Hotel Marroad is just a few minutes by the shuttle bus from the station , and it can also be reached on foot. We booked a room for 4 people and the room size is good at a very reasonable price (include breakfast). The fixtures are a bit old. However, the room and the amenities are very clean. We come to skiing and the hotel has a rental service (much cheaper than you rent at the ski field) which is very convenient. Also, they send us to ski field every day.
Staff can speak little English, but they are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious, and it is a must try.

The room is relatively spacious in Japan, and the kids especially like playing in the tatami room.
The breakfast we chose is a set meal prepared by the waiter
The hotel has a free shuttle bus to Snow Park and Outlet, which is very convenient

Recommend one night and two meals. You can choose Japanese and Western breakfast. I choose one a day. French dinner🤩, hahahaha, the service can feed me.
Hygiene: clean and comfortable, the room is large.
Service: Whether it is the front desk, the station or the ski resort shuttle bus🚌, it is available at any time✅
Environment: ٩(๑^o^๑)۶ It is so beautiful. It is very close to the station. It would be perfect if there is a hot spring. Walk to take the bus and go to the Stone Church and Yuntang Pool.
Facilities: You can rent ski equipment at the hotel. It is also okay to return it later. You can put it in the drying room by yourself.

The location is quiet, the rooms are comfortable, only more than 10 minutes walk from the station, the service is courteous, although as earlier reviews there is no elevator, but the impact is not great.

I chose a very satisfactory hotel by accident. It is located in the old Karuizawa villa area. It is quiet and you can take a leisurely stroll around the old Karuizawa area. You can walk along the trails in the villa area. It is quiet and beautiful😍. It is the best choice. It is so beautiful. 👍
The attached pictures show the hotel and surrounding environment for reference. 👍✌

The overall reception service and room hygiene are satisfactory, the transportation service is good, the breakfast quality is good, and the service attitude is very good. However, the location is a 20-minute walk from the station. If the weather is bad, it is best to take a taxi. In addition, the hotel is relatively old-fashioned and has Japanese-style tatami rooms, which are suitable for those who like nostalgia. The lighting in the rooms can be improved.

The hotel room is very large and suitable for families. Although the location is a little far from the subway station, it can be reached on foot. The overall price/performance ratio is very high and it is highly recommended!
The only shortcoming is that the hotel's catering is Western-style catering, and there is no Japanese-style catering. When the weather is cold, I want to have a Japanese-style meal in the hotel, but there is no Japanese-style meal in the restaurant.
The hotel is located at the foot of a relatively secluded mountain. It is about a fifteen-minute drive from the business district and various attractions. If you are not driving by yourself, the transportation will be very inconvenient. As for the hotel itself, the service attitude, accommodation environment and sanitary conditions are very good. We are traveling as a family of five. The two adults each sleep on a 1.2 single bed, and there are three small Japanese-style tatami mats (a place for drinking tea and chatting during the day, and one person can open the bed at night). It is not crowded at all. We recommend the hotel's one-night-and-two-meals package. The meals are relatively rich and the ingredients are freshly produced in the season. It is a very cost-effective and old-fashioned Japanese star hotel in Niizawa.

It was my first time staying there, but it was very nice. Despite being close to the station, we were surrounded by trees and enjoyed the beautiful autumn leaves from the window in an environment typical of Karuizawa. The room was a Japanese-Western style room, but it was much nicer than the photo. Accommodation rates in Karuizawa have been high for a long time, and especially recently there are many hotels that are quite expensive, but this hotel was very reasonable and had very high quality dinner and service. I was especially impressed with the ingenuity of the dinner and the skill of the head chef. The tableware was carefully selected and I wanted to use it at home as well. The dining room was surrounded by large windows and the autumn leaves looked like a painting. Everything was of much higher quality than the photos on each site, and it was comparable to the hotel I had stayed at in Kyu Karuizawa. Considering the low price, this is a hotel I would recommend. I was once again reminded that a hotel is not just about its name.

The room is very comfortable and spacious, the bathroom configuration is very ideal, and the items are complete. The environment is beautiful and quiet, and the service is friendly. Especially love their Japanese breakfast 😋
It should be noted that there is no elevator, but the service staff will assist with luggage so don't worry, but those with limited mobility may need to ask the hotel staff in advance.

My mum and I really enjoyed our time at Hotel Marroad Karuizawa. The rooms were the most spacious we had ever come across in Japan and we could both open our suitcases comfortably. They were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The service staff were very professional and helpful as well. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet on one of our mornings there. Some of the drawbacks: the hotel is older in terms of style and design, although extremely well-maintained. Our room was on the floor above the lobby and there was no elevator, and there was no elevator or ramp from the hotel driveway to the lobby upstairs. The concierge was very kind to help us with our luggage, however. Overall, strongly recommended!

I have stayed here for about 10 nights with my family of five over the New Year holidays. Breakfast was always buffet style because it was the New Year holidays. Buffet style breakfast is free for infants who sleep with their parents. This year, on the last Saturday of the year, there were no vacancies on the Internet, so I made a reservation after checking by phone. Since it was the end of the year, I assumed that it would be crowded, so breakfast would be available from early in the morning. When I checked in, I was suddenly told, "Tomorrow, you can choose between Japanese or Western food, not buffet," and "For infants who sleep with their parents, there will be no meal, and if necessary, you will need to pay 1,540 yen separately." When I asked why this information was not given to me when I made the reservation by phone, I was told, "I'm sorry. Tomorrow is a selection, so please choose by 9:00 p.m. anyway," so I had no choice but to choose Japanese and Western food for two adults and one elementary school student. Breakfast on the day started at 7:30. It's pointless to stay so late when you're staying near the ski resort. When I was finally shown to the restaurant, I was told that while in the buffet style, you could have as many drinks as you wanted, you could only have one drink per person. The drinks were apple juice, orange juice, milk, and tomato juice, and were not expensive. As for the Western food, the menu on the table said "bread" and "something with Shinshu mushrooms and purple cabbage?", so I waited expecting it to come, but instead I got a croissant, and the mushroom and purple cabbage item did not come. When I asked, I was told, "The bread was out of stock and has been changed. The mushrooms and purple cabbage were also out of stock, and we do not have any alternatives." I was shocked that they changed and even took away what was on the menu without any explanation until I asked, and of course there was no refund. Also, the Western food was served with a waste of time (I wanted to go skiing quickly), with salad and soup, but the Japanese food (for some reason there was no menu, so I didn't know what was coming) was served on a tray all at once, and I thought something would come later like the Western food, but nothing came, not even a dessert, and even though they said, "You can have more rice," I had already eaten all the side dishes, and no side dishes were offered. Anyway, everything was not explained well, the arrangements were poor, and I had a very unpleasant experience, even though I was paying a high price for the hotel at the end of the year. There was no apology from the superiors. I had a lot of fun memories at this hotel, and I'm really sorry that they were ruined.
