We stayed at Garggi village homestay at Kumarakom in the first week of October 2023. The home-stay by the canal and the bird sanctuary is right on the opposite bank. While the property isn't particularly large, but it is laid out well with a lush garden in the backyard and lots of flower beds between the cottages. It was raining almost continuously throughout our stay here, but the friendly staff helped us snatch a quick houseboat ride during during a rare sunny break in the weather. The complementary breakfast and dinner (which we ordered) were basic but clean and delicious. I highly recommend this place for stay in Kumarakom, the only possible downside being the short stretch of narrow approach road that could be challenging during the rains.

Best property if you want to hang out with friends as you will be getting a whole house to yourself with free parking and outdoor areas for bar-be-que purposes. The location of the property is excellent and we had a friendly caretaker, who helped with Bar-be-que preparation and made sure we experienced a comfortable stay.

The home is fully furnished and has two queen sized air conditioned bedrooms with attached bathrooms. A functioning kitchen, including grill option is available for those who prefer to have self-cooked food. Homely and tasty food (Both Veg and Non- Veg) is also delivered on request at a nominal rate. Our specialties include Duck Roast, Karimeen fry, Prawns fry, Tapioca and Fish curry, Chapathi and Chicken curry / fry.
Recreation facilities like fishing and Canal cruise in Shikari boats or Lake Cruise in house boats through the Vembanad Lake is also arranged. As one enjoys the scenic beauty of the lake, it is also delightful to watch birds from cuckoo to migratory birds. We, the Garggi Village Homestay team are at your service and look forward to your visit to create a stress free and enjoyable stay at Kumarakom.
