroll around the old Karuizawa area. You can walk along the trails in the villa area. It is quiet and beautiful😍. It is the best choice. The overall reception service and room hygiene are satisfactory, the transportation service is good, the breakfast quality is good, and the service attitude is very good. However, the location is a 20-minute walk from the station. If the weather is bad, it is best to take a taxi. The hotel room is very large and suitable for families. Although the location is a little far from the subway station, it can be reached on foot. The overall price/performance ratio is very high and it is highly recommended! The only shortcoming is that the hotel's catering is Western-style catering, and there is no Japanese-style catering. When the weather is cold, I want to have a Japanese-style meal in the hotel, but there is no Japanese-style meal in the restaurant.

The hotel is located at the foot of a relatively secluded mountain. It is about a fifteen-minute drive from the business district and various attractions. If you are not driving by yourself, the transportation will be very inconvenient. As for the hotel itself, the service attitude, accommodation environment and sanitary conditions are very good. We are traveling as a family of five. The two adults each sleep on a 1.2 single bed, and there are three small Japanese-style tatami mats (a place for drinking tea and chatting during the day, and one person can open the bed at night). It is not crowded at all. We recommend the hotel's one-night-and-two-meals package. The meals are relatively rich and the ingredients are freshly produced in the season. It is a very cost-effective and old-fashioned Japanese star hotel in Niizawa.

It was my first time staying there, but it was very nice. Despite being close to the station, we were surrounded by trees and enjoyed the beautiful autumn leaves from the window in an environment typical of Karuizawa. The room was a Japanese-Western style room, but it was much nicer than the photo. Accommodation rates in Karuizawa have been high for a long time, and especially recently there are many hotels that are quite expensive, but this hotel was very reasonable and had very high quality dinner and service. I was especially impressed with the ingenuity of the dinner and the skill of the head chef. The tableware was carefully selected and I wanted to use it at home as well. The dining room was surrounded by large windows and the autumn leaves looked like a painting. Everything was of much higher quality than the photos on each site, and it was comparable to the hotel I had stayed at in Kyu Karuizawa. Considering the low price, this is a hotel I would recommend. I was once again reminded that a hotel is not just about its name.

The room is very comfortable and spacious, the bathroom configuration is very ideal, and the items are complete. The environment is beautiful and quiet, and the service is friendly. Especially love their Japanese breakfast 😋 It should be noted that there is no elevator, but the service staff will assist with luggage so don't worry, but those with limited mobility may need to ask the hotel staff in advance.

My mum and I really enjoyed our time at Hotel Marroad Karuizawa. The rooms were the most spacious we had ever come across in Japan and we could both open our suitcases comfortably. They were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The service staff were very professional and helpful as well. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet on one of our mornings there. Some of the drawbacks: the hotel is older in terms of style and design, although extremely well-maintained. Our room was on the floor above the lobby and there was no elevator, and there was no elevator or ramp from the hotel driveway to the lobby upstairs. The concierge was very kind to help us with our luggage, however. Overall, strongly recommended!

There are no escalators, elevators, or ramps inside or outside the hotel, making it difficult for the elderly and injured.

Use the one-night, two-meal, full-course dinner plan. It's in a great location surrounded by trees and within walking distance to Kumoba Pond and the Kyukaruizawa shopping street. I used a car, but other than going there and returning, I enjoyed walking around the area. In the spacious room, you can see maples and maples with beautiful autumn leaves from the window. The cleaning was thorough and I felt very relaxed. The hospitality of the employees is also wonderful. And a delicious meal. I will definitely visit again.

I didn't expect much because the price was cheap, but I was very satisfied with the hotel's good service. I would like to stay here again when traveling to Karuizawa. It's definitely better than a cheap luxury hotel. Recommended.
